This is one of my favorite local breweries. A must-stop if you are in Elkhart Lake. It is a kid friendly environment. There are board games to play as well. We ordered a massive pretzel, which came with three sauces. The wait staff was kind and helpful.

SwitchGear is a fantastic little Brewery on the edge of Elkhart Lake WI. They had 17 beers on tap when I last stopped in, 14 of them are theirs with 3 guest taps. They have a great variety even with the barrel aged off tap....but they did have it in cans to go! The beer tender and the owner were awesome. They have a few rooms and an outdoor space for your crew to gather in or sit at the bar and start planning for your second flight. I had never tried their beer and this place was better than I expected for a small brewery. I walked out with both bourbon barrels, a crowler, and their homemade beer cheese spread.

The perfect stop near Elkhart Lake for a drink, tons of great brews that were all different styles and the bar tender/ manager were both really friendly! I didn’t try their pizza yet but I think I need to next time I visit 😁

We stopped in while waiting for check-in time at our hotel. My companion ordered a flight of beers, and (not a beer drinker) I had a glass of water. We ordered some totally yummy, addictive bacon flavored pretzels, and had a nice chat with the bartender. Sadly, it was too chilly to sit on their nice patio.PS One of the beers was a big hit with my companion, and he's pretty fussy. So I think that means SwitchGear makes decent beer!

Stopped here the other weekend and had a great experience. The snubbed nose monkey on draft was particularly excellent, and the jalapeño watermelon blonde was fun too.However I just want you folks at switchgear to know that I picked up a 6 pack of the snubnose monkey and every can was very oxidized, tasted nothing like what I had on draft, and had to pour them down the drain.I’ll return in the future, but I won’t be buying any packaged beer because it’s not worth the $14 gamble.

Nice spot with a good selection of beers to choose from. The beer tenders were friendly. The main bar area was quite busy so we sat in the connecting back area which also serves as an event space. Since there was no event going on it was a nice and quiet spot to hang out. Will definitely be back.

We visited this Brewery for the first time on 4/3/22 and it won't be the last time, a great verity of beers on tap and in can's made by them. Located in a small town with big time flavors and fun, friendly owner, and Dad, and very friendly people. Stop by and drink some brew, you won't be disappointed

A great spot for trying some great freshly brewed beer. Most beers are new flavors. A wide variety to choose from. The bar is in a historic building, great design and decor. A good selection of merchandise for you to purchase. Very knowledgeable brewmasters. A hall is available for meetings and parties. Stop in and check them out.

Awesome microbrew in Elkhart Lake! Good place to go and hang out with friends. Leave the kids at home since it's a small place with not much to do for them. Excellent beer selection!

5 patrons in the whole bar, which had already been served. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Another couple came in while we were waiting. He wouldn’t acknowledge them either. They ended up asking us if the bar served food. We said we were waiting to find that out ourselves. The bar tender made a snide face, shock his head and continued to ignore all of us. All four of us walked out without ordering

Took a lovely drive up the scenic Kettle Moraine drive, appears like the ace to be in town but we had to wait a good 10 minutes to be acknowledged then another 5 before our 2 beer order taken. The 2 gentlemen behind the bar seemed a bit overwhelmed but the beer was good.

Had a group of 5 and stopped in later afternoon on the 4th of July for a couple of beers. I had a Switchgear IPA and a nitro guest IPA from Hinterland. Between the 5 of us we must have had at least 9 different beers. Most of them were very good.

Highly recommend for all. Great atmosphere. Even my 11 year old son enjoyed himself. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming. Most importantly the beer is amazing!

Awesome skilled listeners. Which make great bartenders. The Switchgear brewed bears are worth a few planned visits when in town 4 wknd. To properly saver each. The only slight, would be, the verbal description lacks so much. A beer brewed @ Switchgear needs to be tried. What Switchgear considers an IPA ( not a personal fav) I truly enjoyed. Very clean finish. Trust me: personal interpretations, classic brews... Wonderful honest people. Lots of board games available. 🍺🍺🍺😁😇

Great get away. Whenever we visit Elkhart Lake this is a stop. Especially for the spreadable cheese spread. It is a hit with our Illinois friends. Look forward to seeing you again shortly.

Great selection of beers on tap. The Switch Gears Lead foot is a very very dark beer and is very very smooth. If you enjoy different types of beers, you should find one to your liking.

I had their pontoon pounder at a private event this past weekend in cedarburg. Smoothest style wheat I've had from a micro brew. Clean finish. As a national rep previously for ab. This an all around great product. Must Have if you are lucky to visit. Cheers

A great selection of in-house beers, and other Wisconsin microbrews. The brewmaster gives informative tours and explains the brewing process. Just a great place to meet people for an enjoyable time.
