This trip was a much needed camping trip! We had a great time. We stayed on site 61, and there was plenty of room. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The park is well maintained. There are so many hiking trails, and the scenery is beautiful! If you are a Waterfall Wanderer, there are several "check-ins" you can get using Pipestem as your home base!

Really nice State Park. This is from the lookout tower. So many cool things to do. Golf, zip lining, hiking, water park, or relaxing. I would recommend this park.

Girl's trip to McKeever Lodge was excellent. Breathtaking views of the fall mountains. Wildlife while you dine on the premises. The service was outstanding from all the staff. The rooms need some updating but the views and activities on-site make up for the minimalistic rooms. Nothing fancy but a clean room to sleep...but with all the activities to do, sleeping isn't a issue. I will definitely return to play on the championship golf course on-site in the future.

Came here for a retreat in the fall. The views, facilities and people are all great. Decent size pool, Game room, gym, two restaurants. Lots to do without going far.

What a marvelous hotel experience! Every staff person we encountered from maintenance people to front desk to hotel manager or responsive and quality service oriented. It's amazing to run into staff people in all levels. Who's responses? Let me take care of that instead of I'll have to go check or it's not my job! The Lodge here exceeds the service levels of many four-star hotels where I've stayed. Some of the practical details include a dining room that was open full time through the holidays, pet friendly rooms and cabins, moderate cost for all the rooms and cabins and magnificent views with wildlife at your doorstep. Some of the service details we encountered while they're the stay between Christmas and New Year's: .The Cabin had a leak in the roof and we were immediately upgraded to two luxury rooms in the lodged to compensate. No extra cost. Our family was meeting in one of the alcove lounges and one of the maintenance people stopped by and offered to bring an extra table and chairs to set up for us. My brother had a medical emergency the first night and had to depart immediately. Also canceling his second night. The staff checked him out with no cost. Not even for the partial night! Amazing!I can't recommend this lodge highly enough! It's easy to see why we and obviously many other families come back year after year during the holidays. And I know the place is packed out most of the rest of the year, so plan on booking early if you want to stay here.

It’s truly an amazing park. They have everything. The aerial Tram ride was super fun . We are here during peak leaf peeping time and it’s beautiful! RV sites are spacious and surrounded by trees. The look out tower hike is nice and the views are incredible! Worth the 6 hour drive

We stopped by to see the Almost Heaven swing and couldn't help but notice all the great things this park had going. The lodge area was very nice and everything seemed very clean. We passed a golf course, mini golf, water slide, pool, driving range, tennis courts, and so much more! Kuddos to WV on having such fantastic state parks!

The rooms were well maintained and clean. Gorge views were amazing. So why two stars? Internet and restaurant. The internet was atrocious. Could not connect from the rooms. Was told to go into the hall. Sometimes you could connect from the restaurant or lobby. Restaurant: Pipestem had incredibly limited dining options and even that option did not have a menu just a sparse weak buffet.

We visit every year. Great place for recreation including riding horses, archery, paddle boats, zip lines, and more. Take the tram to see the lodge on the Bluestone river below and have a picnic. They have shuffle board and corn hole games also.Restrooms: CleanPicnic area: Several tables, two are under a shelter in case of rain.

Camped in site 15 have 36ft 5th 3 slides.A majority of sites have very limited space.I find it disappointing that the sites have tons of gravel in area of fireplace, picnic table. We had full hookup no issues.Would love to see update at playground. Its been a cold wet week of camping- Thankfully we were allowed to use the indoor pool at lodge for free. Its a nice size pool that was clean.

Don't miss your opportunity to visit Pipestem Adventure...4yr old to 84yr old in our large group and we all really enjoyed it! Spent 6 hours there and it flew by. Beautiful view, clean soft sand, clean water, lifeguards, lifejackets required for everyone, bring your own coolers, plenty of lounge chairs, and lots of fun. Restrooms are at the top of the hill before you get golf carted down. There is also a little bit of a gravel lined walk down to the lake that might be a little difficult for some.

Great get-away! Nice hiking trails, gorge views, activities for all ages, and friendly staff. We went zip lining and horseback riding and both were amazing. Donetta and Lindsay at the front desk were especially helpful and accommodating with booking our room! Only disappointment was that the Black Bear Bar and Grille was completely out of food the evening we had a craving for some appetizer like food and the restaurant doesn’t have a menu, just a buffet. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay and hope to visit again!

Park is beautiful. Some sites had electric only but ours had water, too. The dump station was closed so we had to pay to dump at a nearby campground. The swimming area was not anything I’d want to swim in. It was run down. The nature was beautiful in this area. We enjoyed sightseeing in the area. We rode the tram down into the gorge but there wasn’t much to do down there. We walked by the Bluestone River for a little bit. It was very hot that day. Then we went back to the top.

The activities and attractions in this park are great, there's lots to do for all interests and ages. My only gripe would be the lack of ease of information. The website needs more details and pricing available. And activity areas should also have more info about pricing and admission, etc. We had a blast though. Great park, lots of fun, super beautiful.Dog-friendliness: I had my dog with me the whole time and had no trouble..BYO poop bags but there are a lot of garbage cans available around for disposal once you've picked it up.

Great campground. Bathrooms were clean and very warm during our cold weekend. Easy to travel around the park and find everything we needed. Trails were great and well marked. Campsites were not very tent friendly, but that's common with electric sites most places. Views were great! Watch out for deer though, they are far more confident then they should be even for a state park.Restrooms: Clean and well maintained

Very relaxing, cool in the evenings even on a hot day, cabins are fun, rustic feeling, part of the lodge has been remodeled, enjoy a relaxing evening on the lodge deck watching the sunset. Fun par 3 and big golf course.

We have loved pipestem for over 50 years. The location is almost Heaven. Multiple activities make for a great family vacation. Golf, zip line, water adventure, and horseback riding are just some of the fun things to do. Lodging and cabins are great! (There's camping, too.) Cool nights and warm days await you. Go! You'll love it!

FANTASTIC VACATION! We stayed at one of the cottages and had a blast. The kitchen comes stocked with utensils, dishware, and glassware and has a full size refrigerator, microwave, and oven. Comfortable beds. Easy access to multiple trails and overlooks! Trails are clearly marked, and include historic markers. Definitely returning in Spring!

I absolutely loved this place. I did not call during seasonal hours so I didn’t even think they were able to get me in but they were definitely very helpful and they were able to allow me to go horseback riding before they fully closed for the season. I recommend coming here, especially if you are out of town visiting! It is great for families and even just two party people. Check it out!

We made it for the last day of the tram, in the last few minutes of the day. So many reasons to return: a bunch of trails we didn't walk, stables with horses we didn't ride... We did eat at the bluestone restaurant in the main lodge and had really excellent wait staff. The breakfast buffet probably would have been better had we not slipped in at the last possible second for breakfast, but the view was a feast all by itself.

Pipestem Resort State Park offers a variety of amenities, many of which are best used in warmer temperatures. They have a large lodge and conference center with a restaurant which we visited for lunch. The food portions were generous and tasty. There is camping, boating, horseback riding golfing, a splash zone and lake and a tram ride to name a few of the things to do.

Beautiful and relaxing state park with great views. You can rent cottages or lodges, go camping, or simply spend a day there. There's a golf course too. The best part is the lake. It has many water slides and activities for the whole family. I highly recommend this place.

This park is beautiful! It has a great trail running along the river once you go down the airtram. It is a little confusing to navigate at first; we found maps at the conference hall. There was a lack of direction and communication from some staff; however, Bob the ranger was super nice and helpful. They also had good ice cream at great prices. Overall, I recommend this park for a nice day out in the woods or for a variety of family activities.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it! I love the wild and wonderful sights of West Virginia and although this resort is a bit long in the tooth it is still stunning. The Area around the ground floor rooms lacked sufficient lighting. Pet friendly rooms had no exterior lighting for evening walks.COVID related infection control was stellar and the staff skillfully maintained food safety and physical distancing space in all areas. The Blue Mountain restaurant has a unique and affordable menu. Mountain Creek Lodge is just an Air Tram ride away. Enjoy trout streams, shuffle board, and play areas for all ages. Overall, it is a little bit of heaven.

Perfect mini vacation lots of kid friendly activities like heated indoor pool, hiking trails, tons of playgrounds, places to ride bikes and scooters, no need to leave premises for food. It's gonna be a repeat trip soon!
