Mounds in Janesville, WI. I went into the store searching for a new muzzle for my adult German Shepherd--the muzzle I had was plastic and several pieces had snapped, and was no longer safe for my boy to wear. My GS only wears a muzzle when he plays with his 25" horseman rubber ball! He likes to bite it and they pop! We are on ball 6 out of 4 years.I walked into the Mounds and was immediately greeted with a Welcome to Mounds and a huge smile by the cashier Jack K. I asked him where the muzzles were located and he said, in front of my register. Cool. Thank you, I said.However, muzzles are very different today than they were 5 years ago! Jack saw me struggling with which one to go with, and he called someone over to assist me; without me asking for help! It was Awesome! I did not catch the lady's name that assisted me, but she was VERY Helpful!I ended up purchasing a cloth muzzle, and to be honest, I believe it works better than the full mouth plastic muzzle I had! Again, I am only using it for playtime with a particular ball.Muzzles are great for protecting the dog and other people and dogs if the dog is anxious, unsure, or aggressive! It just needs to be fitted properly and the dog must be conditioned to the muzzle. Same thing with any training devices!Anyway, my experience at Mounds in Janesville, WI was very pleasant and awesome! I've been going to this Mounds since 2006, and have always had a good experience. But yesterday, Sat. March 3, 2024, was exceptional!Thank you to the 2 people that assisted me and Ace!

Almost always has what I need in stock (food brands) compared to big box stores who always are out. A bit pricey but worth it to not have to wait and watch for the proper products!

Mounds is the only local pet supply store that carries Fromm pet food. We've been using Fromm for years. I've noticed that our 6 year old mix breed dog's coat is as soft as it was when she was a puppy!

Always come here to buy the special, healthy dog treats for my boys. I love being able to pick out my own pigs ears. This is also the only place I can find my good bird feed bricks for my bird feeder and the only kind the wild birds actually like.

I enjoyed the fact that I had a great deal of variety in pet foods, in the price range I was already paying for a different brand that is difficult to find locally. I will be returning soon. My pets like the food. A couple employees just look at you without saying hello or welcome though, and at the register the only thing memorable was asking me to donate to Czars promise. I asked what it was, the person explaining its for animal cancer research. I asked " is it nutrition based research?" He didn't understand the question selling food products for pets. And was not thanked for coming in afterwards after I had mentioned it was my first time here.

Super helpful sales associates made the shopping easy! We adopted a kitten from Kadlec Ranch and they included a welcome kit from Mounds! $79 worth of kitty litter, dry food, treats, canned food and dehydrated food! What a blessing their partnership has been!

Have a great selection of products. I am especially happy that they carry dry and wet food that is chicken meal free for cats. One of the only stores other than the vet that have this special food for the small community of cats with chicken meal allergies. Also love they have a great selection of toys for both cat and dog lovers.

All of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I have been bringing my French bulldog in since we got him as a puppy. Many members of the staff remember him. They make sure to take the time to say hello to him and give him love. My mom and I recently requested some jackets we put on hold which they were happy to do for us. We found some very good priced items as well. They always have unique treats and toys that my Frenchie enjoys browsing through. This is one of my favorite spots to go plus I get to take my dog with me.

On November 21, 2021 we purchased boots for our dog for Christmas. She didn't get them until Christmas and since that time, she has only worn them 5-6 times. These boots cost $60 and have lights on them. Well, the lights stopped working already and we saw the lights had a lifetime warranty. The velcro on the boots were also starting to separate. On Monday, we called the store and asked if we needed to deal with the manufacturer or if we could exchange them. We were told as long as we had the packaging and receipt, we could bring them back. Today, we made a special trip (30 minutes away) to exchange them. Today, the manager tells us they can't exchange them because their policy states wearables have a 7 day window. And she said we could look on their website for that. I told her that we looked on their website to get their phone number because it made more sense to actually talk to someone. I'm not going to look for a policy that I don't know exists. Apparently, the employee was wrong and they wouldn't honor what we were told because we didn't know the name of the employee we spoke to. This is clearly an employee training problem, but at the expense of a customer. We won't ever shop here again as they lost our trust, and we will purchase all our products online through Amazon! In ten years, Mounds won't be around.

This is our go to in town. Some things are a big more, like cat trees, but the food is usually below market price or right on par. Not inflated like the big box stores.

Everyone at this store is so helpful and friendly. We shopped here before bringing home our little rescue pup a few weeks ago, and they had everything we needed! I especially love that they sell options made locally. I will definitely be shopping here for our dog's needs.
