This is a great place to get a beardie. I got mine a few days ago, and he’s doing very well! The animals look well cared for, and the owner seems like he really does care about every animal that leaves his store which is why some reviewers think he is “snobby.” I dont necessarily think thats a bad thing, but i always believe in being open to learning new things! Herpetoculture is always evolving and changing. They also breed most of their animals in store, which is super awesome.My only warning for customers is to do your research. Many breeders rely on fairly outdated husbandry info such as 40 gallon tanks for adult dragons, when experts and modern keepers suggest a 4x2x2 (a 120gal). I know theyre hard to heat, especially if you crank the AC in the summer, but covering a small portion of the cool side with foil like he recommended has kept my temps optimal, and keeps the cool side room temperature. Although i will say it takes 2 100w halogens and a 160w mercury vapor to keep it up. (Its a very big tank so a little but of foil wont suffocate or harm them. PVC tanks like mine have a lot of ventilation.)I did check out a mercury vapor bulb, and that definitely helped keep my temps up, so those are nice when used in addition to halogens and a T5HO UVB. (Plus the extra UVB wont hurt anyone.)(Hes on paper towel until hes done quarantining. He will go on sand soon.)

I went there yesterday for the first time to look for some more items for my gargoyle gecko and fiancé's ball python, and they were fantastic! The staff was very knowledgeable and kind. We were greeted as soon as we came in, and we were told what all they had for tank items, feeders, animals. The staff were even I forming us about their remodel they're doing as well and asked for opinions on that. Overall it was a great experience! We will 100% be back

Helped us get set up for our beautiful bearded dragon, they sold us everything we needed and shared their wisdom of how to care for it as we were first time customers. It's been 4 ish months and they answer our questions when we call and are very helpful. I'll be going back to them exclusively from now onryan and the crew are awesome

Great selection for the first time reptile owner, the seasoned hobbyist & even the big time breeders. Many different displays showing of their available animals, some house their company pets & others show off the cool custom backgrounds. If your near the area check them out, if you're not make a day trip to come out. Full supply feeder bugs and rodents.

Went to this place hoping the reviews were right. Honestly, disgusting animal care. Tropical species had no humidity and multiple were having bad sheds. They have a few "educational" specimens that have habitats that are far too small. Multiple small critter kept in tiny show cases with no water, hides, etc (which I've only seen for short term reptile shows, never a pet store). Workers did not sound educated when I overheard them speaking with another customer. I've been caring for reptiles for over 10 years and am just appalled by this place. Don't get me wrong, I've seen worse, but pet stores like this have no right to have such inappropriate care. They need educated staff and turn it all around or shut down. Don't go here.

Love this place. They sell reptiles; snakes and lizards and turtles as well as their requisite food (I.e. mice and rats, worms and crickets, etc.). Also, they have a few not-for-sale critters; a blind ball python named Peepers and a massive toad named Sausage Jr. How can you not adore that?

The small selection of animals all look very healthy and well kept. And there are some very rare/interesting pets available there. But with that being said...The reason for only 2 stars is that the guy working there, when he emerged from the back room, was rude. His vibe was that we were bothering him by simply being there. I don't know if we interrupted whatever he was doing in the back or what... I tried making small talk about some of the animals while my friend and I looked around, and this guy made me feel like I was intruding.When you consider the fact that, as customers, we're looking to spend in the $500 - $1000 range in this very small out of the way specialty shop, you'd think he may at least pretend to be glad we're there.But he didn't. So we left after about 10 minutes. We then decided to drive nearly an hour away to another store in the Madison area where we spent almost $800 for a new pet and all the necessities.

They have a really nice selection of snakes, frogs and lizards along with all their housing, habitat and food for them. Stop on by and see what they have. Just remember to bring a little extra money with you because you'll probably find one you can't leave the store without.And FYI, feeder rodent delivery day is usually late afternoon Wednesday. Give them a call and get the full details.

Ryan's always been great and informative. Always willing to talk shop and help answer questions from newbie to advanced keepers . For the 8+ years I've known him he's never been dishonest. Great selection of animals and good prices within the industry.

Cool local place. These people know their stuff. True aficionados. Minus one star because they really need to clean and dust their customer lobby area. It stinks and there are cobwebs all over. I realize these animals smell but it's time for some new paint and at least a steam cleaning if not replace the carpet guys. Not hard to do. But great place overall. They will help you with all your lizard and snake needs. 👍🏼

Went in today and the owner i am assuming travis, was so very helpful. My daughter was looking for feeder mice,but he didnt carry them. He did tell us very helpful info on how to find them locally, and also how to feed frozen. Also, my daughter was very happy to see all the amazing snakes and reptiles he had shown us.Very nice and helpful. Thank you very much travis.

Small business in a commercial office building. Very clean and organized, no doubt they take very good care of the reptiles. You get the clear impression that they know what they are doing here.Owner and staff come across as a tad bit disingenuousness and arrogant, although I would trust buying a pet from them. Prices are on the high end of fair market.If you are a serious reptile person, this place is for you. Not a huge inventory but what they do have is good quality.

One star docked because because all the people working here are pretty huge reptile fans. Which has a downside. You will never get reptile breeders/keepers to agree hardly on anything, so They very openly share their opinions and discredit your own fairly harshly if it's different from theirs. Doesn't matter what kind of experience you have. This kind of attitude really annoys me and comes across very snobby and arrogant. But so the hobby goes.As others have said. It's probably the nicest place to visit for reptile stuff in the greater Milwaukee area, even if they are a little pricey. I will always buy lights from them, their return policy for broken bulbs is generous and easy.
