Stayed here in a tent as I went on a Paleontology dig with the nearby museum. It was great, on par with some of the better State Park campgrounds . The location for the tents was good with a lot of nice shade and a great view of the Platte as well as the stars at night. The bathroom for the campground were pit toilets but the one I used was still well taken care of and clean. You can hear the highway and trains but that is not something that can be changed and the trains do not tend to blow their whistle near by so you can easily ignore them. Overall it was a very good place to camp and I would do it again given that it's probably better than many hotels I've stayed in.Nearby activities: Check out the Glenrock Paleon Museum, it's right by the town square and has a ton of interesting finds that came out of the hills just behind the town!Food & drinks: The Classic cafe is a great place to get food and they can handle large parties if needed.

We sold our house in June of 2022 as we were going to RV full time . We stayed here for 4 months . In October we left for the winter for warmer weather . We came back in April of this year , 2023 . After staying for 6 months we will be leaving the end of October for warmer climate . However we will be back next April 2024 for another 6 months . This is a small campground in a very quaint small town . It is a very quiet , clean and comfortable park to stay in . It is well maintained . The laundry room is spotless and the park's shower and restroom is extremely clean and well maintained .The park manager Kim Cain , goes above and beyond the call of duty to help you the best she can . What an assett she is to this campground . If you are traveling through Wyoming we highly recommend it . Sincerely , Susan and Richard Penny ...

Very friendly staff that made you feel welcome! Bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever seen a campground! We stopped here for one night and it was very quiet and big open skies! The playground is meant for younger children but a very nice setup for them! The river was beautiful and great history to go along with the location. There is a splash pad and a park near by and the town is wonderful! Very much the small town vibe and loved it!

The campground was nice with access to the river. We stayed 2 nights from a Saturday to Monday. We never saw any staff there during our stay. We would have liked to purchase propane, which they sell on site, but they weren’t going to be open for that until Tuesday.

We're on a roadtrip and booked here in advance for 1 night. Arrived after hours (around 6pm) and we left by 11am (office still closed) so I never got a chance to meet staff. We had site 9, which was a nice site. Pull thru, full hookup. There is a kids play area and a dog run area in the grass field. I saw there was laundry area (never looked inside though). It served all it's purposes for our 1 night. Would I stay here again if in area, sure!

Our reservation was for 7 days. We were directed to a mud hole where as overnighters we put in much nicer spots with gravel and artificial turf. I understand that these are new owners and trying to improve the conditions. The laundry facilities and the internet were both very good. Those staying longer are more likely to return than overnighters.

Great place, quiet friendly close to Casper and other cities and things to see. Manager was friendly accommodating assisted us on a holiday squeezed us in. Park sits next to Platte river u can fish, and swim. Area in back that is for tents. Manager was always fixing up the place and keeping the area nice constantly. Very attentive and always there to help. Great place.

Nicest owner/manager I've met so far (21 parks this yr so far). If the rating was just about her, I'd would have given a t star. This was just a one night stay for me. 40 ft fifth wheel and I got a pull through. She let me stay hooked up as my truck was blocking nobody from leaving. Seems like quite a few permanents and/or seasonal RVs, and there is a big section by the river for I'm assuming tenters. My site was level and had a picnic table. I did not check out the showers, but I did see a fairly large dog park/run area as well as a playground. There is also River frontage but I did not check it out. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully spend more than just one night. Thank you Platte River RV.Playground: Looked clean and there were kids playing and having a good time.Dog-friendliness: Good size dog park.

I have to leave my huge thanks and praise to the team at Platte River Campground. They accommodated our group of 40 youth and 20 adults and did it so well. Kim was fantastic; the owners were incredible. The facilities were clean and everything was spot on. We will most definitely be back and have already told others. Thank you!

We do not usually stay at private RV parks, but we were visiting a friend in Casper. The temperature was in the high 90s and we needed electricity for air conditioning. The park employee was very friendly and helpful. The park had extra touches that made it look cared for. There were tended plants. There was an Astroturf rug under the picnic table. The bathroom and shower were very clean. The new laundry room was spotless. The only negative is that the sites were close together as is customary in private RV parks. We were in a 17' travel trailer. We would stay here again.

Great location, close enough to Casper for day trips, but far enough out of town to enjoy a quiet and starry night sky. A secluded portion of the RV park fronts the North Platte River, spend a few hours on the river bank and enjoy the solitude. Clean restroom & shower, spanking new laundry room and great nightly rates, they have both FHU and primitive spaces. We spent nearly a week there, remote working with great WiFi speed. (Note- our site was near the office, and we did not check WiFi speed from sites further away) Short bike ride to good grocery store in Glenrock, All sites were gravel, dry and level, Many seasonal RV residents, so little traffic during the weekdays. Drive up paved Hwy 90 into the surrounding hills for spectacular views.

Despite the complaint posts I read, this is a good campground. My wife and I chose to dry camp next to the river, for the tranquility, which we got. Planned to spend 3 days and extended for half a month. Couple of trips to dump station and water supply in our 32 ft motor home was very workable. Plenty of wildlife, our dog loved walks on the area, and we've put this on our short list for future trips. Owners and staff were friendly and cooperative. Full hookups were in the sun, which help prompt our dry camping by the river. Staff quietly keeps tabs on the grounds, and keeps things clean. This is the West and normal life in the small town continues, but the camping is good.

It's a diamond in the rough. It looks rough but it was a good little place to park our rv. It has laundry mat, showers, bathrooms for the tent camping, playground for little kids and a pet area. Another plus is the river behind the campsite. The manager lives on site and she is great!Playground: The playground is a sandbox some swings and some fisher price toys. They are working to upgrade the site.Restrooms: I didn't use them but they had one by the rv sites in back of the office along with a shower. Then they had showers and port a potties for the rustic tent camping/ boondocking at the back of the park.Dog-friendliness: It is most dog friendly I've seen so far. They have a fenced area for the dogs. Plus a good supply of doggie poop bags to pick up your dog's poop.Picnic area: Every site has a picnic table and there is some by the river too.

Very clean great staff to work with bathrooms and showers are very clean and they also had a laundromat that was clean and well taken care of . My parents were even with me and they couldn’t believe how beautiful it was down by the river and the wild animals that had seen . They said they’ll be back next year because it’s such a quiet campground and friendly .

Amazing location! Right on the river with a nice walking path. The bathroom facilities for tent sites are not the most up to date but they were clean and usable. All sites have fire ring and table so that’s cool. 2 min drive from the campground is a nice hiking rock that offers beautiful views.

Went there for the 2017 solar eclipse. For a place that handles much less business, they handled 1600 sites very well. Obviously this is not normal, so take this review as abnormal compared to what is normally there. Nice and relaxing, and playing with my kid in the Platte River was fun for both of us. Facilities always were clean, which is nice given the number of campers at the time. Sites were very primitive, but not sure what the normal ones are like

Stayed here temporarily for work. Really nice place. The fenced in dog park area is SO nice. It made my girl so happy getting to run off leash and play fetch in there. They have doggie cleanup bags all over and scoopers in the dog park which leaves people with no excuse not to pick up after their dogs. They also have a propane refill station right up front which is SUPER convenient especially in the winter months when you go through it quickly. Everyone I talked to that works there was very nice and accommodating. If we are ever in the area again we will surely be back.

The best campground on Earth! and what a perfect safe family kayaking along the Platte River. We were rowing with all ages (7-45) and a small dog. It was about 2 hours and 10.4 kms or 6.5 miles. Thanks for a great River experience!

Very nice people and a unique access to the Platte River. Not a bad price, but maybe it has to do with the west that we're not used to, but the entire site was gravel. I'm from Michigan and maybe I'm just used to trees and grass. But like I said, the people were great, they have an enclosed dog park, and it was a very good experience.

Great stop! We dry camped down by river. Plenty of space and away from others. Pretty views, river, trees. Staff more than helpful and very frindly...even let us come in late and met us. One night....became 2 night stay. Dogs welcome. We visited downtown and Casper during our stay, which we stocked up on supplies. Recommend and we would stay again. Another part of area has power and water, etc.

We came with the masses to see the "great American eclipse of 2017". They had a kitchen with a large menu, live music, church services, tubing, kayaking, fishing, a whole list of activities. Unfortunately, this Park is not designed to operate at Max capacity so those with RVs could not use showers or portapotty, and the brick and mortar facilities were reserved for employees. Overall it's a nice little park just a ten minute walk from town but management could have prepared better to properly accommodate the number of reservations. On an average weekend however, it seems like a good place for a family stop-over.

Super nice owners! We were there just over night. Ended up having a problem with the underbelly of our rig and the owner was kind enough and skilled to repair it so we could get on our way safely. Just wish we could of stayed longer and enjoyed the place more. We saw beautiful wildlife right out our door. Highly recommend!

This was not too bad for an overnight stay while traveling. The campground was clean, the staff very helpful but no trees whatsoever. The campground is all gravel and sites are mostly level. There were a lot of permanent campers but that was not a negative at this campground. The area near the Platte River is nice for walking.

Lovely spot on the Platte River with stands of cotton wood and Russian olive trees... BUTthere's a 24-hr factory just across the river and (somewhere close but not visible) tracks with freight trains that come through at least twice after midnight. So, if you're looking for a quiet spot, this ain't it. Very clean outhouse style bathrooms.
