I switched pharmacies from Dons in Port Townsend, after 25 years to Safeway. Having experienced getting my Rxs at Safeway for several months now, I’m going to switch-again. Every time I pick up my Clonzapam Rx, I’m treated like a criminal. Plus, one of the male pharmacists, is very creepy and arrogant. He shouldn’t even be working there! So once again, I’m taking my business elsewhere. That pharmacy is a joke.

They shuttered up for lunch. There was nothing online about that, and no signage indicated that was the case. So I assumed they had randomly closed just before 1 p.m. I had talked to someone 30 minutes prior and mentioned I'd be back. I guess it slipped their mind? Please work on basic communication skills. I had other issues, such as the long lines, but it looks like other folks have covered that.

We started our 1st day of vacation needing a key diabetic supply for my partner. Without going into all of the detail, it had been a rough start. Not only did the pharmacy tech and pharmacist help right away, they were so kind and friendly that I almost cried.

Definitely the lines are too long and sometimes I think they're understaffed. I still have had mostly good experiences. I value the 24 hour automated prescription refill call in. Most pharmacies have that nowadays but they're also very close to where I live. I definitely think they could improve but I also think some of the reviews make it seem worse than it is.

ZERO, YOU SCORE A ZERO4 phone calls and 2 transfers from Walgreens in Sequim, I still don't have my medications. Maybe it will be in " the next load" ?????Months later, 2 phone calls 1 reminder to actually ORDER the medications still I wait. What the ??????? How many of the staff would like to wait for necessary medications?

I stood in line to check if my meds were ready. They weren't yet, which was fine, just trying to plan my day. When I asked about how long it would be I got a snotty "well, it depends on how many times the pharmacist gets interrupted."1. The pharmacist gets interrupted. It is part of her job to answer questions about meds. It's not something to get irritated about.2. Don't take your irritation out on a customer.3. If you hate your job so much you can't be pleasant to others then you need to change your life.I will patiently wait for my meds, just need an estimate so I can plan accordingly.Next time I will consider a different pharmacy. I loved the Safeway Pharmacy in my last town. So sad that the standard of service isn't met at every location.

There needs to be some better organization here. I called just yesterday to make sure my prescription was ready, because I know how long it can take to wait. The prescription was ready, so i came in today. I waited in line for 20 minutes! And when i get to the counter i am told the prescription is not ready and i have to wait again for about 20 minutes. If I was not moving Port Townsend, at this point I would definitely switch pharmacy's. Why is there no functioning pharmacy in this town?

There were signs of hope a year or two ago, but they've regressed again to lines past the dairy case. Once again stacks of "not quite done" prescriptions behind the counter. Total disorganization.Today was Sunday and Christmas Eve. The signs say they open at ten on Sundays, but they didn't open until Eleven. There was a sign to that effect on the front door, but none at the pharmacy. Cutting hours for a holiday is understandable. Not putting up a dang sign is inexcusable. The sole clerk was grumbling about the line before he even opened. About 20 people.

Got a new manager 6 months ago and the service and staff has really improved since then! There are still long lines, but they have also moved quickly under the new management and everyone is super nice! Mary the Manager spoke to me and personally recommended a probiotic that pairs with the antibiotic I was taking. Much Improved!

I decided to change pharmacies after having less than acceptable experiences at Safeway. Lost prescriptions. Receiving a call that my prescription was ready, but when I went to pick it up, it was not ready (dropped it three days prior). Could not find a safety lid and, at one point, three employees searched drawers while a mile long line waited behind me.There are some good employees there, but their system seems flawed. Waiting for the line to be wrapped around a corner before you add front line help isn't good for the customers. I see many seniors standing for too long... and only one recently placed chair for waiting.

Worst service ever.. yes it will be 40 min.. 50 min later.. sorry she was doing something else wait another 15 or more minutes. There is no seating, no empathy and no concern. Pharmacy is in the back of the store, hard to find. Standing in the line of shame.. go anywhere else

Working in the healthcare field, I have to call pharmacies to get my patients prescriptions. This is hands down, the worst pharmacy I have to call. They put you on hold for 10+ minutes. Its obvious that this staff is overworked/under-staffed. If you are wondering what pharmacy to go to, please consider other places. There are very many magnificent pharmacies in PT. (Dons, Jeff. Family, even QFC). Please save US time and hassle and chose another pharmacy. OR if you are a pharmacist looking for a job, please work here, its apparent they need help.

I couldn't understand why this pharmacy would have such poor reviews, now I totally understand. Use Don's if possible. I travel with my husband for a few months at a time and I usually like Safeway pharmacies but in this case I understand what all the complaints are about. Sad that they are the bad link in the Safeway Pharmacy chain (and I've been to them all over the country).

Pharmacist can't bother to show up on time. When you have an appointment they don't bother to alert you that the pharmacist is taking their sweet time getting to work.

I have lived in Port Townsend for 24 years. While the staff are friendly enough, the service is AWFUL. Every time I have been sick, it takes a MINIMUM of 6 hours to get my px filled. I do not have a car, so rely on buses to get to store and home. Once, I had walking pneumonia, and had bused it to the hospital, then Safeway. I had a temp, was weak, etc. But I knew I needed my meds, ASAP. They kept telling me they were going to fill the px shortly; it wound up being 6 hours I had to wait. Then, they told me that the px was never even called in by dr., and that I'd have to come back another day. After telling them of my (pathetic) situation, one of the pharmacists was incredibly sweet, and offered to drive me home, as I'd missed my last bus. Since then, any and all prescriptions have taken about 6 hours to fill. I do not know why; supply and demand? My goodness! If they are this busy, perhaps they need to reestablish the number they need for a fully functioning staff! It is beyond frustrating!!

Unfortunately as of this exact date that I write this comment Safeway pharmacy in Port Townsend is in trouble again and has been for several weeks. I'm afraid I have to totally agree with everything I've read among all the other comments that seem to repeat the same problems over and over again (over years) about this particular pharmacy. I have lived in Port Townsend for nearly 7 years there are several people behind that counter in that pharmacy that I've known all that time and they are WONDERFUL GOOD HARD-WORKING PEOPLE, but they are consistently understaffed and they're just not getting what they need from their corporation. Thus I give the personnel four and a half stars.but when it comes to SAFEWAY CORPORATION YOU GET 5 NEGATIVE STARS IF THERE WAS SUCH A THING: YOU ARE INCOMPETENT IN PROVIDING DECENT OVERSIGHT OF THESE POOR PEOPLE TRYING TO OPERATE THIS PHARMACY... KNOCKING OFF THE HEAD OF THE MANAGER IS NOT AN ANSWER LIKE YOU DID 2 YEARS AGO... LOOK WHAT'S HAPPENED. I THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU GUYS AT SAFEWAY INCORPORATED START LOOKING CLOSER AT WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

If my insurance hadn’t changed, I would never go there. There’s always a line, always a wait. Over a 1-month period I needed 3 diff scripts and they had to re-enter, at least, a portion of my information asking “have you been here before?” each time because they couldn’t find me in the system. The people really are nice enough but the process is very slow due to inefficiency and (probably) system errors. Save yourself from this & go to Dons instead.

I’m unfortunately can’t remember the pharmacists name. But when my son’s medicine got mixed up and they didn’t have it in stock, he kindly called around and found pharmacies that could fulfill it. I so appreciate he’s help and good work. Thanks!

Disappointed with every visit. Not just slow, no follow thru, meds never filled on time, new manager- pharmacy service , some staff, staffing still substandard and not accountable for all the problems. If there was another honest pharmacy in town, I would go there--- but there isn't. A hassle every time.

An absolutely terrible pharmacy. They take forever to refill prescriptions, they frequently provide incorrect information, I go to Jefferson Family Pharmacy, the only reason I went here today was because I got a new prescription that was accidentally sent here. Spent one morning trying to get a prescription and I remember why I switched, and will never go here, even if it’s accidentally sent here.

This is one of two pharmacies in port Townsend. There are 4 kiosks and only one of them is ever used. Expect to wait for up to 1/2 hour while the pick up window assists confused boomers

If I could rate lower than one star I would. Don’t even attempt this pharmacy. Very bad service. Have had several scripts here and always had to wait for them even days after the script was brought in.

I can offer one star because the staff are friendly. That’s it. But the lines... the lines... so frustrating! Safeway!!! Hire more staff already!
