Decent store. Not very big (due to location) but they had a good selection. Was looking for LGBTQ fiction, which is difficult to find, but we ended up purchasing some DVDs. Clean and good salespeople.

We went to this location last week and once we got home we realized that EVERY SINGLE book we purchased was either full price or multiple dollars overpriced. They strategically placed all of their pricing stickers over the original retail price that is printed straight onto the book. This company is literally named “Half-Price Books” yet the integrity and honesty of being true to their own company name (and ultimately their customer base) is simply not there. I am so disappointed because I have been a customer of theirs for years, and this is not the first time this has happened with books I purchased from them. It is the last.

Great selection of books at affordable prices. I purchased a DND book here for my brother. It had an alternate art cover that typically fetches a high price but they were selling at an attractive discount. They also buy Pokemon card bulk, albeit at a very average rate.

I love this store. Not too many book stores are around anymore but I enjoy coming here. They buy old books, you can donate any books, they sell DVDs and vinyls too. All for reasonable prices. If they don't have it in this store they can look up if it is in another store. They have offered to ship it to the store for pick up or to my house.

Underpay the public for their used books and then increasingly overcharge for them once they're on the sales floor. Lie to people, saying that they'll "donate" the books they don't want to buy -- and then "donate" them to the recycle bin out back or to one of their outlet stores. All as per mandate from their HQ in Dallas, TX. Tukwila store is staffed by a bunch of overreactive militant crybabies with chips on their shoulders.

Was looking for Poulini's book, MURTAGH to buy. Had to order it.Also found 5 DVD MOVIES, FOR $2.00 apiece. Checked out everything in the store. Was quite busy, for a Wednesday. Checked out their written music shelf. Nothing was available for the kind of music that I was looking for. But, I still think that HALF PRICE BOOKS is a great place to get hard to find articles

Yeah it's not that this place is terrible it's just that I think they leave a lot on the field. they should have a sale on it every week you know especially like in the middle of the week. I know they're not as busy you think they would try and drum up more business. but you know some people think that work is just you know you don't have to put any effort into it all. oh yeah they're don't show up New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and Christmas and Christmas Eve. but I mean but do you want to do you what u want to like Coast like Costco. you know which is stupid because you want to beat out everybody else right well. how can you beat them if you're not paying attention. its retail it's supposed to be convenient for us not up to them. the customers dictate when people should be open. not when they want to be closed most people are off yesterday right? so maybe they want to go to Costco and get some champagne. isn't that what people drink on New years I don't know? Maybe they want some pizza and/or pasta ...

I haven't been to this location in ages, I used to live a short driving distance from it. I was in the area on an errand and decided to stop in. The bookstore is in the corner you could almost miss it. I managed to find some comics for myself even tho I told myself I was there Xmas shopping. They have expanded on what they sell in their store, I came across so many Harry Potter items. I was in a rush as I was running errands, but I really hope to make my way back again soon.

I love their clearance section! The rest of the store is great to shop in as well. My family and I have been patrons of Half Price Books for about 13+ years and always find great items (music CDs, movie DVDs, bookmarks, journals, graphic novels, collectibles and more). If you can't find what you're looking for in-store, you can check online and find what you want at Half Price's website. Their customer service has always been great for any and all questions. If you're looking to sell/get rid of your gently used books, Half Price can provide an offer to buy. (I have yet to use this service myself as of thiss post). With Christmas right around the corner, they also offer gift certificates for your favorite bibliophile. :) Happy shopping!

Lots of books but the whole 1\2 price thing seems really overblown. The books there are not particularly inexpensive. Fun place to look around. Pretty well organized, but if you think you're going to find Ludlum, Stephen King, Grisham, Baldacci and all the big names at bargain basement prices, think again.

Worst experience possible. I brought in 6 boxes of books and was told it would be approximately 40 to 45 minutes to check in my book and give me a quote. It was an hour and 45 minutes before I received a quote for 21.00 dollars. Next time I will just drop off my books at Goodwill and save my time.

I love going to Half Price Books, it’s so nostalgic. It is a hidden treasure chest of stories! This little bookshop is a bookworm's dream come true.First of all, the ambiance is so charming. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped by that delightful, comforting scent of old and new books. The warm lighting and comfy reading nooks make it hard to leave.But it's not just the cozy atmosphere that won me over. The selection here is surprisingly extensive. From vintage classics to the latest bestsellers, they've got it all. I ended up discovering a few titles I'd been hunting for a while.And here's the practical part – the prices are unbelievably reasonable, hence their name, Half Price Books! LOL. You can fill up your reading list without emptying your wallet. Plus, they offer a nifty little loyalty program for frequent visitors.The staff is a group of book enthusiasts who know their stuff. They're friendly and full of great recommendations. If you're not sure what to read next, they've got your back.I also, enjoy selling my previous books back to them for others to enjoy.Overall, Half Price Books is a gem of a store for anyone who loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. It's a delightful escape from our virtual world and you might just find your new favorite novel here. Highly recommended!

Love the selection here, it's always got gems that you cannot find in some of the other branches.-3 stars because I was looking for a book about cakes for my kid. The guy in the picture said none of the Half Price Books had it in stock.On a whim, I doublechecked the HPB online marketplace about 10 minutes later. Found it available for in store pickup at Half Price about 20 minutes north from Southcenter.So yeah. Great place.It's a shame this clerk lied to me.

It's a bookstore and you can't go wrong with books. Also please leave your dog (pet) at home or in the car parked in the shade. The isles are narrow and I saw a lot of people nervous because one person's dog.

A fun place to browse for books. Unlike other thrift stores that sell books, they try hard here to organize and provide recommendations. The variety of books is hit or miss, so it's more effective to find books to read than to find a specific book. There is also a decent selection of board games, movies, music, and memoribilia.

I LOVE this store. Stopped in when I drove past one day…I had recently decided to start reading a multi-book series and figured I might as well see if they had the first book in stock. Not only did I find the first three books in the series (it’s quite popular and I was not expecting to find even one, let alone three!) but the price was excellent and everyone who works there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I’ll be back for sure. What a treasure!

Great place to sell books/cds/games/puzzles I don't use anymore. Cash offer is decent for used books and they value the books fast.Their books are in good shape at this store and they sell games and journals and music.
