The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center was very informative and full of amazing visual representations of what the surrounding area used to look like. The gentleman behind the desk was helpful and friendly, full of great tips too! If you have time (~2 hours) it was recommended to hike up to the viewing platform.

Visiting Seneca Rocks is something you have to do in the beautiful state of West Virginia. The Visitor / Discovery Center has nice restrooms and a lot of other information about Seneca Rocks. They also have a a nice souvenir shop with nice quality apparel. I have hiked to the top two other times but didn’t on this visit due to time constraints and weather but I must say it is different each time I visit. The fog or low lying clouds made for some beautiful photos.

It's a go-to place for me and Yogi. Being handicap, I don't hike much. But the trails within the park heading to the overlook are fantastic! There benches here and there. Even a good-sized rock to sit on. But it is all uphill, and a mobility scooter can not be used on that trail, but it is definitely good in the lower areas and footbridge. This park is beautiful. The picnic area is quaint and perfect.

Stopped here on our way home from Overland Expo East. We got a couple of shirts, stickers for our rig, and took the B.A.R.K. Ranger oath because our dog travels with us. The facility is clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of information about the area and different attractions. We took the hike up to the observation deck, it is a moderate hike with an 800ft. elevation gain. We will be returning to further explore the area.

Plenty of free parking. The hike up to the top of the rocks ( observatory deck) is more than a mile one way but it is worth the hike. Nicely established hike for people of any age Elders as well as kids.

Stunning natural beauty if you can hike an uphill trail to the Seneca observation deck. The trail starts from the parking lot and you can reach there via a short walk by exiting from the rear door of the discovery center.Parking is plenty (but it fills up prety fast as well) and is free.We got a map from the lady in the discovery center.Enjoyed the hike, lots of jovial people on the trail and the rewards are substantial if your knees can take the beating of an unhill hike.Highly recommended!!

The hike up to observation deck (3 miles round trip) was a good work out. Fortunately they used long switch backs. Nice views.The Information/ Education Center was a bounty of info. Very informative and helpful folks! Take your binoculars in case someone is repelling the other peaks.

A great time for the family and admission is free.They had a theater showing educational films, exhibits and an area for the kids to color, read and match rocks for a prize. A great place to spend about an hour.

There is a great trail to the top. About 2.5 miles round trip. GraduL climb off 890 feet.Observation deck at the top with beautiful views of the valley.You can go further up on the rocks if you are agile and experienced rock climber but it is dangerous.

A must-see sight for any visitors in the area.This location is right near the intersection of 33 and 28. It is down a long driveway with the parking lot a few hundred feet away from the visitors center for a good reason to preserve the sites. It is one of the prettiest visitors center I have ever been to. When we went there they were requiring visitors to wear masks while in the building. There was a table of masks for visitors to wear if you did not bring one. There was a movie running continuously describing the history of the military presence at Seneca rocks and it is worth watching. There were two park rangers who were very helpful and gave us several suggestions for viewing the rock. There is a beautiful view of Seneca rocks from inside the building through the large plate glass windows behind the help desk. It was clean throughout the building and there were many great visuals. There is a trail directly out the back of the building that leads to several trails, viewing areas and sites. I highly recommend this to any fellow travelers. This is a must see sight if you are in the area.

It was a great place to visit. Lots of things to look at and do. It was child friendly too. Can't wait to go back for the guided snorkeling.

Such a beautiful location. It was a bit foggy and overcast when we were there but still very impressive. This formation makes me feel like I am looking back in time to when the Appalachian Mountains were young. I recommend this location as an awesome stop for you. Climb to the top and check out the view.

Very nice visitor center with a great view of Seneca rocks. It is a pet friendly building. Inside are some interesting displays about the area and the local wildlife. There is also a hiking trail and a historic home near the center.As of 7/4/19, there were no working restrooms, so you had to use porta-potties outside.

What a beautiful place to stop. Nice visitor center. Clean and good history here. If you zoom in you'll see someone standing on the top! There are trails to hike up there... I said ummm I don't think so!

The discovery center is the gateway up to Seneca Rocks. A place of history and information about the past to the present of the formation. Learning about how the military use to train on the mountain was really interesting. Clean bathrooms and vending machines also. Lots to see around the discovery center as well!

I hiked to the top of Seneca Rocks. The discovery center was great, people were nice and the facility was clean. The trail was beautiful and the view at the top of Seneca Rocks is gorgeous. I cannot wait to come back.IG: @anamorphic.perspective

We visited here on June 28, 2020. Unfortunately everything is stilled closed due to Covid19; however, we were able to walk the grounds and peek inside the windows of the old house.Can't wait to come back and explore once everything is open.

Neat place to learn the history of the area. The main area and trail are free to the public, so it's the perfect pitstop for any traveler in the area. One of the best places to Rock Climb!!

Definitely recommended going there during fall time. It’s so beautiful!!!Easy hike, takes about 1 hour to get to the rock.

Excellent starting point for your hike to the viewing platform at Seneca Rocks. Two areas to park but do not forget, there is a large parking area just down the road at the trailhead. The hike to the top is on a very well maintained trail so you should have no issues getting to the top. Saw many folks doing it in tennis shoes and one in sandals. The view from the top is incredible. You can go past the viewing platform and actually get to the top of the rock if you dare. Don't forget to view the homestead when you complete your walk. One of the best I have ever seen with and especially well documented garden.

This is an amazing place to visit!! The discovery center is beautiful and educational. The gift shop offers a nice variety of gifts, tshirts, patches and local books and cookbooks. There is a clean bathroom and an employee that can inform you on many things.There is a great view from here of the rocks, but it is also the beginning of the trailhead. It's a moderate trail and the views at the top are worth it.

Unfortunately the discovery center was closed but the parking lot is open and the area offers some of the best views of Seneca Rocks. I stopped here in the morning and the sun makes photography of Seneca Rocks difficult. I would try to arrive before sunrise or in the afternoon.

The discovery center used to have a larger gift and clothing section. I am not sure if it was limited due to covid and lack of funding, but there were not many items to chose from for our grandchildren visiting from Colorado. The view of Seneca Rocks was breathtaking as always and the trails were well kept. It is and always will be a wonderful place to visit and hike. It was a little disheartening not seeing a larger selection of gifts and clothing for out of town visitors to purchase. Hopefully when the "covid scare" fades, things will pick up for the tourists.

The discovery center was closed, unfortunately. The trails are still open. The binoculars outside are still available for use to view the peak.
