This is a great place and I have gotten puppies from her. I still have mine and they was always very well taken care of at the store before I got them. I love the puppies and other animals that they have. Everything is always clean and very well taken care of.

I have been coming to this place since I was a child. I absolutely love it. I have gotten multiple animals from Jean. Dogs. Cats. Bunny's. And many more. I have always been pleased and very happy. The staff has been amazing everytime I have been there. I love going there to see and play with all the animals and will most definitely be going back. Highly recommend

Wow, this place has hit rock bottom. We used to come here all the time when we lived in Menomonie, and loved it. While back visiting, we stopped in to pick something up. Excited to see the pets and what used to be awesome staff, we had no idea we would be walking out disgusted and disrepected. It absolutely reeks in there now, things seem very unsanitary, and the poor animals all look sickly. I immediately got puppy mill vibes this time around. Felt the need to get past the nausea from the smell to give them some love/attention, that they don't seem to get..at least by the person working today. We walked away from what we were going to purchase after being yelled at for picking up a toy, that was lying directly next to the cat cage (which anyone in their right mind would've thought had been placed there for exactly that). This toy appeared to have no tag on it and did not seem to be something for sale. So assuming it was placed there to use to play, we did. Until we were suddenly stopped with "DON'T DO THAT! YOU CAN EITHER BUY IT, OR LEAVE IT ALONE!" Not sure if she was referring to the cat or the toy, but either way the tone used and comment was extremely disrespectful. Really had to bite my tongue for this one. I wont be back, and will be deterring all family and friends in the area from this place. Love supporting small family owned businesses, but this is a sad excuse for that.

ABSOLUTELY horrible conditions for any animal small and big. They had 10 kittens in a small ferret cage meant for 1-2 small animals. Kittens were trying to move around and squeezing between bars too small for a cat. The rodents had no water at all. Each cage had no wheels or toys or hiding/bedding items. They had to attack each other to entertain each other. The fish tanks were filthy and had dead fish. I know the owners and I am absolutely ashamed of them. They deserve to be held accountable.

"Give that to me Hooman."I wouldn't judge these people when sending a 1-star review until you know all of your facts.5 stars 🔯🔯🔯🔯🔯I'm not allowed to have pets due to the landlord's contract so I help myself here. These people can only do so much but there is always room for improvement, anywhere you go.They have cats, dog, fish, birds and exotic animals. Equipment there as well. Bought three blue guppies in 2012 and end up getting cute little baby guppies that grew into adults.I highly recommend the staff to keep a consistant eye on the cats and dogs when people are playing with them. 2 kittens out at a time and kids must sit down to hold a puppy, that being said, I witnessed a boy holding the Dachshund pup in his hands and for some reason it slipped out landing on it's back about 1 or 2 feet high, ouch 😞 Maybe the parents should've suggest the kid to sit down on the floor to play with it? The staff was trying to take care of the place when it got busy so they didn't see it.The family is well educated and familiar with the health care system. Degrees for RN, CNA and a Masters. They raise cattle and run a zoo place with baby animals.I wouldn't judge these people when sending a 1-star review until you know all of your facts.5 stars 🔯🔯🔯🔯🔯

This store is awful with all live animal’s as well as fish! The store is only open 4 hour’s and not every day. Which mean’s the puppies are left alone the rest of the time. There’s a lot of reviews of people thinking these puppies are from puppy mill’s and not reputable breeders. And I’m absolutely convinced it is true! I myself had gotten a puppy from them that ended up having full blown Grand mall seizures and it wasn’t just once in a while it happened continuously it was very heartbreaking and I lost him at the age of 3!! I’ve also known of two other people that have gotten puppies and they had very bad health issues! They are not taken care of properly they are alone way too long puppies need human interaction they’re not meant to be alone and only see people 4 hours the other 20 hours they are left all alone!! You cannot get any information about the parents I absolutely would not recommend anyone buying puppies from this store! You’re paying way too much money you fall in love with it you go through the training you do everything right only to be heartbroken in the end. This store should be closed down and investigated!! The kitten’s are left in a bird cage!! The iguana is also in a cage that is too small it doesn’t have the heating it needs or the proper nutrition. The fish aquarium’s are filthy and there are usually dead fish in them as well. It’s a shame that the city doesn’t do anything about such a bad business for they’re community. Please people be aware and don’t be misled. Do not buy yourself a pet from this store. You’re forever fur friend is guaranteed to not be at the best health as you’d expect. Remember look’s doesn’t show you the inside’s.

I have had such good experiences with Pic-A-Pet. They have groomed my teddy bear dog for a few years. My dog is very difficult for me to groom because she such a wiggly little thing. They massage her before grooming and this settles her rambunctious spirit. They groom her beautifully every time her fur grows out. She loves Jeanne, who undoubtedly has a special sense about these animals. Her store is impeccably clean. All of the pets they sell are in clean areas with no overcrowding. The store is impressive and the employees are warm-hearted animal lovers. Such a joy to have found them.

This store does care for their pets properly, nor do they stand by their pets. Our puppy was sick, within a week of owning her, she began to have tremors and pass out. We took her to the vet and she had a a heart defect. We contacted the owner, Jean Secraw, and she said she would take the puppy back but she would not refund our $1,500 because she wouldn't be able to resell her due to her illness. She promised us that she would re home the puppy to someone who had experience with the illness and who could care for her with her health problems. So we returned the puppy in hopes she would find a home with someone who could handle the current health conditions. A week later, we went to the store and she had the puppy back in the cage, listed for $1,500 and was still willing to sell the puppy for full price and she also was not disclosing the current health problems. Jean Secraw is extremely manipulative and she only cares about the money. She needs to be stopped.

I would recommend Pick-a-pet for all your pet needs. The people there are very knowledgeable about what they sell and about all kinds of animals not just dogs. They do have many different types of pets/ animals. We bought two miniature Dachshund puppies, very very reasonable in price and extremely well kept and cared for , vet checked and she offers a pet package and the packages come with everything you need for your puppy, and they allow you to pick and choose what you need of different types of merchandise that fits your needs. Just a wonderful, helpful, and fun experience with all the family at Pick-a-Pet !

Bought a puppy from these guys about a week ago, paid $1650 before leaving the store. About a week in and we are several thousand in on vet bills, vet says it’s possibly a heart condition and they don’t know if the puppy will for sure survive. Might have an attorney look into options, because I don’t think they were honest when they told us he was perfectly healthy at purchase.

I go there to buy rats for my snakes. They also have dachshund puppies, fish, kittens, and supplies for your pets. I spoke to the owner and it's a nice place with good people working there that will help you out any way they can.

Absolutely love Pic A Pet. We bought our dachshund puppy here about 9 months ago and we adore him. He is in perfect health and is the best dog we could ever ask for. I 100% recommend anyone who is looking for a puppy to go to pic a pet! We will be back in a couple of years to buy our puppy a sibling :)

Lots of people and kids just lingering. Mostly good variety available. Friendly service and staff. Adorably cute puppies but no cats at all. Seemed sold out of a few reptiles as well. Interesting displays and items.Nice spot along the way.Didn't use any restrooms here.Wound recommend to others as well as will return as needed.

I was amazed when i walked into this place. Doesn't smell like your average pet store, it smelt more like a bakery LOL. The animals cages were clean and all the animals were happy. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The puppies had lots of room to run and play! I was very surprised when I went on here to make a review and saw the bad ones. I had a great experience! I will be going back to Pic a Pet! Great job!

I would like all of you to meet my precious babies. These boy monsters are my world and deserve only the best. I knew I had something missing in my life before we purchased them, but I didn’t know what that thing was.We purchased the black and white, adorable, little, chunky butt from Pic-a-Pet Plus first. His name is Turbo. He loves all things that include running, sleeping, singing, and picking on his brother. He has brought joy, love, and laughter into our lives. I’m so thankful for him! We enjoyed one whole year with Turbo before decided he should probably have a best friend!We purchased the tan and white, energetic, ball loving, Momma’s boy from Pic-a-Pet Plus almost one year to the day. His name is Bolt. He made our family complete and gave Turbo a run for his money.These boys are my babies and we owe our cute little family to Pic-a-Pet Plus. The boys love visiting the store, picking out new toys (how do you choose just one?!-Bolt), and getting groomed!Thanks Pic-a-Pet Plus for the awesome grooming experience and for everything else you’ve done for us!

It's great nowadays, clean, smells nice, animals treated well. It used to be terrible, smell horrible, and the cages were not clean, but now I think it's under new management, and has improved incredibly.We bought some Gerbils from here, and they lived for 3 years, and they were great pets.

I bought my dog there and I love her, but I was disheartened to later find out the lady who owns the place runs a full fledged puppy mill. Their prices are what you expect from a small pet store, but overall all the animals do not have good living conditions. If you love animals you should give this place a pass.

My brother goes to college up here and whenever we visit I always force my family to stop here. As much as I love playing with the little puppies, I can never recommend buying from such a horrible place. These “designer dogs” are often ill as they come from puppy mills and are not well taken care of by the staff. I often see very young children manhandling the fragile young dogs. Please do not buy from here.

My ex husband surprised me from a pomchi puppy from here 6 years ago. Before I learned about backyard breeders and puppy mills. I have no doubt in my mind that the puppies you buy here are puppy mill dogs. Nova was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease when he was 3 years old he passed away a few months ago at 6. Health testing is important when breeding.

Disgusting store and ridiculous prices. $60 for a leopard gecko that’s clearly very underfed. Full grown painted and red ear slider turtles in smaller than 10 gallon tanks. Iguana in a cage that’s smaller than it’s length, kittens crammed into a small cage. Multiple rats in a tiny 10 gallon. Everything’s overpriced and not taken care of, don’t give them your business.

I see all the reviews concerning puppies, cats, reptiles, abuse. Everyone knows these places are puppy mills, people complain but support them with your purchases. Stop buying from there and the business shuts down... unbuy them out of business. Try visiting the SPCA, they care and you support a great cause.

This place makes me downright sad and disgusted for all of the poor animals in here. There is an obvious pattern with the reviews I have read that this place is neglecting these animals and that they are suffering. Not only are the animals treated poorly, but the customers are treated poorly by the staff. The lady that was working while I visited treated me horribly and not only should she be fired, but this place should be shut down PERIOD. The only reason why someone should go here is to take action in saving these mistreated animals. Please read these reviews before you even consider purchasing an animal here or better yet, take your money to a place that actually deserves to have business.

The only part I liked was that the puppies were put in a community open cage during the day. The employees are always super rude when you ask to hold a puppy and they always claim the puppies are on "break" even when the puppies are clearly not sleeping and want to be socialized. I have been insulted frequently by several employees and I have decided to not come back.

I love my puppy I bought from Pic a Pet in Menomonie, however I would like to know why female puppies are $100 more than Male puppies when we are not furnished with purebred papers and I was told I have to have her spade, according to the contract..that I never received a copy of. My puppy is claimed to be a purebred Cocker Spanial. Has anyone else questioned this?
