I stopped giving my business to goodwill years ago. Biggest reason… they exploit a majority of disabled people for cents an hour in their work force. The average pay for a disabled goodwill employee is under $1 per hour, usually around .10-.20-.30-.40 cents per hour. They justify this by saying disabled people just want to work and feel useful, and that they don’t really care how much money they make. It’s wrong. A disabled person should be paid fairly. Period. But yet this “so-called” nonprofit pays its executives six figure salaries or higher per year. Seems very backwards to me.The other biggest reason I stopped giving my business to goodwill is because most of what they take in for resale now is overpriced junk. They take whatever is dropped off, sort through nothing, mark the resale prices ridiculously high, and then just throw it on a shelf.goodwill is a nationwide corporation. We have plenty of locally owned resale stores here in the Valley that deserve our business more than goodwill ever should.

Was a pleasure shopping here in Menasha. April was professional polite courteous and helpful. Definitely a great visit will return to shop again.

JANICE (extremely tall old woman manager) follows customers around and acts like she’s above working here. Other employees (Farzana) are rude and shouldn’t work retail if they’re so bothered. The filthiest and most unorganized goodwill in the fox valley. The store was ran better before under different management. Avoid this overpriced, dirty, unpleasant and trashy store and go to the other locations. Corporate- if you get rid of some of the unsavory employees this location wouldn’t be so bad.

We shopped on Tuesday, Feb 7, 2023. We were going to purchase 2 pairs of men's jeans. These were under a sign that stated 50% off. We were at the register when I asked the associate, 50% off right. She said no, but asked manager who also said no. I said there was a sign there and pointed it out to them. I said then you need to take that sign down. Needless to say we did not buy them.Very disappointed.

Tried to donate here today as we’re moving and decluttering. A particularly old man came out with a cart but went through every item we were trying to donate and was turning stuff away. Said they don’t sell dehumidifiers? They sell other small appliances so I didn’t get that. Then went through the shoes and picked one (1!!!) out. Not a matching pair just random shoes that weren’t ‘good’ enough for him. Felt incredibly frustrated and like I didn’t want to donate to that location again. Very disappointing experience as I have donated to goodwill for years and never had a worker go through it and hand me stuff back.

I thought this one was one of the bigger ones and it was not so I don't feel as if there is as much of a selection. The clearance isle in domestics is always pretty empty compared to the other stores. I also came back after a few days and it was a lot of the same items. I would like to see more. Also I don't understand why the fitting rooms are every other one? In the end as I said before I was just there and yet had to take my bags out of the car. I saw the same brand and size sweater for a little cheaper way cuter but did not have a receipt in me. They seen me bring it in and would not exchange it for me so that really sucks. Come on goodwill. It's free to you it's a receipt with a color and the tags were on. Little disappointed

My boyfriend who shops there and spends A LOT OF MONEY there told me about his experience the other day and since he won't post a review so I will. He told me that he found an item that was perfect for my mom's birthday that was in perfect condition. The geniuses there slapped packing tape all over it so before he bought it he wanted to take the tape off in the store to see if it caused any damage. He asked for permission to do this and the process took him a slow, painstaking 15 minutes! The manager who gave him permission saw all of this. When he went to the register to pay he realized he forgot his wallet in the car outside. When.he came back he was told by the manager that the item was sold. Are you kidding me???

Slightly expensive but a huge selection of men's clothing which was surprising because normally not so much in thrift stores. Everything was clean. But like I said, for a thrift store, the prices were quite high. $60 for a rocking chair? $400 for a wool area rug, I understand, but isn't the idea to sell fast?

Cashier offer $5 coupon if I signed up for their card & said I could use it right away. When time to pay I asked if she took off coupon & said you have to log in & do profile first. Not cool!

They have stopped separating cloths. So lazy! And prices are just to high for a used donated shirt. I can get a new one at Marshall's or tjmaxx for a dollar more.

Store has rearranged not used to new layout. Not their fault but store was a little messy but let it slide because of two things: 1) in between Thanksgiving and Christmas and like everyone else short staffed. Otherwise can't complain.

Huge complex! The retail portion of this GoodWill store is around back or off to one side depending how you enter the property. Once inside, it's a good sized place with lots of second hand clothing, books and miscellaneous items to rummage through.I must say though, my wife and I continue to dislike GoodWill's questions at the cash register, concerning cash donations and rounding-up the total cost of items purchased. I'm sure guilting people in line at checkout for another dollar and change has proven profitable for the company, so we're certain this practice will continue even though unwanted solicitation is aways a huge put-off.Darryl & Christy

The VITA tax preparation at the Menasha Goodwill is terrible. After several years of having them help me with my tax returns I decided to have them do this years too. When I gathered all of my necessary documents and brought them to my scheduled appointment the staff refused to help me. The person there mentioned something about a code on my 1099 and that was why they could not help. There was no reason to not help me because this was still a basic return and should not matter. Stay away from these jerks, because it will take you more than a week to get an appointment, and they will then tell you they cannot do anything for you anyways. Complete waste of time.

You can always find interesting things to buy. I walk in there to grab one or two items and leave with a couple of bags worth. It was a clean and organized environment. The employees are very nice, although they need to be a little more acknowledgeable about where things are in the store. The price is a little higher than most thrift stores in the area. Also if your looking for men or woman's shoes or apparel it's often put in the wrong spots. Just make sure you have plenty time to search for what your looking for.

I wasn't sure if they were open today so I just stopped. I went in, it wasn't too crowded I just can't believe how much they charge for things there these days you can go to the Dollar Store/Tree and get stuff cheaper and nicer and usually same product/item. not used seriously I mean the prices are a little outrageous same item at Dollar Tree that one checker on I don't know it was okay I like a couple of the other ones that are around here there's one in Neenah and one in Darboy I do like those ones and they're not as expensive. Some things but not like this one. Was but anyways but the clerk that was working was very nice I just run in there once in a while to check on and see what might be in there that's about it plus it's close to my mother's house so this heat wave we're having it was nice to go in a cool store. If they priced items fairly. Guarantee they'd get more business and regular customers. Would definitely be a very happy place and busy. It was brought to my attention about the prices from several Ppl. So I started checking things out myself. At different GoodWills and was noticeable. Heard Oshkosh Goodwill is highly recommend. I don't know yet. To far to go if your trying to save money. Defeats the whole purpose really.

Not good. Stained clothes they wanted too much for. When asked to come down on the price the lady came to the front said she didn't see any then when I pointed them out she scratched them with her nails to get them off and said see its gone it was just dirt.

I like shopping at this location because of the variety of items in the store. They have many options for clothes ranging from x-small to 5x in adult women's. There are also many options for mens sizes, including 4x and 5x. There is always furniture available as well as other household items. The staff are always friendly and I can always find a great deal here.

Found this place and loved it but today was treated so rudely. When I got to the register, the manager came up to cashier for me and then the first item, I was told the sticker was not right. Ok fine. Then a wallet that a sticker on it and she says this also is a 1.00 more. Ok why is a sticker on it? She claims “ someone put it on there” She went through my items checking all tags as if I had changed them. Seriously!! Ive been coming here lots and donate items and spend tons of money here. She called the cashier back as soon as she was done with me. I confronted her asking why was the reason for that? Did you really think I was switching tags? She said no reason and walked away. I guess being “mexican” makes me a thief???

Walked in wiped my cart down walked through the glass and dish isle then got an important call and had to leave! As I was walking to my car a lady from the store asked to see inside my bag accusing me of shoplifting! Not only did I comply and they found nothing but I also feel insulted considering how much money I spend at Goodwill. I am very disappointed to say the least that they did that to a person who shops there regularly. If you want to go to a Goodwill there are better ones than this one!

Very unaccommodating. Bought a dresser end it was too large to transport with my vehicle so I was going to come back the next day with the work truck so I called them back to let them know and they told me that they would not hold the dresser till the morning they just couldn’t do it. No one told me that when I purchased the dresser and there was no policy posted about that. Bring your donation somewhere else

I stopped to drop off a donation, I grabbed a cart like I have many times before. A employee came out and yelled at me. I apologized and said I didn't know better. He continued to reprimand me. I will never donate there again!

Friendly people and they keep the store clean. I got electronics. they now have a plugin and test station in the store, so I could make sure it worked before getting it home.

We took a trailer load of dressers, leather chairs, cookware, high end clothing and were met at the door by 2 people that we’re nothing short of Rude, said they were not interested in unloading the trailer, we offered to do it and we were told that we are not allowed in the store, I have never been treated so poorly, a trailer load for a non profit to sell, will never go to that place again.

I think not, let's try very overpriced for their glass and cookware items it's absolutely appalling how people can donate they're items to Goodwill and Goodwill turns around and charges outrageous prices to the point that they're ripping off the people that actually buy things there! when it comes to they're Pyrex there fire King anything that has a sticker on it it's ridiculous way to be a greedy company never will I shop at any good will ever again!..

I went to the store today and tried on this long purple dress and the price tag ripped off. I really like the dress. When I took it up to the register to pay for the dress I forgot to bring the tag along with me. Knowing that they were going to do the job, the lady who helped us called for a price check. I knew the dress was about 7.99-8.99 but I thought they wete going to be truthful and ask. The Manager with brown short hair an older lady probally in her mid 40's -50's came and looked at the dress. She brought a purple tag that said 14.99. Clearly, this made me upset because I knew she way overpriced the dress. This goodwill in the Menasha area is way to overpriced for already worn clothing! Although I still purchase the dress, I am disppointed at their customer service. I usually am a fan of thirft shopping because it saves me a lot of money as a college student, but I won't ever shop at this specific store again.

Online purchases will often have handling charges that are in excess of the shipping charges. Experience dictates that the only Goodwill stores with reasonable shipping are on either the west coast or the MERS group out of St. Louis.If you are in Wisconsin, the shipping charges are high enough you may still be better ordering off of Ebay.
