There is no lifeguard. Swim at your own risk. The thrill is jumping from the rock formations into the water. If you act wisely and choose the safe jumps, you will enjoy yourself. However, over the years, many people have died here. They closed this quarry for many years as a result. I didn't swim, took my grandson with his parents' permission. There is no beach, no public restroom, no dog park, no picnic area, no playground, this is an old quarry.

Wow! This is a neat place, we hiked around the whole thing. Watched locals swim..and DIVE .Just be safe and smart here. RIP to those who have lost there lives here.

Perfect for advanced swimmers. Not a good idea to drink, and swim, or test out your buoyancy or your name may be added to the memorial plaque. 😬

This is a very neat location. Unfortunately the last time I went to visit here... It was closed off. I guess some people took advantage of it, destroyed stuff around it, and Redgranite closed it off to the public. This is an amazing spot for swimming and fishing. Truly ashamed that people spray painted and destroyed this location.

The quarry is closed due to out of control partiers and demonstrations over the last few months troubles. Someone is attempting to make improvements to the land and have cut down too many poplar trees for the stated purpose.Still as gorgeous as ever except for a large increase in graffiti. At least most of it is not profane.

Always a fun time. You can look up dive videos on YouTube to get a glimpse of what you're swimming above. I've been going here awhile way before they revamped it. I believe more people need to go here to swim & have a good, relaxing day. Don't drink & swim. Be safe & responsible. Yes. People have died. It's extremely unfortunate & sad, my condolences. But the point is be safe, make responsible choices, wear a life jacket if you can't swim. Bring a floatie! Pack a snack, bring plenty of water & sunscreen and enjoy FREE entertainment. Thank the host city by enjoy what it has to offer. On Wisconsin. Don't litter and don't bring glass!

Unreal swimming area, probably the best in Wisconsin. Many drive up over three hours from Madison to swim and dive here. The walk around the lake quarry is very beautiful and great for photo shoots and fishing.This is cold spring fed which means it's super clean but unfortunately the deep water is very cold so you must be careful not to dive too deep for fear of muscle cramps. Also you should not try to jump over rocks to make it to there water as you would not want to injure yourself or encourage others to do so. There are plenty of safe places to jump from but there have been about two dozen deaths over the years. There have always been hundreds of people here every time I've gone but no lifeguards. Red Granite really should do a fundraiser for hiring lifeguards throughout the summer, I'm sure they would easily raise enough money and it would be far safer and the jump spots far more regulated.

It was a beautiful place until they decimated all the trees. The water & the rocks make a beautiful area, I still enjoy going there, but the trees is a loss.

Beware the water, it can and will kill you. Over 18 people have died here since 1978. Simply be safe when you swim, don't get drunk and watch your children.It's very nice, just pick up your trash!

What a beautiful swimming hole. Dont even get in the water if you arent a confident swimmer though. Its very deep and you have to pull yourself up out of the water.

This place is definitely open now, just visited and it’s Memorial Day May 30 2022! Having a good time already on first visit. Cliff jumping, fishing, beautiful red granite rocks!

What an awesome cool place! My first visit here was in late winter and the 'BOOMING' noises of the ice cracking and echoing was fascinatingly eerie! The beautiful red granite rocks surrounding the water makes this so beautiful!

The best place in the state to swim! The water is the perfect temperature and so clear. There's a nice "diving board" style platform to jump in and also a few walk-in areas...and yes plenty of great cliff diving spots. Our family always enjoys a visit here, everyone is very friendly. Plenty of room for spreading out and soaking up some sun.

Totally cool place to go hangout. Small and medium cliffs to jump off. Beautiful place. Zero alchohol allowed. Really really glad the town decided to open it back up after quite a while due to trashy outsiders forcing the town to shut it down. KEEP IT CLEAN!

Beautiful.... Cool in the middle of the summer. Clean, clear, crisp. Great place to take the kids even... Nice little swim areas for them... Otherwise very deep. You will need to know how to swim.

This was a great experience. The kids and I went here to jump off the rocks and do some swimming. What is great about this place is it's free and there are all levels of jumping off the rocks. The only thing it's missing is a place to change your clothes.

Very fun, slightly wooded area with small cliff jumps and a little beach. Great place for teenagers, college students, and family alike. Be careful though the water is very deep.
