My dog is very happy. Typically, groomed elsewhere, he would act after the grooming like he was tortured. But after Rex appointment, he’s looking more comfortable and relaxed like I had sent him on a vacation. I thought I chose a little bit more length in the options offered but this shaved also looks pretty nice on him—most importantly he looks comfortable and there’s no after grooming-licking episodes which makes me happy to see. Thanks Rex.

Unfortunately, our experience with Rex is consistently inconsistent, and you never know what you will get. Initially, our first visit was great, prompting us to schedule a follow-up appointment with the same groomer. We provided reference photos from our dog's previous grooming session at check-in and upon picking him up, we were informed that the groomer had called out sick, and that our dog was seen by a different groomer. The outcome was unsatisfactory, there were uneven patches everywhere and they paid no attention to his sanitary sections leaving him cut and matted. Despite these issues, we were billed the full amount of $180, as if no mishap had occurred. They swiftly processed our payment with a smile. When I called back and asked for a refund and emailed the before and after photos, they begrudgingly refunded our card and responded by saying our dog was not welcome back in the future. Super disappointing.

If I could give it a zero, I would. The cardinal sin of double coated dogs - DO NOT SHAVE THEM. And yet. They shaved mine. This after I got rescheduled three different times, the third of which they already HAD my dog, then the groomer tells me she's "too tired" to groom her. I come in the 4th time, show the groomer all sorts of pictures and references from previous grooms (we'd just moved here, thus needing to find a new groomer) and he tells me it'll probably take about four hours. Okay. I get a call about an hour and a half in saying she'll be done in 15 minutes. They conveniently make you pay before they bring the dog out, a solid $320. They bring her out and she was almost completely shaved. Not even blended out or anything. Just. Shaved. She looked miserable. They also, for whatever reason, left her collar and leash on the whole time and allowed her to chew through her leash. No apologies or remorse for that either, even though she shouldn't have had unsupervised access to her leash anyway. Mind you, this was in May and I'm leaving this in October because I hoped and hoped that she may grow out okay. No. Her coat is irreparably ruined. Save yourself the heartache and money and your dog's coat and absolutely never come here.I've included a before picture of her coat from since we'd moved here (maybe about a month or so before the "groom") and the aftermath.

Jun is fantastic and did such a thorough job. I am very happy with the quality of work.The dog toys they sell are super durable and my girl loves them. We got the worthy dog brand giraffe and whale. 10/10 definitely going back. :)

When we moved to Seattle from Austin in 2017 after having an amazing in-home groomer, we were skeptical of all places. We researched quite a bit and took a chance on Rex. Almost three years later, with four to five visits per year, we can say with all confidence and reassure others that this place is one of the few that has amazing team members with great talent. They’re cordial on the phones, in person, and in every way possible.They are careful, thorough, but above all, loving, caring, and accommodating. We have a smaller of the “designer” poodle mix dogs, known for their fastidious coat, and she’s always been left looking amazing. We go in for a puppy cut (which doesn’t look like a puppy cut until after it grows in after a month) and it always comes in evenly.Take your fur baby here! They’ll thank you for it.Here are pictures of ours throughout the year with various lengths.

If you want to be rescheduled 2-4 times for the most expensive dog grooming place I’ve ever been to, this is your spot. I haven’t had one appointment in the last year here that hasn’t been rescheduled multiple times (many of their groomers quit which is interesting and said that rex treats them poorly). I’ve even picked up my dog before and heard them cancel multiple peoples appointments while I was there, very unreliable.I did give them 2 stars instead of 1 because they normally do a good job grooming my mini golden doodle which is the only reason we keep coming back, but after the last reschedule we will not be coming back no way to run a business.

I’ve experienced the same scheduling blunders as a lot on here, it was definitely annoying but I let it slide. But then they lost me forever after they cut my dog and didn’t tell me.I found the cut four days later, when the infection had started. Rex said NOTHING about it, and it was in his armpit so I didn’t see it at first. I took him to dog parks and swimming in lakes, all I would have avoided if I knew he had an open wound. It’s sizable, about 5cm, and now my dog is on antibiotics for cellulitis. I am so angry with Rex for not telling me and cannot recommend them to anyone.

Taking my tiny Bernedoodle pup, Olive, to her first grooming appointment was a highly daunting task in my mind. We had difficulty even finding a salon willing to take on the challenge, with her being so little and having a double coat. But the team at REX was responsive and empathetic from the start! They welcomed us with open arms and were patient with my new-hovercraft-puppy-mom anxiety.From the moment we walked in, Olive showed only excitement. The front-of-house staff showered her with love, making it slightly less heart-wrenching for us to part ways. Despite having some degree of separation anxiety, my girl didn't utter a single bark.Jun, our groomer, was upfront about the challenge of a full groom for a pup Olive's age but was game to try if we were. I had no grand expectations—just needed to cool off my pup for summer.Fast forward two hours, I returned to find Olive looking like she had spent a day at the spa. My girl was her sassy, comfortable self. She looked fantastic and was clearly smitten with the team at REX. Kudos to REX Grooming for their exceptional service, patience, and all-around magic-touch.

I spent $100 to have my dog groomed with my priorities stated as deshedding and sanitary trimming. When I went to pick up my dog they charged me first, so without seeing him I already was asked to leave my tip, which I left 20% as usual. When they brought him out I was basically handed his leash without an explanation of what was done or if they were unable to complete anything. My dogs backside was barely trimmed, his under belly wasn’t touched. My dog is now shedding more than he previously was, with a single pet bringing a handful of loose hair. The hair on his paws that was growing too long looks untouched. On top of everything my dog seemed completely traumatized on the way home. Complete waste of money compared to the multiple positive grooming appointments he has been to.

I had a fantastic experience here today. I brought my dog in for a nail trim and shopped a bit while I waited. The person at the register was extremely friendly and helpful, and the nail trim was quick and well done. The prices on the products were great too.

AVOID this place! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCEWe specifically told them to keep the hair long because we've been here before and they tend to get hairs too short. And this time they SHAVED ALL hair below the neck! Yes our puppy has some matted hair but we NEVER GOT ANY PHONE CALL that they want to shave her.And when we ask them, they were claiming that it would take them a whole day to brush if not shave. We have a small bichon puppy, if it only took me an hour to brush how come professional groomer would take a day?Why would I spend a hundred dollar to get my puppy shaved???My poor girl hide herself after grooming, all professional breeder and groomer should know the puppy would be so upset after shaving. Also it's not good for the dog's skin, too short hair would cause skin diseases and make the skin easier to get damage from sunshine!!!

I have a 50 lb Bernedoodle boy, Sunny. We've been going here since 2022. Jun, the owner, is so kind and gentle w/ Sunny. Sunny has had some traumatizing experiences at other Seattle grooming places (developed a fear of bath and touching paws) Sunny never comes back from REX w/ any sign of cuts or anxiety.We've taken Sunny to multiple other places in Seattle, and we've consistently had superior experience w/ Jun. Jun is also incredibly accommodating with his scheduling, and usually there are availability within just a couple of weeks vs. all the others places that are booked out for months. REX also seems to be able to hold their staffing vs. other grooming places constantly losing their employees, leading to groomers w/ no experience learning on the job.REX may be a little more expensive than other places, but well worth the price considering how professional their grooming is as well as the available spots for your pup w/o waiting for grooming for 2 months+.

A good place to take your dog or cat. Has 5 wash-dog -yourself stations, equipped with hose to deliver soapy or conditioner in the water or plain water for rinsing. Towels and forced air for drying dog. Be sure to use colorful band to cover dog ears to protect against drying noise I have never had to wait for a washing spot. No time limit.Also, a complete store for all your dog and cat needs.Jeff makes you feel welcome!

I took my Pomeranian here for a wash, haircut, and spa service (pretty sure this includes a blueberry facial, nail filing, teeth brushing and I think something else) and we had a wonderful experience. While Jax got the full salon treatment, I treated myself to a cocktail (or two) and snacks on the same block. I was surprised by how comfortable Jax was with his groomer, Nate, when he came out to meet us and discuss how I'd like his hair to be trimmed and what services I'd like because Jax was recently adopted and is a very shy guy. I picked up my shy guy a couple of hours later and he was in a great mood and seemed very comfortable. His feet & bum were cleaned up nicely and the blueberry facial did wonders on the small stains below his eyes. His hair is so soft and his haircut is instagram worthy. The services are a bit pricey but I would 100% recommend for more complex dog grooming and washing!Bonus: if your pup doesn't need full salon services, Rex offers self wash stations which look great and easy to use.Thank you, Rex!

The worst cut we’ve ever seen on Jack. Went in for an Aussie trim and came back to find him shaved like a cattle dog. There are ugly razor lines everywhere, it doesn’t seem the brushed his coat well, they shaved his ear and chest fur off ... they basically just gave the entire dog a buzz cut.

I had a great experience for years with Natalie! When I first got my cockapoo puppy I went to Petco to save money, until one day a new groomer there said my 6 month old puppy had too much energy and made her job impossible. My dog was buzz cut in clumps and it was an absolute nightmare. I called Rex (as it was in my neighborhood) for an emergency same day cut and they saw her. Ever since then my dog, Luna, saw Natalie every 8-10 weeks. Natalie has been amazing with my high energy dog, and Luna is always so excited to see her! It is expensive at $140 for a 30lb dog, but I am so sad I just moved out of the state because now I need to find a new groomer. Make sure to book out in advance. She is worth it for your doodle mixes!

Really awesome place. Been calling around everywhere trying to find a place that could get our dog in the same day to do some much needed grooming and every single place I called at minimum had a 2 week wait list and then I called Rex talked to the receptionist and at first I was told no availability but to hold on so she could ask if the groomer could fit in our Shih Tzu and 10 mins later i got a phone call telling me to be there in an hour and a half and they would be able to groom our baby girl. So a BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT THIS PLACE. WILL DEF COME BACK HERE IN THE FUTURE

Dude I’m a new pet owner with a 7 month old puppy… I get her nails clipped because it’s impossible for me to do it at home without stressing her out! I walk in and the receptionist grabs my puppy like she doesn’t like dogs lol like someone who looks at kids and goes “ewww” The first two times I went it was good it was under 5 mins then today I go and the groomer brings her back (a diff groomer than I’ve seen before) she yelps so loud in the back then he comes out holding her paw I thought he cut her I was stressed but he asks me to hold her cuz she’s wiggly then I do and we only get thru TWO PAWS he then says we should stop and no refund is offered. ALL he said was I think I traumatized your dog and she’s not a good candidate for nail clipping!!!!!! What an A HOLE I’m never going back here and neither should you obviously they don’t care about animals. This really was unprofessional and my dog went through so much more stress than was needed. Probably would have been less stressed at home. I’m not a Karen at ALL I’m hella chill, but this was just unprofessional and made me feel so uncomfortable! I can’t imagine how my puppy felt duuuude don’t go here, you get what you pay for.

Customer experience was great, they were very responsive and able to fit my two dogs in within only a couple weeks. However, the haircut on my goldendoodle is terrible. They cut his ears very short- I brushed his ears out the night prior to bringing him in, this was not due to matting- while leaving his head very round, it looks awful. The cut on the back of his head and neck is uneven so it looks like there's a weird bulge halfway down his neck. This is the first time I've gotten him back from any groomer and been this unhappy. Would not go back solely due to this experience.

I haven't had the opportunity to experience it yet. I went there to use their cell service dog wash. I called on Saturday to find out the details and they told me that it was shut down for the day and I should come tomorrow. So I went the next day and it was still shut down. I understand things happen and that's okay I just haven't been able to experience yet. I recently moved to the area so I don't know how their prices compared to other self-service dog washes but for my dog they told me it would be about $40 for me to wash my own dog. I thought that was expensive.

We have been to Rex three times, and gotten the service my dog needed-- a nail trim-- once. Nail trims are "walk in," but you really should not assume they are a service Rex offers.The first time we went, the groomer cut only the tips of my dog's nails because it was about "getting used to the table." This was not the full service that I had paid for, but I accepted it if I could bring my dog back and have the full service going forward.The next time, the desk staff told me-- unapologetically-- that nail trims are no longer offered outside 10am-4pm, when I had arrived around 4:10pm. The posted hours are 9am-5pm. To date, there is no sign in the store, no note on the website, and no mention on their answering machine of that change. I saw someone come in right after me and have to hear the same exact thing.The last time, my husband made sure to arrive before 4pm. He was told they would not be able to do our dog's nails, and that was all. He had to ask why, and that's when he was told nail trims are now only on Fridays and Saturdays.Three strikes. Never going back here again.

This is the second time Rex has injured my dog. I warned them about a cyst in my dogs neck. We get him home and they not only clipped it bad, but the cyst seems to be either gone, or exploded internally. I now have to take him to the vet this weekend to make sure he doesn't have an infection. I emailed the address on the website, only to see receive a notification that it's no longer an existing email address. The phone messages box is full too. Seems like a pathetically shady business now. I will never take my dog here again. This is the second time someone has injured him.

Took my pup in for a teeth brushing and took her in immediately, they then offered a nail clipping since I hadn't noticed she needed it, so that was really nice of them to pay such close attention to my little bean. Will definitely continue my business here. They also had lots of cute things and healthy snacks for your pets you can look at while you wait. Only took 15 minutes for both services. Great experience

Update: The team reached out to me to apologize and compensate for the injury caused. I appreciate the gesture and I hope they ensure higher standards of service and communication.————————————————————A week ago I dropped our dog for grooming. His hair was matted because of the gap in grooming (and that’s our fault). They made me sign a form that said small cut’s and bruises may happen when grooming the matted hair.After I got my dog home, he was constantly shaking his head. We called the groomer and they said it’s probably bacause they had plucked some hair from the ear. However after 3 days I examined his ears closely and was shocked to see injuries on both his earflaps. I took him to a vet and spent another $200 on the vet visit and medicines.I called Rex after that to inform them about this ask them why they never informed me about the injury. The person who answered the phone said ‘the manager’ would call me back to discuss. And guess what! No call from any manager.I don’t like to leave negative reviews but this has been a very stressful experience for my dog and us. I can understand if some small cuts happen during grooming but to never mention about a large injury and even after calling them about it, having no courtesy to explain what happened or apologize is over the line. They charge a very professional $200 but their service is extremely unprofessional.I’m never going back here. If you can, find another groomer. Someone who can hurt our pets and not show a tiny bit of concern isn’t worth it.

My dog LOVES her “spa day” appointments at Rex. She seriously has a spring in her step for a good day or two after each appointment. Today, we went in and were *thrilled* to see a little spa add on with tooth brushing and blueberries. Now my dog is the happiest she’s been in months AND she smells like a sweet little blueberry.
