I have been going to this store for years and years with my mom, and now that I finally have my own puppy I was so excited to bring him in to get supplies. It was his first time in a pet store and the staff was so sweet. Everyone was so kind and we found some great toys and an awesome harness. It was a perfect first pet store experience.

Friendly local dog and cat shop; my two huskies stop by everyday on our walk for a treat and a loving embrace. Great selection of smaller brand food and toys. We highly recommend stopping by!

Fantastic store, absolute 5 STAR staff. Went in for birthday cookies and a new harness for our Boston terrier, purposely went in about 1hr 30 mins from closing time to avoid other dogs as our guy doesn’t like being around other dogs. Mark and Atticus went out of their way to fit our dog with the right harness. Mark made all adjustments, and verified if the harness was a good fit or not. Atticus let other client’s know that we had a dog that wasn’t friendly with other dogs and that we were in a fitting for a harness in the corner. The amount of care they showed was outstanding. Our dog Guinness remained very calm with both team members, and even relaxed as another dog entered the store. He gave kisses to the staff and enjoyed his birthday cookie and new harness! Thank you for the amazing experience.

Enjoyable place. Very nice, medium to high prices, but quality stuff. The pet clothes are really cute and hip. And the toys and chewing apparatus selection is awesome. Everything looks of natural materials, and Eco/pet safe. The food is priced right!! And the selection fits the theme. The employees are very nice and professionally personable. All in all this place rocks!

Have always had a good experience here finding pet food and toys for my pup but this past week had a really above and beyond visit. I've been struggling to find a solution to my dogs food issues and when I explained that I needed help Cliff took the time to talk me through all the different options with explanations about how the different types of dog food are digested and the many offerings they carry. Perhaps the most valuable to me though was the plan/experiment he suggested I begin to get to the root issue. Tackling the what next factor felt huge and gave me the encouragement I needed to get to the bottom of the problem and onto a new track. Really happy with the customer service there as well as the quality products. Thanks!

This is my favorite pet store to pick up holistic health products for my dogs, dog treats, food, and accessories. Everyone that works here is very kind and helpful. When I first moved to West Seattle and walked in, a person that worked there recommended a vet to take our dogs and I am very thankful. I love taking my dogs inside after going to the farmers market and buying them treats.

After a harrowing day involving taking my cat to the vet for sutures, thankfully next to nature was still open. Christa and the rest of the staff empathetically walked my wife and I through every decision tree we went down trying to ensure a safe, comfortable situation for our kitty on the mend. This place has a great assortment of pet foods and treats, all good for your pet. My dogs love it when I bring them the yummy chewy treats featured here. They have a kaleidoscopic assortment of toys, beds, sweaters and leashes. If you are looking for supplements and natural medications you can very likely find them here. And the staff is lovely - always friendly and ready to help. Great pet store.

Whenever I come to West Seattle for my vet visits I always make a point to stop at Next to Nature Pet Market. They have amazing products for your pets to eat, to wear and to play with. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I'm impressed by the quality of the products that they carry and I would definitely be a regular customer if I lived closer.I look forward to my next visit and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. It's definitely worth the trip.

Next to Nature is the absolute best! My fiancée and myself love shopping here!We have been able to find several jackets for our puppy here. They have an EXCELLENT selection. We also get our dog food from here as well as we are all about supporting local businesses.They are a little more on the expensive side, but their clothing and jackets are much better quality than big box chains.The customer service is the absolute best! The staff is absolutely always cheerful and helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. I have met one of the owners as well. She was very kind and held our puppy for the longest time and got to know us.I highly recommend Next-to-Nature. Support this small business with excellent service!

I have three dogs and everytie we go for a car ride the dogs think they are getting to go to next to nature. my one dog penny can actually navigate from our house a few miles away right to the front entrance of the store and anytime we drive by on cal ave she just stares out the window at the shop in anticipation of a stop in. we love the bulk treat section and always take home a big bag. lots of other great pet products here and even items that are not pet related so its really a cool place to check out!!!

This has been our go-to store ever since we got our puppy 8 months ago. The employees are always knowledgeable about their products and willing to provide advice and guidance for topics we are not confident in. We had a particularly great experience with Whitney recently - we were so lucky to chat with her as we have been struggling a lot with our picky pup and she had similar experiences with her own dogs. We love that she shared anecdotes of what worked for her dogs, actively listened to what our concerns were and what we needed and then offered recommendations without being pushy. Hopefully our puppy will finally like one of his foods. Thanks Whitney + the whole store!

Big big pet store with all kinds of cool products. It reminds me of Mud Bay. I just wandered in not realizing it was a pet store, the vibe is very welcoming. I’d come back if I were in the area and needed something for my pet, or even just to look around and kill some time.

I used to work here back in highschool and the place hasn't changed a bit. Still amazing service with wonderful smiles. Everyone is saying hi and asking if I'm looking for anything in particular. They have lots of free samples for your pet to try. Everything you get you can feel good giving it to your pet because the whole store focuses on healthy and beneficial nutrition. Even if they are out of an item they have always been on the ball with giving me a call when it's in stock and setting it aside just for me. An all around amazing place for pets.

This place is the best. I take my dog Biscuit here at least 1x a week. Sometimes to get food/treats or sometimes on our daily walk and Biscuit gets a little treat and kindness from the wonderful staff. They’re always so kind and helpful and you can tell they really love all the animals that come in! We always have a surplus of treats because I love supporting this business!

The staff are knowledgeable and so helpful! Our cat has a super sensitive stomach and we went in desperate to find something her gut could handle. Their staff recommended a brand that might help (it did!) and a supplement to improve digestion, too (it also has helped!). The store carries a large variety of pet food options, supplies and products for cats, dogs, and other little creatures. Staff are friendly and responsive. Convenient parking behind store, access via alley.

Editing my review as of 2022! ❤️For the last year, always helpful, interact w my pets I have for the day, personable & sincere. They give me great suggestions when I have questions… from dog ice cream to the right type of bone.Return policy is pretty much non existent compared to other pet customer friendly places. I don’t know what happened to the lady that used to be there... but in my opinion it hasn’t been the same since she left.... so I’m changing my review.

Great store with a lot of high end but affordable options for your pets. Anything from gluten free, grain free, gluten and grain free, whole grain or raw you can be sure to find something. Cat or dog, food or accessories, holistic remedies, advice or just a nice chat you can find it here. Its a locally owned business full of people who genuinely care about animals. I highly recommend shopping here and supporting a locally owned small business.

I have been shopping there for MANY years and I will keep going back. They don't carry EVERY natural food out there but they can special order things and what they do carry is good food. I have always appreciated that they have high standards and as new companies emerge (or older ones change) they spend time investigating to make decisions about letting go and bringing new stuff in.
