This is the only place we go for food. Why? :Nice selection of alternate protein dry and wet food, plus a few types of raw diet options, discounts if you buy a case, flexible if you purchase food your pets don't like/won't eat. Also, the toys are a good range of prices and locally sourced, they have awesome handmade cat trees they can deliver if you're in the Madison area, AND they often have kitties to pet while you shop. 👍

MadCat is my favorite shop in town! I go to the Willy St location more frequently since it’s closer, so some of this might be redundant from the review I just left there, but just as true—they only sell high quality cat food and supplies, so I feel like I can trust anything I buy here. The prices are often a bit lower than even Chewy or Amazon. The selection is better than you’d find at other pet supply stores that mainly focus on dogs. The staff at this location helped me out a lot with nutrition and food recommendations for my cat. I take my cat here in his TravelCat backpack, he loves saying hi to his friend Jagger the shop cat and getting a treat from the staff.

They have all your pet’s wants and desires here!!! I really appreciate all the local vendors they supply. My cat is crazy about the hemp kitty pouches with catnip.

My partner and I love to buy our cat supplies here. They have a great selection of treats, toys, food, litter, and other essentials. Every toy we have brought home from Madcat (and there is a large selection) is loved by our cats. The staff is always so helpful, recommending litter products, certain healthy treat alternatives, leashes best suited for our cats, and other suggestions. The staff even helped us contact a local cat tree maker in the area when we first moved here! The shop cats are also lovely to watch and pet. I cannot recommend this place enough!

A local business that provides everything I need (and more!) for my pet? Yes please! I will go here over PetSmart any day. They are super friendly and answered all the questions I had as a new pet owner. They have a great variety of foods for my kitty and even helped me pick one out the first time I stopped in. Also, their toy selection is great and I don't feel guilty grabbing a little surprise for my cat every time I stop in. Plus, I get to pet the foster kitties when I come in the store. I love running errands here!

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have always had a positive experience. The staff are helpful and super friendly. They’ve even helped me carry items to my car when my hands were full!They also have a great range of pet products - mostly for cats and dogs - that you can’t really find anywhere else in the downtown area.

I was on a trip to Madison and this was one of the "must see" stops we walked to. Was able to find a cute bee toy for my cats and a ducky collar for my pup. I was impressed with the selection and would have bought more if I had had more room on my suitcase.

I love this pet shop! They have lots of cat supplies and even adopt out kitties in need of homes. I love that they have everything you'd need for a cat and extra stuff to spoil them. I come here for homegrown cat nip plants every year. My guy loves them. This place also features a lot of holistic care items as well. I find brands I don't see in chain stores. It's a great local shop. My Elijah and I love shopping here.

MadCat always has a cat who is available for adoption; we love meeting and playing with them. They are a wonderful local pet supply store specializing in cats and dogs. The employees are friendly and helpful.MadCat has an excellent selection of healthier and natural pet foods and treats. We buy our clumping cat litter there, as it is the best priced in all of Madison and refillable. They also have a vast selection of pet toys, health needs, and various other supplies, which is great for people who like to treat their pets.We took my parents' dog in once, and he was in heaven! He was so excited to be able to pick out a new ball, and got lots of love from the staff.Best pet supply store around, no question.

Great pet store, everything you need. My dog loves it when I have to pop in to get more poop bags because they always give him a treat or two. They sometimes have adoptable cats there you can pet. My dog says the new location is great too as it has much more room to roam around and look for new dog toys.

This is my favorite local pet shop. They provide a wide range of products, and the staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. Every store location has one or more cat mascots staying there and part of the appeal of the store is visiting the cute kitties.

Really helpful staff - walked me through cat harnesses and leashes, helped me find the right water filters and a good scratcher. Been back multiple times for treats, toys, and care items like nail clippers. Highly recommend for your kitty care needs (also have stuff for pups).

I always walk by the location on Willy street with my dogs. They love going inside, as the staff gives them treats. They are all super nice. I buy my dogs' food here too, and they always say if the dogs don't like it, I can bring it back.
