Not a fan of the custom service. I took this gentleman’s advice about waiting a week after setting up a tank before getting fish. I bought a few fish today. He didn’t recommend the food I’m supposed to give the fish. He sold me fish I didn’t want basically because all the other ones are under observation. Told me to wait on getting snail’s until there was algae in the tank. Clearly I know what algae looks like via picture.Went to Walmart and asked them what to buy for food and they were very helpful.

I’ve frequented this location on and off for 15 years. The staff here are amazing, they genuinely love their jobs and animals. My pup feels like a celebrity every time we bring her in. :) The training is PHENOMENAL, my pup has graduated both classes. She gets nonstop compliments about her good behavior, thank you Jason! Please give huge raises to your staff because they totally deserve it. Oh did I mention grooming is pretty great?!

Staff was super knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I felt they genuinely seemed to care about the fish and having appropriate home/ space for them. It was my first time here and I most definitely will go back! Kudos to evening shift weekend staff! Yall deserve a raise! 🙏🏼❤️🙌

The employees are always so helpful, they take the time to answer questions and seem to sincerely care about you and are always there for you, especially Josh( the guy with gauges and tattoos, and I think her name is Jaimie ( glasses and always in a great mood and smile). I feel very comfortable there and cared about.

Lazy and unreliable groomers. I have been trying to get my dog groomed there since November. They have canceled my appointments several times with new excuses each time. My dog is a chow so not being able to see a groomer regularly can cause health conditions. They have continued to inconvenience me. They always cancel the day of my appointment. I am enrolled in Vitalcare for the discount it allows for the grooming. Seeing that I can never get my dog in to see the groomer, the monthly fee has only been a waste of money.

Went in spent over 200.00 on aquariums. Asking questions about fish etc and have never had a more rude obnoxious jerk who not once stopped to look at us. And had no time for our questions, wouldn't get the fish we wanted ..he said he won't because he's color blind ,wth. Asked another question because what he answered the first time contradicted how the tanks were set up in the store. His answer was "its what the boss wants it.Such a condescending guy. We bought my tanks left and went yo petsmart and got everything else needed and were treated with respect.

I usually have good experiences here, but not today.I purchased a Betta fish yesterday and it was dead by morning.I placed the fish in a cup with some water, drove the six minutes to the store and told the clerk, Steven, what happened.Steven immediately started to interrogate me about the fish's tank.I told him it was a new tank. I filled a tank with tap water, waited a day, and then purchased and introduced the fish. (I did not tell him, but also had a Betta heater going, rinsed the gravel and tank, placed it out of the sun, etc). The tank was prepared as instructed in the "Setting up a Freshwater Aquarium"sheet published by Petco.He responded by saying "no beneficial bacteria then" and proceeded to tell me that refunds/exchanges are allowed only for a property established aquarium.Nowhere on my receipt (which I presented with the dead fish) does is say this. In fact, it says "If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund with proof of purchase." (I later checked the Petco website and it says that fresh water fish are guaranteed for thirty days if in a properly established habitat. Nowhere does it define a "properly established habitat.") The Betta care sheet provided by Petco does not say anything about tank cycling. The Betta care directions posted by a major competitor also said to prepare the tank exactly as I did and then introduce the fish. It also does not mention tank cycling or adding bacteria.Steven then asked if I had a water sample separate from the water with the dead fish. I told him that I did not, but just removed the fish from the tank and drove a few minutes (2.2 miles) from my house.Steven them told me that they could not test the water because it had the dead fish in it. I again told him that it was just removed from the tank and was not contaminating the water by decomposing.Steven then said he would "make a one time exception" and allow me to get a credit for the dead fish. He still refused to test the water, as if the penny it would cost the store for the test came from his pocket. Maybe he was worried the test would show the was nothing wrong with the water.I can certainly understand and appreciate why an employee would want to know if a customer needed instruction in how to care for a pet, but this is not how Steven came across.Nowhere did any of Petco's instructions indicate that I had not properly taken care of the fish or set up the tank. Petco's return policy appears to be based on the whims of a particular employee's definition of "a property established habitat" and not the 100% satisfaction (with exceptions for saltwater fish and prescriptions) as seen on the back of the receipt.

Very helpful employees. Very friendly also. Janesville store did not have the puppy food I was looking for in the big bag, but the employee’s helped to get it ordered for shipment to my home.

I went for healthy aquatic plants. I found 3 I liked but most in tank were dead. Associate said he was “giving them (the dying plants) to me because they’re already dying in his tank “ which I understand meaning “free”. I found out at register I got charged for all the plants and when I said something nobody would do anything so I paid full price for 4 almost dead plants!!!

My son accidentally scheduled a grooming for our Huskey here instead of the PetSmart where we usually go. She is a rescue, but has never had any issues with the vet or groomer. The PetSmart in Janesville always comments on how sweet my dog is. The terrible groomer here left her dripping wet and claimed she had "nipped" them, which, after three years with her was utterly ridiculous. While they didn't charge us anything, she was miserable, and my son's car required a full detail at a cost higher than the dog grooming he orders. Incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and none of us will ever do business with any PetCo again. They were too unprofessional to even give him some towels to dry her off, which is medical dangerous for a Huskey. Ridiculous...

Petco does not carry pet bird product of much variety anymore and only had parakeets for live birds. Your prices are some alot higher than PetSmart and for sure chewy and Amazon. Then the cashier guy looks at me with multiple items. Like juggling quantity without a bag, and he says, would you like a bag,🤔🤔? I thought that was ridiculous with the quantity and cost of the few products I purchased to be asked that. Then I got out to our car and looked at my receipt and discovered I was charged 10 cents for 1 bag. That's messed up! Your prices are already higher and Janesville PetSmart never seems that busy anyway. Head scratcher! Wonder why?

This is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Wisconsin and one of the oldest in the country. My parents enjoyed going here for decades. And I still take my mom who is 83. Although the steps which are steep and narrow (see photo below) will probably become an issue at some point so we will have to switch to take out rather than dine in.

This Petco is truly the best because of the staff they employ here. However I would like to highlight Josh specifically, he is knowledgable about animals and if he doesn't have an answer for you he will help you find it.. He was there the day I adopted my dog from the shelter, it was actually my first stop with her. I only had the slip leash they give you when you adopt and I had no clue what to get her. He helped me pick the best harness for her as well as the essentials (food, leash, treats, toys, ect.) and beyond that he even got Lucy water because it was a hot September day and she was worn out. Josh goes above and beyond for all the furry creatures he meets and treats their owners with respect and kindness. Great Petco with even better employees.

I took my 2yr old pomski in to be groomed Saturday; after being rescheduled from the prior Saturday. I am almost certain this is what resulted in my horrific experience. The 1 star is just so I can leave a review.The only groomer there (Alie) called that morning saying she needed to take a half day in a micro pushy manner, than said I would have to come in around 8 or 9am or else.. be rescheduled again. I was up, so decided to come in. She said she felt a little matting, which I was aware of. We agreed that pomskies aren't supposed to be shaved, but I told her she could shave around his feet and get the couple Matt's I didn't get to. About 2hrs later she calls and says she had to shave around his neck. One would think the groomer would call the parent first, before shaving a dog that she knows is not supposed to be shaved. I get there, and this lady shaved my dog completely to his skin from the back of his shoulders; to the back of his ears. He looks like a 4 legged ostrich!! I called corporate and reported her, and sent pictures. No one has gotten back to me as of yet.. she completely defaced my dog, and said it will grow back. Guess what? When it does... it will matt again. That's why I pay your employer to have you professionally care for my dog. You don't want to put in the work on a Saturday, so you completely shave him??this is unheard of. Corporate needs to get back to me aa soonaspossible. I'm already researching what leagle action I can take.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff; quick shopping trip. The floor rep helped me find the right catnip spray for Buffy the cat. The floor rep was honest about the differences in brands, and it helped me to make a nice choice. The cashier was also super friendly and there was no wait in line. I would definitely recommend this Petco location to anyone who needs pet supplies or grooming services, as both appear outstanding.

It is extremely expensive in there and when you buy a pets of any kind in there you need to make sure you ask questions because we bought a guinea pig from there which we still have him and thanks to our cats he has company because guinea pigs are supposed to be together they're supposed to have a mate or a roommate one or the other and it was very disappointing that we broke him from his family that was in there with him without them telling us you should have two guinea pigs and I have a chat not one....

Bought two fish from their aquarium and lost all my fish in a week. My fish caught every fish diseases possible from rotting fins to popeye. Had my aquarium for 11 years and do monthly maintenance.

My minature schnauzer Sugar was in today to get groomed. She looks beautiful and we are so very happy with everything the groomers did. I would highly recommend taking your dogs there!!!! I don't have the groomers name unfortunately but if you can please thank them for us and let themknow what an outstanding job they did I would greatly appreciate it. We will be back and thank you !!!!!
