For those that come ski to Granite Peak, please note that this hotel has been fully remodeled vs what it used to be 5+ years ago. Over all, hotel is in decent shape but nothing fancy. Our check in was nice and staff was friendly. We were allowed to get early check in and this was much appreciated. From there, things did not go as well. Upon returning from ski and trying to warm up in Jacuzzi on Feb 17th around 9:40PM, we found out that Jacuzzi jets were working but water temperature was bit warmer then pool. We stayed in the area for a little while and other guests told us how they reported that Jacuzzi needed repair with front desk staff. I did report on Feb 17th after we left pool area that Jacuzzi needs repair. We were told it has been reported and it will be fixed on Sunday (Feb 18th). On Sunday morning, we reported to same front desk staff that Jacuzzi did not work. We were told that “when too many cold bodies come from all day ski day, too many cold bodies pile up into Jacuzzi and Jacuzzi cools down, so people complain and it feels cold”. This is exactly what we were told.We finished skiing on Sunday (Feb 18th) and upon return to this hotel, we asked front desk staff if Jacuzzi was operational. We were told that it has not been and that entire Jacuzzi needs repair and it will cost around $7,000.00 as someone has stuffed towel(s) into Jacuzzi jets last night and that pump is broken. This was not true as we stayed in the pool and Jacuzzi area until just about close (11:00PM on Feb 17th) and while its possible someone could do that, we sensed we were given dishonest feedback. We have booked this hotel only because hotel offers pool and Jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is so needed after a cold and long day skiing for our family. We planned our stay on the night of Feb 18th with plan and intent to maximize use and enjoyment of Jacuzzi, which we were not able to enjoy it for our entire stay.Upon check out on Feb 19th, around 10:30AM, we informed front desk staff that we booked this location due to amenities which we did not get to experience and asked if they can at least give us some credit. Front desk staff offered us $30.00 credit for three (3) rooms or $10 per room / $5 credit per night. I refused and said that I will call Hotel GM Cindy K.Called Cindy K (GM) as we were driving back home. GM refused to accept any ownership and said that broken Jacuzzi is beyond her/property control. She refused to give any credit and kept telling that they do not provide refund. We never asked for refund. We asked for credit as we did not get to use amenities at all. I kindly told her that we could have booked any other hotel with no Jacuzzi and our stay would have been $50+ cheaper. My humble take is that competent GM along with owner of this property would know that having proper SLAs with local HVAC for critical infrastructure maintenance and repairs is a must. Also, hotel lobby was super cold over the same weekend, as heater at main entrance vestibule between two sliding doors was broken also. Vestibule overhead heater was being repaired on Feb 19th on our way out HVAC team took an entire unit down to replace. We had a hard time getting by as 2X4s were there, ladders and other big objects.Clearly, this property needs more key infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Competent management would make sure that hotel is ready for one of the busiest weekends in the season (President's Day Weekend) when most people come to ski at Granite Peaks. By planning ahead, a competent and experienced GM would avoid key amenities malfunctions and avoid dealing with unsatisfied guests. GM just simply did not care and was super cold. Deflection is a clear sign that this property needs to have GM retrained, as her EI and Customer Service skills are not there. This hotel does not deserve my continuous business. Also, not enough towels and restaurant was closed on Sunday evening (Feb 18th). Fellow skiers and snowboarders, use caution when booking this hotel.

Beware! They will charge your card even if you pre pay through a 3rd party, incidentals about 20% of the amount spent on rooms will be charged at check in day. Then they will double charge your credit card for all the rooms again the next day. Shady! All my coworkers and I 6 rooms had the same problem, so you know they do it to everybody. This is a money scam, they hope you won’t catch it. I will never stay here again because of this. Can’t, its wrong

What a great location for a conference! Hotel connected to the conference center walkable restaurants and grocery store. The rooms are decent, a little dated but still have a microwave, refrigerator and coffee macine. If you need to sleep, specifically request a room that doesn't have a balcony/patio overlooking the pool and hot tub. You can hear EVERY conversation, every laugh, and every sound. What a horrible design idea!!!Food & drinks: Excellent restaurant on-site

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time absolutely no issues. This time the AC was not working in our room. After letting the front desk know, after that we got to meet Bob in maintenance! The passion he showed about this hotel is the best I've ever seen. Each of the Front desk employees were amazing and wanted to make sure they were doing everything for our stay. We ended up moving rooms, but had a great night's rest to start our travels back home. Thank you to each employee that we worked with, you definitely care about your guests! We will be back!Walkability: Restaurants, grocery store, movie theater all near by.

I came today and it was my first time here and it is a building with bones in it. For this tiny building with bones we paid $150 for two adults and one kid. The price of should be like eight dollars or five dollars. The coolest thing was the gift shop

I really loved this location. The gym was fantastic. When you have to travel for work it is nice to have a location that can keep you on track. The front desk staff were amazing and super helpful with answering questions. The room was clean and very comfortable.Rooms: Rooms were great! They were comfortable, had plenty of pillows (that seems to be a problem at other locations).

My family stayed at this Holiday Inn two weeks in a row and had great experiences both times. We were there for baseball tournaments with teams ranging from 9-14 years old. Paul at the front desk was very friendly. The rooms were nice, there were plenty of gathing spaces, and the hotel was extremely kid-friendly. The 2nd weekend, the hotel was packed for an American Legion conference and the staff took it in stride and made the hotel extremely hospitable. If I am back in town for an overnight, this will be my hotel.

I have stayed at this Holiday Inn twice and the rooms are clean and modern. My one negative about the rooms is that I prefer the AC to have a constant fan for white noise, which only seems to be in the rooms overlooking the pool. The staff are pleasant. The food and the staff are excellent. This is the best hotel food that I have ever eaten and they have a pizza oven. If I can get a room overlooking the pool, I will definitely stay here again. I recommend the grilled salmon with asparagus. The breakfast omelets with real potatoes were great as was the au gratin potatoes.

From the moment we entered the building we were excited to stay here. Everything is so modern, clean and new. The guy helping me book our room was beyond helpful and made the experience great. The rooms are spacious and clean. I last minute had to ask for a bassinet and the staff was so great about helping us out. We were happy with our overall stay!

The moment I walked in I was very happy. Clean fresh bright. The front desk was very helpful. I was told online that it was pullout for my room And I was surprised by a very very nice trendle bed! very comfortable for my 2 children. Only thing is, they have no sheets in the bedroom for the trendle beds. They will kindly deliver to you. The pool area is very warm the hot tub is very hot. The pool is comfortable I was actually able to swim with my kids. The food was phenomenal at the restaurant. This will be place I stay every year!

I rented a suite and there was no bedding for the pullout bed. Also there was no soap, shampoo or lotion in the dispensers. The restaurant was awesome though

Talk about a dumpster fire.Don't go here. This place needs some fixing for sure!! Things we needed were not fixed. Broken, etc. Even worse, the manager did not care!List of issues (i'm not lying):1) Our refrigerator was not cold. No freezer.2) Our A/C was not working correctly. Keep going on/off and not cooling.3) Patio door lock was broken. Unable to lock. We were on 1st floor.4.) Our tv remote was not working. Even replacing the battery did not work.5) The thermostat was not working. Kept on saying 'error'.6.) The bed sheet was dirty. Need new sheets!7.) One of the towls was dirty - had makeup. Need new towel!8.) Not enough towels.9.) Under staff. We needed stuff, and they said they were unable to come.We mostly stay at Holiday Inn and never have issues, but this Dumpster takes the cake for Worst!! Manager needs to be fired.Do not go here! avoid this Holiday Inn place at all cost.

Do not try to cancel your reservation from the email they send you. Since it’s an automated email the “Cancel Reservation” button DOESN’T work to actually cancel your reservation!! Then when I called the dispute the charges they couldn’t do anything for me. When I asked to speak to the manager I was put through to voicemail so he didn’t have to talk to me!! Horrible customer service!! I will never stay there again!!

I stayed here three nights and it was great, the building was recently remodeled so everything is modern and clean. No complaints about the room, I was very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful and the restaurant being in the same building is very convenient. If you’re staying in or near the Wausau-Rothschild area this is your best bet!

My stay was nice and comfortable. My room was a nice size for me and a few of my things. The front desk staff and housekeeper was very nice about refilling me with needed room supplies and answering my questions. I thought it was nice that Brandon the shuttle driver was able to assist me with my things and picked me up from the Stoney Creek hotel and drove me and my things across the street to check into the Holiday Inn.It would be nice if the shuttle drivers could take guests for city tour drives and shopping also.

I'd give it 5 stars- Only because my kid enjoyed the pool. It's a renovated hotel which is nice for sure, and I can say I had an excellent night sleep. The pool, hot tub, and fitness center was nice as well. Only issue in my opinion was the restaurant.. way over priced, and the breakfast totally sucked. As I stay at various Holiday inn express locations dozens of times per year, this was my only unhappy breakfast experience. Overall, I'd recommend staying here but keep in mind dining options in the immediate area are not good unless you're hip on fast food. Otherwise, it's an overly priced hotel restaurant option. God speed weary travelers :)

What kind of a Holiday Inn Express DOESN’T serve breakfast? And the restaurant isn’t even open for breakfast. I guess no one around here eats. And the rooms are dimly lit.

I got the Harry Potter room under the stairs on the first floor. Genuinely the loudest hotel I have ever stayed at. Constant kids running up and down the stairs, sounds like a herd of cattle. Drunks rednecks stumbling back from the bar, trashily yacking about how pretty the bartender was. And people standing in the halls talking all night trying to figure out how to cheat on their spouse. Last time for this place.Noteworthy details: Loud. Not a place for rest on a hectic business trip that's for sure.

This is a nicer property. I have historically avoided Holiday Inns because they are often run down. This property has been nicely updated. My room was a king bed with a sofa bed. Bed was great - lots of room. Best part was a pull out desk/table that allowed me to move it to have room to do work in my room. I would recommend and would stay here again.
