Lou is a wonderful host. Check-in was easy and she ensured that we had everything we needed. She also frequently checked in during our stay. The cabin itself was cozy and well furnished. It was exactly what we needed for our winter escape! Temperatures fell below 0 almost every night and the cabin stayed warm. I would highly recommend Lou and Elk Mountain Cabins!

These are perfect little cabins, my family and I stayed there over a weekend. The cabin we stayed in was cozy, the gas heater worked incredibly well. Will definitely be planning a stay there again next season.

Elk Mountain cabinsElk Mountain Cabins are more like an AirBnB than a simple cabin rental. Our cabin was clean and bug-free and had a well equipped kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and oven. There was good water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. The towels and flannel sheets were good quality. Even though it was below freezing outside, the cabin was warm and comfortable. The Wi-Fi (6!) was sufficiently fast to run a 4K TV (which we brought with us) and other devices simultaneously. The beautiful property even has a walk-in cooler for the successful hunter's use! Finally, there is Lou, the proprietress. She is wonderful! Accommodating, helpful, and kind. She takes an interest in her guests but also gives you plenty of space so as not to overwhelm. She gave us drinking water when she found out we had forgotten to bring some and she loaned us tools to make a minor truck repair. I will definitely be back as soon as I draw another tag!

The best! Disclaimer: My grandmoms aunt built the place. Current owner gave me directions up the mountain to my grandmoms aunts husband's tie camp. I'll definitely win the next family reunion. Friendly owner with friendly cats and dogs. We got her last tomatoes and the neighbors eggs for breakfast, delicious! Could have stayed a couple nights more but were heading up to the Tetons and Yellowstone. Got great directions for stops on the way up north

Lou might be the nicest person I’ve ever met. Two friends and I stayed the night while riding the WYBDR. She made sure to call the general store down the road so we could pick up beer and generally made sure we were taken care of. Make sure you meet her dog Storm! Highly recommend staying here!

My husband and grandson stayed at Elk Mountain Cabins a week ago.All communication with Lou was pleasant and helpful. Cabin was very clean, comfortable mattress and quiet. Location in the small town of Elk Mountain was pleasant and attractive. Lou was very helpful in recommending trails and sightseeing with my grandson. The two lakes at Snowy Range are a must see! Thank you, Lou, for a good experience!

These cabins were awesome! I am walking across the country and Lou was very accommodating for me. And her pups Ben and Storm are adorable! I would recommend these cozy cabins to anyone needing a nice place to stay in a really cool, quaint town.

I am about a year late with this review. We came here during the pandemic last year to escape the city for a few days.First, Lou is a great host and incredibly personable. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our stay. Not only was the cabin in great shape, but had all the amenities needed. This place is very dog friendly which we were so excited about, the owners themselves have two great pyrenese that are extremely friendly.There is tons of wildlife throughout the small town and is a short drive to Medicine Bow National forest.I highly recommend Elk Mountain Cabins and will return soon!

Quaint super clean cabins with great beds and quiet suroundings, Lou the owner goes out of her way for her guests. Plus...there is a 5 star restaurant with a great food, drink, and wine menu. 😁 Highly recommend you stay here for a night!

Hunting in Wyoming and needed a place to stay. Was very lucky to find this place. Lou took very good care of us. She provided everything you could need in these VERY CLEAN cabins. Price was good too!I can't say enough about how we loved this place!
