Convenient if you need a couple of things but otherwise way too expensive for routine shopping. Prices have gone up 50 - 100%. The sale prices are what things used to cost when they weren't on sale. And check everything before you buy. I've seen many, many expired products. One time all the sliced cheese in the case was moldy.

Not very impressed, chicken is self service now and they charge you double for not even as much as before. I liked interacting with people in the deli too, it gave it more of a home town feel. It's also very expensive, so stick with the mini cart. I prefer shopping at the dollar general but they don't always have everything. They would be super awesome if they started making fresh donuts!!

Wow is all I have to say. We rented a cabin In the area and needed a few things.I was absolutely shocked by the prices in this store. Shocked. We thought coming from Southern Wisconsin things would be cheaper. Wrong.$18 for a 24 case of soda is ridiculous.I lived in California for 8 years and never saw prices that high there.I’m not sure how people can actually afford to shop there based off what the surrounding area looked like. If this isn’t price gouging I don’t know what is.

Go here to buy food, more often then not the produce is moldy or is on the verge of going bad. Can goods is all that is really good here now. The drive elsewhere is worth it, may spend a bit on gas but food is fresher, cheaper, and less moldy anywhere else.

Love the new 2 page ad for all the Hometown Grocery stores. Easy to read and some very hot pricing too. Nice to see these stores all on the same ad to.I found it great to see a major reset going on. Resets refresh a store that includes bringing in new items. Well done Wittenberg Sentry Foods!!

Sweetest cashier's and staff you could ever imagine. Super clean and tidy store with fully stocked shelves. The prices aren't too outrageous either, considering our current economic situation.

It is VERY convenient to have such a nice, big store in our little Village, but the prices will put one in the poor house if you splurge. I can easily spend anywhere from $30.00 to $50.00 each time I go there for ingredients for ONE night's dinner. I also don't care too much for the "Everyday Essential" brand, but the prices are substantially lower than the name brands. The employees are always helpful and kind and the owner/s are usually on site to greet you with a smile. :-)

Small town grocery store, but has just about everything you would need like other grocery stores. The downside is higher prices than you'd find at the bigger stores in the city.

A lot of folks stop in Wittenberg for the town's famous bacon that is popular with movie stars. But if you drive past Hanke's you are missing out on a truly amazing grocer.Small, but well appointed, it's hard to pick a single strength... so let's go with the bakery. Amazing bread selection!Their sourdough is world class, but you'll want to to pick up a couple of varieties of fresh rye, wheat, and don't forget to try their creme horns - they're excellent.Competitive pricing, clean, well stocked shelves, and helpful friendly staff - who could ask for more? A community treasure!

Prices are way too expensive for this small town community. Sale prices are not really sales. This is just a 1 or 2 item shopping store. I don't like the deli not being there.

The Kaiser buns are nothing more than hamburger buns with a swirl in the center. You can't see what kind of lunch meat you're buying at the deli It's all wrapped up.

My favorite hometown store. I miss the older one but have learned to make do with this new store. Staff is great and the meat department never disappoints. They carry a lot of the standard food items, the sales are great. The web page is also wonderful especially when you lose your paper insert. Shelves are always stocked Stop in you'll love it!

The couple of times I have been to Hanke's Sentry Foods I have loved it. The employees are nice and friendly. The selection is great too. I know they have silk for a milk alternative but I can't recall if I saw lactaid there, which is what I drink. Other than that, I have not had any issues finding things there. All in all, a great place to shop and a wonderful experience each time.

I appreciate having a local grocery store. I look forward to the great prices on Stoney Ridge ice cream...best selection of flavors!!! Would appreciate seeing smiles rather than hiding behind face coverings!! It is time!!

Hanke’s is awesome! For starts, it’s the CLEANEST store I have ever stepped foot in (no joke, you would swear the floors are hand polished) plus, the selection is fantastic. Being in a small town, it is such a blessing having the convenience of this store only minutes away from my house for any last min cooking supplies. The prices are extremely comparable to other similar stores, and carry so much product you would never guess it’s in a small town!! The people that work there are always so nice, everyone’s smiling!! So they must be pretty good to their employees that they are so happy all the time. Always helpful too!!The deli rocks!! If you haven’t stopped yet, just go to the deli, it’s as large as chain stores, with a HUGE selection of fresh items! For a quick bite, they have hot meals in the deli too, including rotisserie chicken, priced exceptionally low and very tasty!Oh and pay attention to their ads; some sales are a steal!! You can’t go wrong!All in all, I feel Wittenberg is fortunate to have this establishment, not only for the convenience, but the many jobs Hankes supplies, and all that Hankes does to give back to the community! Long time, family owned, caring business, that takes pride in everything they do.

This grocery store is huge for a small town & it attracts people from far away towns as well. The owner, Dale Hanke, is a shorter man with gray hair & eyeglasses & in his 60's & very professional too. You'll love it!

Nice store, but not enforcing mask mandate. More than half the shoppers I encountered were not wearing them....and nobody was saying anything. Got the heck out as quick as I could.

VERY expensive! You're better off to drive to Antigo or Wausau for your groceries! Also, extremely slow at checkout. Sorry, not impressed.RESPONSE: I paid $8 for a rotisserie chicken at your store and over $3 for eggs! In Wausau at Pick N' Save, chickens are always $4.99, and eggs about $2.49 for 18. Most of your other prices are higher also. Fine when things are on sale in the ad, but your regular prices are DEFINITELY higher than Wausau.

I like the staff here, most of them are very nice and helpful...prices are a little higher, bit that kinda what you expect at a small town store, and when I say high I mean compared to Aldi's or Walmart.
