Have taken our dog Lady there for boarding twice and will again for future trips. She's been well cared for while we were gone for a week both times. Staff is friendly and loving, you can tell they care. Boarding fees are reasonable as well.

I can't say enough good things about Nelly's! They truly care about our dogs and go the extra mile to be sure they're comfortable - whether that's during their grooming session or a few day boarding stay. I feel good dropping my dogs off here, I know they're meticulously cared for. Highly, highly recommend this wonderful business.

Our dog Honey Bear is a Chihuahua that hates people and will not trust anyone except her own pack, her family of humans. We worry about leaving her anywhere but this time we had no choice. She has a hard character as she will trust no one, but thankfully she was warm and safe and cared for for 5 days and 4 nights last Thanksgiving weekend.She was happy to see us and recovered quickly from her melancholy of missing us. We were thankful she was well cared for in spite of her being a little difficult with strangers as she always is.I've had other places turn us down because they couldn't handle her, but at Nelly's Ark they took good care of her and we are very thankful.

Nelly's has been an institution to the locals for pet grooming and boarding for many years. We have used the grooming facility for nail trims a couple times as our prior groomer retired. The price is a little more expensive than other groomers we have used, as we paid $12 cash per each dog. The location is off of a busy highway and right next to a home, so it can be Abita confusing if you are coming from the freeway. Thankfully, they have a couple spots you can pull in that lead to the grooming area. The waiting are is very small and not set up to wait inside for appointments so if you are early for an appointment, keep that in mind. The technician seemed qualified in not only our dogs breed but were educated in the type of nails our dogs have in order to make it as good of an experience for our dogs as possible. One thing of note, they do have office pets wandering around the office, so if you have an uneasy pet around other pets, you may want to go into the office without your pet first to notify the front staff. The front desk have always been courteous and quick to serve any customers that have come in while I was there.

Our family had a Great Wolf lodge trip planned. We decided to board our 20-month-old, intact male GSD. My wife searched kennels in the surrounding area. Nelly's Ark came up as the best. There is a reason. First off, the facility is clean. You can tell they take pride in its appearance. Second, the staff is top-notch. They were professional, friendly, and respectful. The extra special care they provided for my boy Dutch, was immensely appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone looking to board their pup. Thanks Nelly's. 10/10

Our dog is very sensitive to his personal space and can’t stay at other boarding services.We drove him down 1.5 hours from Seattle for 2 weeks and the staff took great care of him with zero issues- he came back a happy dog!It is well worth the drive and we are very grateful for how professional Nelly’s Ark is !

I left my dog here for boarding for a week while my family and I were on vacation. I was scared because it was the first time I left her like that. The people were very friendly and careing. When I picked her up she was happy and fine. She'll be going back again soon for just a day because I trust them with her and the rates are great.

Update- another excellent stay before 4th of July and they (our older dog and playful puppy) are there right now and were so excited to see the sweet employees working there. Very grateful to not have to worry while they are there.They were SO good to our dog during her long-term stay over Christmas break. Seriously, some of the best care. Will definitely use them again in the future

I have a fairly high anxiety 60 lb lab mix named Luna, she is very picky about people and very communicative about her opinions! She is always thrilled when I take her out of my van at Nelly’s Ark, she loves the employees so much! They are always so thrilled to see her too! I have boarded her with them for at least 10-15 visits in the last year, and I’m always thrilled with her care.

As a former employee I can tell you that firstly these people use way too much disinfectant; it's like they forget they’re dealing with dogs and not people with compromised immune systems. There will be a piece of paper on the wall saying that one of their tasks is to “walk the dogs” but in reality all they do is let the dog outside for a couple minutes to go to the bathroom, while they drench their kennel with disinfectant. If you're the owner of “Boo” you should stop bringing his dog bed, because apparently he doesn’t deserve the dog bed. If you're the owner of “Chase” just know that he isn’t allowed to have water because he goes “pee” in the kennel, which seems entirely contradictory to the fact that we were forced to clean the kennels anyways. The dog was so thirsty that when I accidentally sprayed him while cleaning the drain, he was licking the water on the floor. The way they operate things makes everything on a time crunch, so don’t expect the dogs to get the adequate measuring you requested for food, because we have to be faster than speedy Gonzales and sometimes the kennel attendant will just actively ignore the request because the dog is “too fat” which they have no right to do. You’re also supporting people that don’t pay their employees on time or at all.

Nellie's Ark has been in business, boarding and caring for dogs for at least 30 years I know of. And her passion has never left her. She, and ALL her staff are kind, attentive, and caring. They're the best! Their nail trims are good and very reasonable - and fast!

I could not say a bad thing about this place if I tried. The staff are friendly and helpful, they made accommodations for my dog who does not socialize well with other dogs, they kept me updated, and took great care of my little pug. If a 5 star review isnt enough to convince you to use there services, let me say that i drive 1.5 hours out of my way to bring him here because there is no where else i would let him stay. Thanks a ton!

Nelly's may be less expensive than other options but i chose them because they don't have a pay for play policy. They will actually just give your dog love without putting a clock on it. When i take my pup here i love that the staff immediately give him attention and affection. It shows me that they really like dogs and aren't just grinding out the clock. My dog is a bit needy amd neurotic without me so the fact that he eagerly leaves my side to head back with staff is reassuring that he enjoys it here.

I have had my dogs clipped and put up at Nellys countless times since 2002. I have never had a problem with them and they have always been very helpful. They take real good care of the kennel area keeping the pet pens clean and water for the pets always there. I would recommend them to any pet owner.

I really wanted to take my dog for grooming at Nelly's Ark, but even though it shows they are open, everytime I call, no one answered. I left a message, no call back. I have called four times and nothing. I'm really disappointed because I had heard such good things.

This was the second time I've taken my dog to Nelly's and the love and care that she received while she was there is something I haven't found anywhere else I've taken her. Whenever I have to go out of town I feel really great knowing she's going to be taken care of as well as she is at Nelly's.

WET AND SHIVERING @ 29F outside when I arrived to pick up at 8am. Read all if you have concern about the care of your animals! I pulled in to Nellys to pick up my 2 Shih Tzu dogs which had been boarded for 6 days while on vacation. Only to find them outside shaking wet and cold as it was below freezing out and they were not given their coats like I left instructions to do when taking outside if cold or raining out. The girl whom was at counter when I dropped them off wrote down care instructions on a 3x5 index card for the care takers only for them to obviously not read or not care enough to follow instructions. I even came in and toured the place with the owner Nelly the day before I dropped to express how important my dogs are as was given the warm and fuzzy spiel just to find out that there isn’t a care for the animals it’s a business out for the dime as you will know by the following explanation. when I entered the building and told them I was there to pick up my dogs they went and got care giver and I asked why they were outside without coats and she said she didn’t know they had them. To which I replied they are hanging on the door to the kennel they were in! she said she didn’t know they were to have them. my reply was I guess they were there for decoration why else would you leave coats x2 made for a dog hanging on the door kennel. Then I asked if she read the 3x5 card that had the instruction and she stated she didn’t get it given to her. So I asked if she didn’t read it or what was point in giving the instructions just to be ignored to which I got the same reply of not getting the card and I asked if she looked for it and got no response. But as far as money and the credit card machine she was able to give detailed instructions on what buttons to push and how to leave a tip if we wanted and all in detail from memory. Maybe if you spent as much time and energy in learning the care instructions as the credit card machine you may actually receive a tip. As well as if I want to leave my animals in a cage outside in the cold without care just to use bathroom I could of saved the 230 bucks and done so on my own land. Maybe it’s the manner things go when Nelly isn’t around or maybe it’s the optempo their business runs by the way managed but I would not ever leave my animals here based off the lack of care they received. Also I asked and paid for a sanity trim while there only to pick up my older one when we got home and had dried feces stuck to rear so great job.

Rachel at Nelly's Ark is such a godsend to us and our furhumans! We have had a couple bad, one REALLY bad, boarding experiences with our babies and were totally afraid to leave them with anyone ever again!! But when making plans for a 2 week out of state vacation we couldn't take them! The search was on! I used to take my beloved little Cocker Spaniel, Buffey, to Nelly many years ago to clip and so we decided to make a visit there! We were greeted by Rachel who is one amazingly positive and loving lady! She promised to take complete and total care of our 2 English Bulldogs while we were gone for that 2 week period and wow she didn't disappoint! The LOVE her! They were bathed, nails clipped and ready to be picked up when we stopped by! We can't say thank you enough to Nelly and her amazing Rachel for the love and care they gave out babies in our absence! So glad we picked them! Now they'll go nowhere else but Nelly's Ark to be cared for and loved by Rachel! Nelly hang on to Rachel! She's amazing, we love her, our furhumans love her and that is VERY hard to find! Thank you so much!!!
