We stopped at Petco since the other pet stores in town didn't have the tropical freshwater fish we were looking for, or they were still in quarantine. We were looking for a group of Cherry Barbs and hopefully something else with a little color, and Petco had four that were clean, healthy, and for sale. Petco's pricing is very reasonable with these little fish being under $3 each. We were so happy we even picked up an aquatic plant for the aquarium. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't say much about if they were knowledgeable as there was nothing technical about our purchase.

I was able to talk to the manager and find the crate bowls I was looking for. The manager was very pleasant to talk to. Also, assisted me with getting tags for my dogs. They also carry the dog food my new puppies eat. No one else in Eau Claire does! Definitely a great visit!

I found what I needed, but had to talk to the manager to find it, so that was disappointing.Petco NEEDS to add some POP to their aisles so customers can find what they are looking for.They also need to have a person at the register Full Time OR have a self checkout line.

There were at least 5 betta fish dead when I came in. It made me sick I almost didn’t buy anything but I had to for Christmas. I will most likely not go to this store from now on. You guys also had only 2 people working which is insane for the amount of care and animals you guys have and need. I am not blaming the workers I am blaming the management. The girl I talked to was nice and apologetic and explained how she came in and a lot of the animals had no water or food and how it was only her and the other guy.

Me and my daughter went in there intrested in information on the repitiles , the storw was very dark the staff were not avail we had to look for them when we were able to find someone nobody had any knowledge one employee directed us to another employee who also didnt have any answers they actually attempted to google an anwser which i had alrwady done i didnt need to drive 49 mins to eau claire for them to google an anwser for me. Probably wont be visting that store again.

I had an appointment for my goldendoodle for months. I went there and got told my dog was severely matted and that nothing would be able to be done. she showed me the exact tools i was using and told me to use them. So I left and bought my own pair of clippers and did it myself. after 1 brush stroke this was my dogs hair. personally i don’t think it was matted. saved money anyway!

My husband and I came into store after we found the dollar store next door was out of our cats favourite treats..Well aren't I glad that we did!I've never been in the store before, I always try to hit the cheaper stores to get the best bargain but I was really surprised by not only the good prices on what we needed but also the employee's who were working at the time.I really regret not grabbing their names before I left, I didn't have any intention on writing a review at the time (I've infact never written a review before!) . It's only on reflection that I decided to do this.I must of looked pretty lost because a young man came to me and offered me help. All I know about him is that he's from Chicago (we had a little convo about accents as I'm British and not from around here either.. I worked out that he sounded different too 😅)..Anyway, this young man was awesome. Super polite and helped me find exactly what my husband and I were looking for. Very informative, he told us all about the Vital Care plan and the savings it comes with.. It didn't feel like a pushy sell atall, he was genuinely trying to help us save money and give us a great service.. We ended up having a laugh with him as he checked us out 😊 His colleague who was there too was talkative and friendly too. They both are a great reflection on your store..We were having a rough time before going into the store, one of those days where everything is going wrong 😕, then this young man put a spring back in our steps.. I'm not even exaggerating just to be nice or something, he really is a fantastic asset to PetCo.DONT let him go! 🤣

Employees are always super nice. Lots of dog toys and usually the better fish selection out of surrounding stores. I enjoy going there!

ok deals ok employee personality however a lot of employees lacking true knowledge of the pets. however manager has severe issues lack of communication lack of courteous help. the female manager flipped out on me when I asked about a product and when the product would be in store the item was a CO2 fluval. reason why I asked when the item would be in store because the item sat empty with just a price tag and no product for over a year when I asked about it she flipped out at me and kicked me out of store. I would not recommend buying anything from the store their fish are horribly taken care of the tanks are always down due to some sickness or illness. a huge amount of product is always out of stock or never reordered and one asked manager gets angry I recommend going to PetSmart or tropical waters before I would ever step foot in this store again.

Good place to take your puppy, kind of overpriced, what isn't now-adays, isles are slightly close quarters especially while their stocking. Staff is friendly and helpful, not a great place to "walk the puppy to pee" if its a long trip in, the dog park is within reasonable distance though.

This poor beta fish is half dead and it was $21 and I asked if I could get a discount since it’s half dead and they said I’m no we don’t do discounts it’s just resting. I don’t think hardly can swim floating on the top bleeding is resting but ok

I was pretty sure the pets were allowed inside Petco but for some reason there's a ledge around all the glass of the cages for the animals in the store and an employee came up and rudely demanded that I not allow my pet to perch that to see inside the cages and if I couldn't do that that I should remove my animal and never return. There is no sign saying that small dogs or any other animal can't put their paws on the ledge that's on the glass to look inside. Obviously this female employee was being way rude beyond the realms of this company's policies because otherwise either the ledge wouldn't be there on every single glass cage or there be a sticker on the cages they would remind us to not allow the pets with their nose. My emotional support animal and I felt very unwelcome and saddened and went outside and cried..

Amber was amazing when I went to Petco with many questions about setting up a new terrarium. She spent over an hour ! with me helping me find everything I needed answering all my silly questions and showing me how to order the things on the mobile application that were not available in the store. I will continue to go back for her great service. Thank you Amber!

I asked for a restroom, the employee was very salty, and there is not a public toilet. It would have been easy to say it kindly.

I came in to ask about some fish products for my new tank. I went to ask an employee who’s name tag read Rachel a question and was ignored. I followed her thinking she might not have heard me until she went into what I'm assuming is a storage room in the back of the store. She came out with another employee snickering about how they had just euthanized a potentially sick hamster by dropping it on the hard floor. I immediately left. I’ll be calling corporate to tell them all about what a sick store this is.

Went to get my dogs nails done but they said her shots weren't up to date. I should have called ahead without knowing they don't keep up on that, but when u called they aren't very happy. So will find a more qualified place. : ( Her shots are all up to date!

Every time I look at bettas here there’s ALWAYS very sick ones, as well as dead ones. Yesterday there were betta cups that looked like they hadn’t been changed in weeks. Such dirty water you could barely see the fish. Half the bettas had such bad fin rot, they lost their tails & it started to turn into body rot..There was also a freshwater fish tank that had probably 10 dead fish in the bottom while there were still live fish in it. Decaying bodies with live fish.. nice.The freshwater & saltwater tanks are always gross too.These fish are in horrible living conditions. I’m not sure how this is acceptable or allowed. This is straight up animal cruelty.

Had beautiful goldfish that have been healthy for 5+ years. We decided to get a bigger tank and decided to add a few more fish friends. Went to Petco in Eau Claire WI and bought 3 new fish and within a week are tank was wiped out. Brought fish back to store the manager argued that they don't sell sick fish. However called a few days prior and the guy working in the fish department told me that yup the type of fish you bought from us are sick. Told us what we needed to treat it unfortunately we left for the weekend and when we got back it was to late. The manager was horrible!! Sad they hire anybody to represent their company. They definitely lost a customer today. Please read reviews and take precaution when buying fish from petco ask questions when they got new fish how long they have been in the tanks have any other fish been added recently etc have an extra tank to quarantine for a few weeks before adding to your other tank with current fish!

Amber was amazing with my grandmother. She helped her with our family dog. She helped my grandmother find the right dog food that our family dog wasn’t allergic too. She was extremely nice and made her day. Awesome customer service Amber. 👍🏽👍🏽

The service is fantastic there. This deserves a five star. The issue is I have a small 4.7 lb Yorkie. They charge the same for a haircut, etc than a huge dog. The price should not be the same to cut a Huskie than my small Yorkie. Plus I got my dog's nail trim. They charged me for a disposal fee. Disposal fee for nail clippings? Really. Again, the service is awesome, but I don't want to pay for the same service a huge dog gets. If you have a huge dog, maybe you will like the pricing.

We had a baby bunny that had lost its mom. I called Petco while I was waiting to hear back from the wildlife rescue. The lady I spoke with helped me with so much information to take care of the bunny until the wildlife center called back. Thank you!

The store was nice and clean, had to search around a bit trying to find what was needed.A young lady pointed to the area we were looking for. She could have escorted us there, a must in every business I worked or managed and still practiced by most retail stores in our town.Once we located the products we had questions, but no one was around. We tracked down and found another employee who was finishing up with a customer.After she chastised us she was with another customer, btw, who was walking away. She continued with that, I hate retail, look on her face.I obtained the necessary buying information on my phone, from Amazon.I know know when I need any pet supplies, just order online.Retail managers and employees. The one item online that can't beat you is attitude. Welcome to Petco, hello, thank you and a smile. Nothing can best customer service. More hours and better wages are controlled by your customers, not by who owns the store.
