The easiest 5 star rating I think I've ever given a business, everything from the customer service (thank you Stacy!) to the absolute tank of a bird cage I got that somehow looks like a Rolls Royce was all incredible and this is the first cage out of several bird cages I've had that I think will last a lifetime, in human years.While I was in the final moments of cage assembly, my bird was already flying over and wandering into this new cage and has very quickly staked his claim, no arguments here!The attention to detail is probably the most impressive, they sent a well-put together packing list with instructions on how to assemble the cage properly in a neat folder and I had no issues putting it together by myself. Additionally, the cage parts and accessories were built and packaged so well that even if FedEx wanted to try and throw it off a cliff the cage parts would likely arrive unaffected, and if miraculously they were damaged -- customer support is top notch, very accommodating, and incredibly responsive.Overall, incredibly happy with my purchase and I'm a huge fan for life, easily a returning customer and have already recommended them to my close friends, only sharing online because I believe all domesticated birds deserve to live this kind of life of luxury!

Finding a great setup for my rescued green iguana was such a struggle. I wanted something fully enclosed to help her feel safe, but I also wanted something big enough for her to really move around in. I have other reptiles and have done lots of research and shopping, but I was really struggling finding something that checked all my boxes for this enclosure. I knew this was going to be my largest enclosures yet, so I wanted to make sure it was still sturdy and also good looking. Coming across Custom Cages was really game changing. I was really impressed by all the size options available and being able to customize all the materials made it even better. I was blown away by all the customization options and accessories they have available. The hardest part of ordering was narrowing down the options. Customers service was amazing, the very next day Stacy called me and went over everything in my order. I ordered the enclosure right after Thanksgiving and was prepared to deal with holiday delays but had no such issues, I had everything and started assembling the day after Christmas. Assembly went so smoothly as well, everything was well written out and with the added YouTube videos I didn't have any issues. I reached out to Stacy about some of the accessories we ordered and the response was quick and extremely helpful. I'm sure that I'll be working with them more in the future, and recommend them to anyone looking for an enclosure.

This is the second enclosure I've purchased from Custom Cages for my flock of six cockatiels. The first one was holding up great (and is now with a local vet and wildlife rehabber for it's second life), and I my birds are aging and not using as much space.They love their new Hybrid cage! It took the better part of an evening for two adults to assemble, but it's very much worth the time. Our feathered fam has been with us for nearly 20 years, and these are the best cages we've found.

I was looking for a bigger and more durable cage for my toucan as well as one that would allow for a divider for when we expanded our flock. Custom cages was the perfect solution for our needs. We were able to get a removable divider, customize the size to our needs and have a beautiful enclosure for our toucan. I LOVE that it is able to continue to be customized in the future should we decide to make it bigger. The stand gives me a great place for storage of toys, perches, etc. Stacy was AMAZING in answering all of my questions. Believe me I had a ton! She was quick to respond and was so easy to work with. During the shipping we did receive some panels that were damaged and the company replaced the damaged parts quickly. They have been an excellent company to work with both prior to getting my enclosure and after receiving it. I highly recommend custom cages if you are looking for a customizable and long lasting cage!

Great experience working with custom cages. The company is very responsive to questions and provides good customizable options for varied needs. The cages are reasonable to put together with two people. Once assembled they look very professional and are sturdy. We really appreciate the extra features, like having hoods and shelves hidden away to store equipment/lighting out of view. Background images are of high quality and look good. The enclosures are also holding temperature and humidity levels well.As a professional animal care facility we find this product to be of high standard for our animals needs. Custom Cages support has been wonderful in making arrangements with our non-traditional billing and payment requests.

First off, the customer service was top notch. From the very first contact to ask about available designs, up until the cage arrived, my calls and emails were always answered and the folks were extremely helpful and nice (especially Stacy).Secondly, the cage arrived exactly as ordered and all pieces were cut to exact perfection. Once you learn the corner connections, the rest of the assembly is a breeze.From my experience, if you are in the market for a beautiful, show quality cage for your reptile, look no further. I will definitely be using Custom Cages for my next cage.For reference, this a H3 hybrid reptile enclosure. It is 8 feet long, 30 inches deep. The stand and hood are 2 feet high each and the acrylic enclosure is 4 feet high. The color is Black Granite.

We LOVE the cage! Assembling was a bit time consuming, but a fun process once we got rolling. The instructions were detailed and clear, and all the provided tools worked well. The cage is roomy and sturdy, and the way everything fits together in a modular way is brilliant. Taking the hood off of our cage for cleaning or access is extremely quick and simple. No complaints at all. Construction is possible solo, but much easier with a helper. Our blue-tongued skink is going to love his new home!

My second time getting the bird cage from Cage by Design. The process of transaction/delivery was smooth. No hiccups. The assembling process was smooth too though It took me quite a while to figure out how to assemble the bird cage based on the instruction booklet since the booklet is generic one for all different kinds of their cages. I think my vague memory from previous experience of assembling helped. I happened to have some free scenery calendar. I placed them in the back of the panel (which is acrylic) to give some colors though I don't think my Major Mitchell cares that much. But at least I find it pretty.

I love my enclosure it is amazingly high quality and extremely well built and only took 2 weeks to recieve. I ordered a large cage from another company and regret it entirely after reciving my new cage there was a HUGE difference quality wise. After receiving my new cage i will never order from someone else again.

We puchased a deluxe cat cage so our kitties could enjoy the outdoors without being in danger of other animals or getting into the street. We are beyond happy with it and our cats are too. On the advice of Stacey at Custom Cages, we decided to pour a concrete slab to place it on. So happy we did . It works great.I must say, the cage was a little difficult to get assembled but once everything was tightened, it fit together perfectly. We are beyond happy with our purchase and would definetly recommend Custom Cages.

The bottom line is that Custom Cages makes cages that are second-to-none (IMO). There isn't a safer, higher quality, better designed cage on the market. Custom Cages is an excellent company, with kind and knowledgable staff, making outstanding products. If you're interested in more detail to help inform your purchase, we've included everything we thought might be helpful about our experience below.We share our home with a blue and gold macaw named Harper. From day 1, we knew we eventually wanted to get him a cage from Custom Cages. We finally settled on a design and purchased the cage and we couldn't be happier. The online cage configurator was really easy to use. I love that the company called before starting production to review the order and ensure everything was exactly as we wanted it. We went with rush shipping and weren't disappointed. The cage arrived in 6 business days (9 days after ordering). The only thing we wish we'd known about shipping (and it was probably stated somewhere and we just didn't see it) is that the packages (we had 9) commonly arrive in groups at different times. This information was on the first page of the documents that came with the cage, but the box containing that document arrvied last. We ended up calling FedEX several times trying to figure out why all 9 packages weren't delivered together, which we felt silly about afterwards. :)The assembly really isn't hard or complicated, but it takes time, patience, and smart plan of attack. The videos are essential for visual learners like myself; though the paper instructions are extremely detailed, too. We chose a 72" H 48" W 48" D hybrid cage with 3 Friendly Feeders, heavy duty stainless steel panels, a pull out floor and tray, and heavy duty casters. The size and weight of the cage definitely required at least 2 people for assembly. My husband and I managed setting everything up on our own, but it took a bit of strategic planning to get it upright at the end of assembly (this is the only time we really could have used a 3rd person). We can't express how satisfying it is to know our feathered kid is in a safe and secure cage where we don't have to worry about heavy metal toxicity, poor construction, durability, etc.It's obvious how thoughtful the entire design of the cage is. We're thrilled that Harper's water and food bowls are now easily accessible and separate from one another so that he doesn't get his water dirty so easily. I'm in love with the acrylic back panel since I don't have to worry about splatter needing to be cleaned off the wall anymore. My husband had doubts that we'd be able to easily roll the cage around for cleaning since it's fairly heavy and we have carpet; however, the casters actually work really well and the cage can be pushed around the room by just one person. I think the pull out bottom and tray is essential for a larger cage with casters; without pulling everything out, I wouldn't be able to reach the back half of the cage to attach perches and toys.During assembly, we ran into a couple minor issues (ex: a screw in the friendly feeder system that wouldn't thread). We reached out to customer service and they were happy to ship us the necessary parts free of charge. So far, all of our experiences with Custom Cages employees have been wonderful. Each person we've talked with has been knowledgeable and very friendly. We also had a couple recommendations to improve the paper version of the assembly instructions and they seemed to value our input. Now that this cage is setup, we're already talking about getting Harper a Suncatcher outdoor cage so he can enjoy more fresh air and sun.We want to say a big thank you to everyone at Custom Cages (Harper included).

I love my custom cages. I ordered two cages. One for 2 parrotlets, and one for a Goffin's Cocaktoo. It was easy to configure exactly the cages I wanted and the ordering process was easy. I opted to pick up my order at their facility to save on shipping and they were extremely well packaged and easy to transport. Assembly took a while, but wasn't hard to do. I love the way my cages look as they are in my main living space. I feel like my birds are in their homes vs a cage. Thanks Custom Cages for a great product and customer service.

CustomCages is absolutely the best in everything from customer service to enclosure construction. I recently purchased two stainless steel enclosures; one for my Blue and Gold Macaw, Sapphire and one for my African Grey, Ashes. The quality of the materials is incredible. The wire is beautiful and just as pictured online. I have no doubt my two birds will be super happy and safe outside enjoying life closer to what a bird should experience ( outside watching the wild life and breathing fresh air) while I am at work for 14+ hours.I can’t say enough about the customer service. My sales lady, Stacy and the Operations Manager did everything they could to help me get the enclosures set up with miles separating us. They were superb! Really! Never lost patients with me at all. And I did struggle with getting the roofs on! LOL!I also needed a door replaced due to a construction mistake. They were absolutely on top of correcting the mistake and super quick about it. They got that new door to me in a matter of days. Every interaction with these guys has been a pleasure. It took me 10 years of admiring and dreaming about these enclosures….so happy to finally have saved enough for them!!! Definitely will be getting a huge flight aviary in the future from CustomCages when these two get flying. I hope this helps anyone who is as I am; a normal not hugely wealthy person wanting to do right by their parrots, make the leap. You won’t be disappointed and CustomCages will get you whatever help you need for assembly if you struggle.

Custom Cages was great! I got a 4x2x2 for my beardie. The ordering process had lots of options but was also intuitive. After the ordering process, customer service reached out to me and was very communicative and helpful. (Thanks Stacy!) The cage arrived quickly and undamaged. The instructions were difficult to understand at times, but I managed to get it built and it looks beautiful!

I have made two large purchases from this company personally, as well as several for my workplace. First, I can say, the sales team and product quality is very good.However..... you are gonna pay a LOT for freight. Which in and of itself isn't anyone's fault (except the freight company's). But the service that goes along with freight is absolutely unacceptable. In my first order (in 2022), my delivery failed repeatedly with no notice, and arrived damaged (which was just left with no inspection or signature). By the time I was able to get a full unit (which was well beyond the delivery deadline due to the freight forwarders failures and refabrication of missing/damaged pieces). For paying approximately 30% of the purchase price for freight (which translates to THOUSANDS of dollars), I would expect better service from the seller, and the freight company. I was mistaken in that belief. I wasted 4 unpaid days of work to receive the shipment which was just failed. No updates. No notice. No attempts to coordinate. They just dont show up. And the sad part is that it seems that no one cares. No one, as in no one at the freight company, and no one at the seller.Fast forward to my order this year. When ordering, I EXPLICITLY stated that shipping delivery would need to be coordinated precisely as I had to take unpaid days off work. I was contacted by Tia by phone when my order was ready to ship. In this verbal phone conversation, I, once again, expressed the huge messup on my last order, and why my note existed on this order. To which, I was given two options: Company A which would have 2 day delivery, or company B, which would have 3 day delivery. I opted for the 2 day delivery. I contacted Stacy to get tracking once it shipped, which she forwarded to me. the tracking indicated a 2nd day delivery, as discussed with Tia. Awesome, solved that issue- OR SO I THOUGHT. Nope, no show. When I contacted Stacy and Tia, I was told that it was *my fault*, as I didnt wait for the freight company to call me. And the freight company just schedules it whenever they feel like it. So, apparently, the 2 day verbal quote, and the tracking number were just smoke and mirrors and are not usable by the customer AT ALL. And thsi was apparently *MY FAULT* for expecting two day delivery promised via tracking, and verbally by the logistics of the seller, and not knowing that the freight company is just going to arbitrarily pick a day to deliver. Fast forward FIVE days later, freight company scheduled to deliver between 10 AM and 1 PM. Guess what? NO SHOW. I called and they rescheduled to delivery by 2:30 PM. NO SHOW. They dropped it off in my driveway when I was not home between 5 PM and 7 PM sometime, for me inspect and moved out of the driveway in the dark. Guess what? Got the wrong part manufactered, shipped, and delivered. So now I have to wait AGAIN for the new fabrication and delivery.Moral of the story? You're gonna pay thousands of dollars for delivery to be misled, lied to, ignored, and have products misdelivered. Im an understanding person, so even if I was contacted to say "hey, its gonna be later than promised", I wouldn't like it, but Id appreciate it. I understand that the freight company drops the ball too. However, I didnt pay the freight company THOUSANDS of dollars. I paid CustomCages. And they dont go to bat for you. Instead, they give you quick delivery quotes (which arent real), tracking numbers (which dont give accurate tracking info), and you'll get blamed for it being YOUR FAULT when you believe the information your give. Its an utter shame, because I like the product, and am OK with paying a premium for quality products. But I have to actually GET the product to appreciate it's quality. DONT EXPECT GOOD SHIPPING.

I'm going to share a little diddy about getting a couple of enclosures from Custom Cages. I call them enclosures but in reality, these are displays, like super legit showcases for your pets. So to call them enclosures seems a bit dirty. The order went very smooth, we knew pretty much what we wanted so the process was fairly painless. I was told the they would ship in about 4-5 weeks. To my surprise they shipped in just 2 weeks. I got the confirmation email.... took a double take on the shipment....yep my eyes saw that correct, 17 boxes!! 17! They arrived in great shape and sat in the dining room for a few days as we gathered ourselves for what was going to be a long journey. Sunday morning rolls around and our son asked if we wanted to put them together....deep breath, "Sure". We unboxed an ungodly amount of product and neatly organized everything. OK, 4 people, 2 Displays.... and all day. yep. After a few take backs because I didn't follow the instructions well, the displays were up and looking fine! 8 hours, 4 people and every second was worth it. Imagine having adult legos and having the whole family gather around and build together. It was sunday church but we engaged with each other. Thank you Custom Cages for the glorious displays for our beardies and for the much needed family time you guys facilitated for us. You guys are a 10 star easy.

Our birds absolutely love their outdoor space. They have been funny because it’s been cold here but sunny. They’ve been literally screaming at us to go outside. We ended up putting a few heat lamps in there so that they could go out. They eagerly hop into their carrier (a rare behavior for them!) to go outside and when it’s time to go in, we often struggle to get them in because they want to keep playing in their aviary! Our neighbors love it too, all the kids love taking a step inside to see if a birdie will land on them . Our birds are so much happier having so much space to “bird” in.It’s seriously the best money we have spent our our birds!

We ordered an 8x4x6 cage for our Black Roughneck Monitor. This is our second Custom Cages cage, we also have one for our Carpet Python.We are very happy with this cage, it was even larger than we expected. After we placed our order, we were called by customer service; they asked the type of animal that was going in it, and confirmed where we wanted the vent and mounting holes drilled. The instructions were a bit hard to follow at first, but once we got the hang of it, it was easy to put together, and the videos were very helpful. Our package was missing a food dish, but customer service shipped one to us express and they were extremely pleasant to deal with.Overall the shipping was fast, quality is great, and customer service was a breeze. We'll definitely be ordering from them when we need more cages. Would definitely recommend. We have a very happy monitor!

My 8 Budgies love their new home! Assembly was a little tricky, but I was eventually able to figure it out. Building it and setting it up was half the fun. The materials are definitely high quality, and I was amazed at the speed of delivery. I had a hard time wrapping my head around the cost, but after seeing the final product I have zero regrets! It is absolutely stunning. I will never buy another "cheap" bird cage again! Thank you Custom Cages!!!

I have owned exotic birds for over 50 years, had several types of enclosures over that period, and without a doubt my new enclosure from Custom Cases is the absolute best--by far! Quality construction is just the beginning. The enclosure is well thought out with all sorts of practical features that make daily feeding and care, as well as cleaning, a breeze. And my Umbrella Cockatoo Samantha loves the new enclosure too ... never seen her happier.Custom Cages provides excellent customer service and support as well. Really good communication. The cage is well built and easy to build. It's really pretty amazing the engineering that goes into making this cage and the flexibility it offers. I had some small damaged in shipping which the company was quick to replace. They offer a lot of options and can pretty much build whatever it is you need. The lead times were reasonable and the price was as expected for the quality. My only issue was shipping damage and I pretty much hate Fed Ex anyways so what can you do:)

I needed to find a new cage for my cockatiels. Their old cage was an amazing piece of furniture, definitely more than a simple cage that I picked up at the pet store, but showing it's 20 years of wear and tear. I wanted something new, elegant yet simple, attractive but not extravagant, something comparable in quality to what my birds are accustomed to. I had my pets for many years and wanted to be sure they would be happy. When I found Custom Cages online, I was very impressed with their product lines. I visited their showroom in Neenah, Wisconsin last year and met with the sales agent, Stacy. She told me about all the cages, including an impressive variety of options that are available. I knew I'd found the perfect cage: Custom built to order, didn't take long at all to be completed, and looks amazing. And most importantly, my birds love their new home!

These are beautiful well constructed cages. I would not hesitate to get one , with some caveats for escaping birds. I got a Hybrid cage for my African Grey because of her ability to escape from conventional cages with parallel wires. Custom cages offer stainless steel mesh crimped at the intersections. However the panels have too much flexibility and have removable frame edges that are inserted in the main cage frame. That makes them easy to exchange, but also easy to pull out which my bird was able to do. I would recommend Suncatcher model for escape prone bird because it offers a regular door, and I would get all mesh panels, which can be secured with hose clamps around the frame. Sliding doors on Hybrid model are too flexible.Customer service is excellent, with many great suggestions.

The reason for a 4 and not a 5 star is the direction to put the cage together. It unnecessary to get this frustrated when you spend 6 thousand dollars on a cage.With that said, the staff was great and Stacey was able to provide me with verbal and written instructions which made the rest of the process less stressful.The quality is outstanding and l am glad that Reptile Rapture in Madison Wi had this catalog in their store.

I recently purchased an H# enclosure for my iguana. The customer service was great along the way. I always received a message quickly when I had a question during the build, shipment and follow-up.Our iguana absolutely loves the enclosure and after a week is still exploring the entire space to find new places to hang out during the day.I highly recommend adding a stand and hood to the order. It not only give you practical storage space, but really enhances the look.
