My first trip into the Kroger at South Charleston in 30-35 years.I went in for a couple of items and came out with a few bags. I especially enjoyed the deli area with a wonderful selection of cheeses, deli meats, baked goods, etc.I've had a hard time finding good Pastrami. The lady working in the deli cut a thin slice for me to try. It was excellent.The personnel were very helpful and courteous.

This is probably the nicest Kroger in the Charleston area. I've been to them all and this is my favorite. Only complaint is that they shut down the self checkout terminals and create lines when there is no need. Must be a requirement for them or something.

Let's face it every Krogers I have shopped at is just like all the others, average experience and call it a day. Nothing average about the Krogers located at Ashton Place though. The employees are extremely good at giving there customers a top notch experience. The inventory is amazing, as the shelves are loaded with the best items available, stocked with things you just won't find in other Kroger locations. Oh, did I mention the Starbucks thats inside the store? Enough said, as far as I'm concerned this location is the only location...

We don’t have Krogers where I live, but every time I go to one I wish we did! This one in particular was amazing! Gorgeous interior, spacious, extremely well stocked, great bakery and produce, and very well staffed.

I always check the prices, the labels are constantly wrong. Every time I come in for a bigger trip there's always something I have to fix. Last time I got two waters and they were supposed to be B1G1 and so they rang up full price and the guy there said he didn't have the keys so I should come back tomorrow.. with the two cases of water. I asked him if I could just take two more since that would make it even.. he said idk how to do that. One time the cashier talked for literally ten minutes with a customer then she went to my stuff and I was trying to look at my phone, act disinterested and I finally had to answer her or be rude and she stopped scanning my things to go off on a tangent about what she just said. Ugh it's just a headache.

This is one of the nicer stores in the area. They have several special sections in the store.This store has a pharmacy also.Really nice meat department and bakery.Always seems to have the electric carts available.

Its a nice place and all but... I saw two people (one dressed up as Link, and the other Ganondorf) they kissed, then someone asked them "why are you kissing?" They replied with "we are friends who support Ganondorf X Link" I don't hate them for supporting it but, This is a Kroger- 💀

Store is fine but there has got to be a better place for your employees to smoke their cigarettes. NOT right in front of the store where I walk with my family. I feel like the side of the store or even the back side would be a much better option.

Love this krogers. Only complaint is that the feminine products are in the same aisle as the frozen meal. Very uncomfortable for a women of all ages. Especially someone who just got there period for the first time and is embarrassed about it. It should be with the rest of the womens products like body was and shampoo. Noone wants to buy food and look at a bunch of pads and tampons either. Lol just saying

The last several times I've done pick up it takes 25+ minutes. I could shop just as quick as it takes them to bring out my pick up. It's a shame, and I love using Kroger because of their credit card and rewards.

Worked here for a solid 3 weeks before I had enough. This is absolutely the worst work environment I have ever been in. The managers treated me horribly even though my grandma was in the hospital and wouldn't let me take off saying "You can't call off." "We need you." And basically threatening to fire me if I didn't come in. This place is a joke. Its filthy and there's not enough workers and now I see why. The pay is pathetic considering Kroger's is a billion dollar company. They could pay more just chooses not to. There's a man who works as a cashier there and he has a hard time getting around. He would have to ask multiple times to take breaks and lunches the managers would just straight up forget to give people their lunch and breaks. If you or your child is considering working here I highly recommend not doing it or letting them. This is the worst I have been treated in a work environment. I can't speak for other kroger stores but this was my first experience and I plan on never even shopping there again. I refuse to give my money to a corporation that can't even give good pay to there workers.

There is no doubt that I have to give 5 stars, wish I could give more. I visited there with a delivery of store shelves on 5/19/22. I dealt with Kim Ferraro at the receiving dock. The load I had for them was a mess in my trailer, Kim worked with me on getting their skids out, while moving other skids out of the way to get to theirs. This lady is a hard worker and deserves something for her recognition. It took awhile to get everything situated and rearranged but that is understood if you would have saw my freight. She is a definite go getter and knows how to take charge of the situation. When I first got there I talked to another fella that didn't want no part of it and just passed it on to Kim. I'm glad he did cause I'm sure he wouldn't have been able to pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel. Thank you very much Kim for all your help and hard work. If I ever come back to this store again I'll just look for you instead of asking someone else for assistance.

Love their selections from meats to specialized cheese. They are always friendly an dhelpful if you need assistance and I enjoy ahopping here. BUT I WILL WARN YOU the most disgusting thing I saw was this NEW Starbucks they put in, the workers which did appear to be very young in age were feeding eachother frozen drinks with whip cream behind the counter and even reached over the pick up area to spoon feed another girl standing there. I was appalled working in the food industry I know this is a complete health code violation and was a huge turn off. I will continue to go up the street to the other Starbucks but will continue to grocery shop for the future here.

Sat and waited at the customer service area for about 10 minutes for someone to arrive. The guy working the register right in front kept looking over but didn’t say a word. When I finally asked if someone was working this area, he said it’s shut down today. Huge waste of time and huge amounts of apathy from the staff at this location. There were also other employees that walked by and didn’t say a word.

Visited on a Friday afternoon. Busy with only 1 human register open. Don't forget, some people are either older or handicap and unable to utilize self checkout. Level your floor. It's bumpy at first and hard to maneuver a wheelchair. Natasha needs customer service training. Otherwise organized.

I’ve been shopping at this store for 15+ years. I’ve never ever had a problem until they added all the self-checkout registers, and took away real people to help check out my groceries. There’s rarely more than one or two registers open - how are elderly and disabled people supposed to check out of the store without help lifting? The self checks would be fine, but leave regular registers open for those who need help and are buying more groceries than the self check can handle.

Even after this store's makeover, the aisles are too narrow. Traffic jams abound. There is a lot of good merchandise in this store. Too bad I always feel like cutting my shopping trips short because the atmosphere is so full of tension. Like driving home during rush hour.

I find this Kroger's to be very helpful. I also find it very clean. I use the Deli weekly with a call in pre-order and have never had a problem. The clerks are friendly and very helpful. I really like this store. I gave it four stars because no one person, or place is perfect. If I could give 4 and 3/4 stars, I would!! keep up the good work folks!

This is certainly the nicest Kroger in the area. A wide selection of wine is available, sometimes with a specialist on hand to assist. There is a buffet and area to sit down and eat available if you need to eat before after or during your shopping trip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Clean, and well lit. Only downside is its popularity, so parking is often difficult at peak hours and shopping carts can even be scarce on occasion.

As of today July 21, 2023 the phone lines at Ashton Place have been down for 2-3 days! No mention on website. No alternative phone. I called another local Kroger for info and they told me to call corporate, which I did and representative seemed to not understand why this is a problem. Do you not have a backup plan for phone problems? Cell phones? I had to have a prescription filled at CVS as my doctor has been trying to call for 3 days

I used to love the South Ridge Kroger store but they have went down hill real fast. Less organic food now and fewer check out clerks which makes for long lines. The worst part is they went from a two bathroom store down to one bathroom that many many customers have to share! I'm shopping more at Walmart now.
