We love it here! Laid back friendly environment where your kids can play in lake. Store and cafe are super convenient, and the food is great. We have stayed in our camper as well as rented a cabin with a large group of people, both were awesome. The new owners take pride in getting to know guests and improving the property. And July 4th was freaking amazing!!!!

No control over who comes and goes, parking is an absolute nightmare. More a party place for the new owners and their friends. More dogs off leash than on leash and no control of that. Owners are more concerned about letting their teenage children host an underage drinking party that goes until all hours of the night. Garbage overflowing at every dumpster. Pretty sure that no one really pays and comes and uses the beach and facilities as they please and no one monitors who’s coming and going. The new owners have no clue how to run a business, their only concern is using the resort as their personal party place.

If I could give a zero I would. I booked a rv spot online for a week in June of 2022. I even called and got a confirmation email sent to me. Our family has vacationed there for the last four years. Well the resort sold. The new owners let me know my reservation had to be cancelled due to over booking. I was very understanding, it was not their fault the previous owners over booked. I was told I would be refunded for what I had paid for the reservation by the owner in person, emails and phone conversations. It is now December 2022 and I still have not gotten a refund. They will not answer or return my calls and emails. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I will now have to take legal action if I ever want to see my money again.

We couldn't be happier with what the new owners have done with Shore Acres. Such a fun, happy, family atmosphere in a gorgeous setting at Loon Lake. Are you expecting a 4 star beach spa resort? You'll probably be disappointed. This is a good, old fashioned lake resort that's been seriously spruced up and remodeled over the past year. The cabins are nicely remodeled and clean and the people are friendly. Super happy here!

Beautiful Sandy Beach and the owner was so nice! We just came for a day visit and loved fishing off the dock and swimming in the beach area, next time we want to rent a boat! Lots of care taken to make this resort family friendly from ice cream in the store to a swing set play area and picnic tables and outdoor blocks. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and it was pretty quiet even though there were several families (we went mid week in June) we'll be back for sure!

Shore acres is my get away! I love it here so much! I have stayed in just about every cabin over the years and each one is is just a bit different so you get to have a new scenery each say! This last time I stayed in cabin seven and it was so cozy and cute! I love the rustic/chic vibe it offers! All the cabins are full of all the dishes you could need, cozy bedding and much more! The beach it full of soft sand and the water is almost always warm! They keep a good stock of beach toys and life jackets in case you forget your own! They updated the dog side of the beach and added out side music and more seating it’s such a good vibe. Any time we have had any issue the owners Katy and Jim have always been quick to help any way they can! Shore acres will continue to be my fav little vacation spot ❤️

This was our family go to vacation for 23 years. Our adult children loved joining us. We brought our RV for 2 to 3 weeks every year. Through 4 different owners the resort remained family friendly and and fun. We made lifetime friends and always looked forward to coming for annual catch up visits. Then the new owners arrived. Year one was ok. Weird as they let there 1 year old run around in diapers or nothing, expecting guests to watch and enforcing leash rules while their dog ran free. But no big deal. But in the next 2 years, our reservations made 1 year in advance we’re changed. Minor date changes and site changes. They advertise as smoke free. Nope. Husband and wife team. Husband a bully and wife a screaming nasty person. Not exactly the god fearing people they claim to be.Our last change was a move to beside the shower/toilets which were the only sites available to non seasonal. When we asked for a refund, we were denied. The new owners are not trustworthy. Be very wary before you give them any money!

The rooms we got were surface clean, mostly. Actual craftsmanship of railing on the rental house is a drunken persons death sentence. Overall it is a fun place, no tent camping. That is the worst, overall good time for camping, they do have free public heated showers.Inflation is hitting hard here, 1 can of Arizona tea is 2.50 and its smaller than normal.

A group of us booked a stay last September for this upcoming summer. It was for our wedding renewal so we had a big group and all wanted to stay together. We talked to the lady and got it booked. When I received my confirmation email it was missing an RV spot we needed so I sent an email back asking about it. I wanted to make sure we had all the spots we needed. I never received a response. It’s now 7 months later and after many attempts to reach out the owner still would not confirm we had all the spots we needed. I was done trying so we all asked to cancel our reservations and get out deposit refunded back. The owner is now ignoring all of us and has not issued any of us a refund. Scammed

I love love love Shore Acres. Jim and Katy are an amazing community asset and have done so much to rejuvenate the resort and support local artisans and makers in their store. Local brews and wines available in the store and a wonderful café, too. Well worth the family pass/daily use fees! We are also partial to cabin 2, as it was the first one our family stayed in. Be sure to ask about their vendor events, too! So much fun for all 👍❤️😊

Shore acres resort was absolutely wonderful. There's tons of good fishing in the lake. It's nestled right up against the lake and it has a very cozy feel. The owners are very friendly and introduced themselves to me shortly after parking my truck. I'm definitely going back for a 3 night stay for memorial day

We just got back from staying 5 nights at Shore Acres Resort and I can't say enough good things about it. The couple that runs it, Denise and Gary, are more than accommodating - they helped with whatever we needed and wore big smiles the entire time. SUPER FRIENDLY. Our kids took occasional breaks at the beach just long enough to go buy candy at the cute little store, where the friendly (and very patient - imagine little kids agonizing over how to spend their $1 when there are 5 cent+ options -- it takes a while!) staff helped them.We stayed in one of the beach front apartments which allowed us to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves from the lake. Our apartment was very clean and had all the appliances etc we needed. I've read some reviews complaining about the cabins/apartments, but come on people - you can't expect 5 star new when you are paying these great low rates! For those who don't mind older (but clean and BEACH FRONT) digs, this place is amazing. Definitely going back next year!

I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the lake was absolutely beautiful, stunning, the grounds were very well kept up. And most importantly the owners (Jim& Katy), we're just amazingly beautiful, good hearted people who took pride in the resort & treated u like family. They we're so happy, friendly, went the extra mile . Just so wonderful

I'm a small business owner in Deer Park and have been hearing great things all throughout the community about this place since I opened my doors two years ago. Boy did they exceed my expectations when my family and I took our RV there this past weekend!Katy and Jim were amazing hosts. They made us feel like family and welcomed to their little family owned "empire"! There was so much to do with the amazing sandy beach, fishing, full hook ups, playground, fully stocked store with some locally owned products, and some of the best bacon and garlic french fries that were freshly made in their restaurant. The best part was the awesome mascot "Bern-Dog" that quickly became our new friend! If you're looking for a great place to RV, rent a cabin, or just take a day trip to a sandy beach; Shore Acres is the place to go!Thanks for everything Katy, Jim, Bernie, and all the amazing staff! The Costello family will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing. I stayed in cabin 2 and it was equally beautiful and clean. The beach was great, and they have a boat launch too. There's a playground for the kids, fire pits, and the Cafe has a delicous steak sandwich.

A friend of mine in Deer Park suggested I stay here, he has never been here but he knew i was looking for a place to stay while I visited. When I arrived I went to check in which is down by the dock and no one was there, I had to ask someone where I was suppose to check in, he was nice and knocked on the owners door. Apparently she sent me a text. I stayed in cabin 7, I was suppose to stay in cabin 3 but it was being renovated this cabin was larger. There was a kitchen and small dining area and a futon to sit on or sleep on I suppose, a separate bedroom and a 3/4 bath also a back door that goes out on the deck. The cabins from the outside could use some help they are rustic. I had reserved the cabin for two days but only stayed for one mainly because there is no heat in the bedroom and I was there on April 20, 2021 and it was cold that night and I had to layer my clothes and use another blanket just to stay warm. I did turn on the fireplace in hopes to warm it up. The mattress was squishy on both beds lol So if you like really soft bed you will be fine :) The owner is really nice and she only charged me for one night. I was a bit hesitant on leaving this review. I would probably stay here again but only during the summer where its warmer :) Also I see a review stating the café was open, It was not open when i was there as a matter of fact it usually doesn't open until mid May.

So disappointed, should have seen what was coming last summer I called to try to get a cabin was told by the owner they were booked but she’d place me on the call list, the day before our weekend to Loon Lake I seen she’d posts 4 cabins available, I called right away and they had just been booked. I asked what about the call list she said “Oh I didn’t think about it”. So fast forward to now, we have a group that’s attending a wedding in Loon Lake this summer, my niece has had a few questions about the stay and getting pictures, also having the rvs in the group close to those that rented cabins. Both of us have tried numerous times to contact the owner. She never responds, then we find out several in the group had their deposits withdrawn but no confirmation sent to them. When my niece finally did talk to the owner she said the RV spots aren’t guaranteed as to which spot you get, so part of the group could be way away from the others. So we decided to cancel and go to another place where we can be all together. Over 3 weeks the owner hasn’t responded to emails and no refunds have been given! This is unacceptable.

Katy and Jim Byrnes are wonderful hosts who go the distance in making sure their guests are happy and comfortable. My husband and I needed a place to camp (we have a travel trailer) while setting up basic infrastructure on our nearby property. Despite having to reschedule dates several times, Katy was patient, understanding, and able to accommodate us. We stayed for two weeks, from the end of April to mid-May, 2020. The campground was quiet and peaceful. It is situated right on the lakeshore, a two-minute walk to the dock where we sat on the bench and took in the lovely scenery. There are restrooms, each with one shower, but they were under repair during our stay. The virus has prevented Katy & Jim from opening the cafe, but they are working hard to get it up and running. The cabins have awesome views of the lake; we didn't stay in one but I'm sure they're cozy and modern. You will enjoy your stay here, especially if you have kids. There is a playground and a boat launch. You can fish off the dock. Give this place a try!

I do not understand why this place is highly rated. The furniture is old and mismatched and there are no doors on the 2 bedrooms. The bathroom has no sink or mirror, just a toilet and tiny shower with old, gross fixtures. The beach area is very small and far too crowded. It is dog friendly but the beach area is not except for 1 tiny corner which was often in use by others. Our cabin was on the beach which sounds like it would be nice but it actually means you have no privacy. Your windows have to be open because there is no AC, only fans, and people are close to your windows because there is a little shade next to the building. There is a photo in another person's review of a little wood cabin with a green roof, I saw those at Deer Lake but not here where all of the cabins are gray. Last, we are in the middle of a pandemic but you wouldn't know it here. Limited social fistancing on the beach, no mask use by the staff at check-in or in the general store and the rooms are not being cleaned adequately between guests. I lysol wiped everything when we got there and the one I used on the light switches by the door ended up very dirty. They are not cleaning high touch areas well. Place is not worth the price.

The new owners have done so much to improve the overall experience at Shore Acres Resort. I only come by via boat for the events and the food as I also live on the same lake but there is always a good cause being promoted with live music, local crafts and art, etc. It's a fun destination on the lake and free parking for boat guests who want to visit and join the activity.

Customer service has declined steadily with each stay. Cabin was dusty, crumbs on the floor, counter and around the microwave. While sweeping the floor the first evening of our stay (because the floor was dirty) i found a dirty coiled sock just under the bed. (Not one of ours and was visible from across the room) They also moved ur boat slip to "repair it" while we were out on the lake without notice. When we returned we had no slip and no choice but to park our boat in the courtesy spot that has huge eye bolts, we were concerned about damaging our boat from wakes throwing it about. In addition we chose the cabin we stayed in because it has a portable fire pit which on the 2nd night it disappeared and was found a few cabins down because the owner granted permission for another guest to use it without any notice to us. It's almost comical, even after all of this I was still not upset or even willing to complain at check out. Because they're always saying they're just a family trying to survive. I GET IT! I told her I had my dog for part of my stay so she could charge me appropriately, she declined to charge me. I recvd my invoice this morning by email. I saw a $25 cleaning fee. I sent a message to Sar regarding the the dirty sock.Told her I don't mind paying the fee since she didn't charge me for my dog but she should know her housekeeper missed some pretty obvious things maybe needs to be coached. The message I recvd back was this...We charge a $25 cleaning fee, for every stay.We did that, rather than raise rates. Sometimes small things get missed. I will pass this on to my housekeeping manager. I also didn't charge you for your dog being here for part of your stay.We had to overlook some disappointing things in order to relax during our stay. It's unfortunate that the owner felt my concerns were not valid. That I should have overlooked it all because she didn't charge me for my dog? 🤷‍♀️ Will not be back!!

It's a nice little resort, there's a little restaurant/bar and general store. Nice beach area and they have chairs and umbrellas you can use! Day rate wasn't too bad, $7 per adult and $3 a child. I did have to pay for my 1yr old grandbaby tho, that seemed odd. It would be nice if children at least 2 and under were free.

I think if you were going for day use or RV rental, the lake is nice. However, we rented the vintage cabin and it was very expensive for what we got. Blankets and no bedspreads, no sink in bathroom (kitchen shallow sink only), no coffee provided, tiny shower, and very old and not kept up well. Even had a sign asking you to clean your own bathroom and floors. When you are charging $150.00 per night, I would think there would be more to offer. I would expect the price to be way less than it was for what there was to their "vintage cabin". We were in town for a memorial service and needed a place to stay, so we didn't get to enjoy the lake.

Terrible disappointment . I had reservations for 12 days and there was one issue after the other. The worst part was the way I was treated when trying to get things resolved. I lived with broken furniture, a broken toilet, no curtains on the windows, screen doors that initially had no screens and after screens were installed, the screen doors wouldn’t close. There were also safety issues and not nearly enough parking. Also, a total disregard for COVID regulations. Staff didn’t wear masks while serving food or waiting on guests. No social distancing. I would never recommend this place.

Great family vacation place. The food and service at the Laughing Loon are as good as any 4 to 5 star restaurant you'll ever get without the stuffiness. Kim the operator of the resort and all of the employees are great. Look'n forward to see'n them all this summer. We are locals and love to go there. You can boat in too.

Wonderful place to stay and/or play. Staff is wonderful and family oriented. Cafe is great. Prices good. Affordable boat and kayak rentals. Cabins being updated as fast as they can. Water is clean. This is a wonderful place to visit!
