Thompson has been my vet for almost 8 years now. They've always made me feel safe bringing my pets in and are so welcoming! The staff and doctors have been so kind and understanding. I truly trust their expertise with my fur babies. Would recommend them to family and friends.

Thompson and their staff have always been accommodating and we have had to utilize the emergency after hours more than once for our little dog, Oscar. We had to make the hardest decision to say goodbye to him, and they were very sympathetic and gave us all of the time we needed to say goodbye. Dr. Jake is wonderful and I would recommend Thompson to anyone looking for a caring, capable place for their pet.

My Furbabies go here and you can tell there not just in for a pay check there because they love what they do and taken care of your fur family! They don't do anything else they talk to you first and if you don't understand , there willing to explain in better details. I recently had lost one of my furbabies in January due to the hard decision to let her go, I called them to let them know she was no longer with us and they where very loving and gave there respect to us and sent us a beautiful loving memory card for our Little Lulu. I sure miss that sweet girl, ❤️ thanks for the support and care for my fur family!💞 This only place been to in Lacrosse County so far.

I know everyone can have a different experience at the same vet, but my experience here was pretty terrible. I have a pit bull and he is adopted from a neglectful home, so he has a bit of anxiety and hyperactivity in his personality. I heard one vet call him a bad dog for being stressed out when they expressed his anal glands. It was also condescendingly explained to me how to take my dog on a walk. I left every appointment feeling like I was a terrible dog mom. I switched to a new vet and will not coming back to Thompson.

I live in Tomah but I don’t trust the vets around the area. I’ve heard many complaints about them putting in hidden fees and the staff not being very respectful, but i have never felt that here. I think they are fairly priced and the clinic is always spotless every time I come. The staff is always so wonderful. They’re so nice and you can tell they truly care for your pet’s wellbeing. I’ve gotten three of my pets neutered here and they were very informative. My dog actually ended up ripping open his incision and they rushed me in on the same day, right before closing. I trust Thompson’s immensely with the care of my pets health. I’ve even recommended this place to a few friends and relatives. It is well worth the journey over here.

I've never experienced such persistent attention like getting 4 calls within an hour to get test results back, the plan to get my hamster medicated, then to schedule the appointment, and then to move it up. Dr. Gary showed true care for my little guy when others might not see much worth in taking care of a hamster. He and the vet tech were very knowledgeable and gentle, and did not make me feel rushed at all. I knew I could trust Thompson to take care of my cats needs as well from that point onward.

Normally i have a fine experience coming here, although i am overcharged for constant "evaluations" even when we know what is wrong and what we need. The biggest issue is Dr. Jake, he was rude to my wife because after he performed an exam on my dogs rear end, my dog was on edge and reached out more aggressively for a treat that was being offered. He called him a bad dog and scolded my wife, Funny that DR. Jake wasnt rude to me when i came in, i guess he is only rude to young women. On top of that the assistant questioned why our dog (who has issues with his anal gland) would even need it "expressed" which helps release pressure and makes him feel and act normal again. The Vet staff is completely unprofessional, and i look forward to finding alternatives.

I cannot say enough about Thompson... They are compassionate, gentle, and so accommodating.My sweet little deaf, senior, rescue Belle has only flourished under their care after dialing in some issues that had likely gone undiagnosed previously.

Spent a lot of money on test and they told me she was fine and just gave me anti diarrhea pills. I tried to take her in for the 3rd time because she wasn’t getting better and I went somewhere else. Turns out she had cancer that caused her to bleed internally. How did they not catch that? My dog passed away because they didn’t catch what was wrong with her in the first place. The receptionist can be very rude. I feel like the vet doesn’t know what she is doing and just in it for the money. I would never take an animal there ever again.

Find another vet. My dog has incontinent issues after getting spayed at this place. She has a tapeworm that is the diameter of a dime at least inside of her after getting a check up less than six weeks ago at this place. One of the vets did not know the difference between herbicide And pesticide. Find a different vet.

I called in at a very early hour of the morning because my cat was in a lot of distress. I knew he had a urinary blockage again and this time was very distressed.I was told that they normally only provide the emergency service to their clients and I was worried that once they diagnosed him I would be told to go to Madison for emergency treatment (My other vet doesn’t provide emergency services). Instead they took him and said that he would make sure that Remi was going to all better and that he would hopefully be home by Tuesday.The doctors and assistants that came in to help Remi were very patient with me as I was completely exhausted and could barely talk or think properly. They didn’t show any annoyance at me during any part of the visit and stayed very calm and positive.I was extremely grateful that despite not being a current client; they took him in anyway and provided him with the treatment he desperately needed. I will be bringing my Remi here from now on.

Brought my tortoise Lucy in for an exam. She pooped all over in her carrier and walked in it the whole drive there. They were so nice about cleaning her up to exam her. Very knowledgeable about reptiles and tortoises. Lucy was in good hands and passed her health check with flying colors.

My wife and I recently decided to have our cat- Minnie put to sleep. We contacted Thompson Animal Medical Center and they scheduled the appointment very quickly. When we arrived, we were kindly greeted and shown into their exam room. The process was explained thoroughly and the attending staff returned a short time later. Minnie was given a shot which relaxed her. It was so good to see her free from pain and very comfortable. My wife & I spent some time with her. Dr. Jake and the assistant returned. They then administered the 'Sting of bliss' and we said our goodbyes for a time. I cannot stress how kind Thompson were to us during the appointment. The whole experience could not have been ANY better. The professional & heartfelt manner in which Thompson treated us, shone some light onto that dark day.

They are pretty good vets. My parents have used them for over 25 years. So when their cat looked unwell I took her their for a checkup. They were very caring and professional. The only issue I had was they were too busy. I had a hard time getting someone on the phone to make an appointment and it took a while to get in because they were booked out. But that seems to be a problem with most veterinaries around here now due to the labor shortage. They need to expand. But I am sure if it was an emergency they would have gotten us in right away. My sister also uses them and has many emergency visits. They have a good reputation.

My husband and I did not feel respected by the vet especially after the appointment he walked out of the room without saying goodbye, nice to meet you, or thank you for coming. Just walked out. The assistant was absolutely amazing and so nice. He had gotten a little mad that my cat didn’t like him touching her all over and said he’d sedate her next time and he didn’t say it in a nice way. He hardly did anything to make her feel that welcomed or comfortable but the assistant tried with treats. Price was good but overall would not come back unless I was able to see a different veterinarian. What good info I did get out of it all was to buy a tic brush and use that on her.

Just zero respect for clients. Just look at some of the responses they give. Went there with my cat, was told he had a broken hip but it would heal on its own and sent me home with meds. Well it didn’t so I took him to another vet where they said he would need surgery however the cat didn’t make it through the surgery. I only wonder what the outcome would have been if the Thompson Medical Center was competent and didn’t just disregard the situation.

My oldest daughter's companion animal just happens to be a bearded lizard. Super neat and super personable but obviously needing a specialty vet. These guys were one of few in the area or within the radius I'm willing to drive. I was apprehensive going there but it was amazing. Very knowledgeable staff. They seemed very concerned with the well-being of the animal and the comfortability of the owner. Any other patrons I saw had smiles on their faces as well. Will be visiting them again next year!!

Horrible experiences. These people are only in it for the money. My dog, who was only a few years old and healthy, became really sick with something and they sent her home after telling me she had an upset tummy...after doing a bunch of tests that cost over $1300. My dog was not fine and passed away shortly after they sent her home. Beware of taking pets here, these people don't care.

I have a very special puppy who is 4 mo old. When he was about 3 mo he recieved an injection of Lipto? or something like that. My poor baby had a very bad reaction ( severe pain) with the last time. I had another injection scheduled yesterday and I was talking to Cody Saphner the Vet Tech and told him there was no way I was gonna let my Cosmo have another one of those injections. Cody listened to my concerns and took time to explain to me WHY it was important for dogs/ puppies to have this vaccination. He offered to give Cosmo a liquid pain medication prior to the injection that was to work for 24 hours. I agreed...but still hesitant. My Cosmo had NO issues at all with this last injection. I am ever so grateful to Cody for giving my baby puppy this prior to the injection. Thank you Cody. We love you!!!!From Cosmo, Mia and Jasmine

My dog had a medical emergency and my regular vet told us what to do then to call back for further info. They were unresponsive to my callback, so I called around to other vets for help. Several clinics wouldnt help but Dr. Thompson and his staff took the time to figure out what my dog ate and how I should proceed. I am so thankful for this clinic and the kindness they showed me, even though I was not a paying customer. I will be glad to give them my business in the future!
