This pharmacy has been the most attentive and involved pharmacy I've encountered in Gig Harbor. The staff stays on top of changes and actually communicates with you. Dallas is a class act. So professional and pleasant.I dont dread picking up my prescriptions like I have at Gig Harbor pharmacy retailers. Thank you to everyone working hard at Gig Harbor Rite Aid!

Anyone using the Cash App's Cash Debit Card..... This is one of the many places you can load "paper money" via the apps bar code the cashier scans before the transaction is even completed you will be getting a verification text that the cash has been added. Quick, easy, and friendly employees that always make anything these days easier to do. It's not pulling up to a creepy ATM with your head on a swivel day and or night time so I'll take it.

I have used rite aid as my pharmacy for 25 years. I have had so many pleasant experiences here. There was a pharmacist named Debbie who actually met me at the Fox island bridge to bring me a medication for a very painful uti because they were closing before I could get there. There is also the kindest male pharmacist there who is always kind and helpful. Possibly Leslie as I read another review that sounded like him.However the young woman Jasmine maybe at the cash register is always rude. I think she is afraid her face might break if she smiles.And a woman pharmacist with dark hair who has that same demeanor. I scheduled a vaccination online and they said they didn’t have me on the books so couldn’t serve me. No matter that on the website it said walk ins could get them. I happened to have my phone and showed her the text I had gotten from rite aid reminding me of the time. So she begrudgingly let me get the flu and RSV shots. You didn’t have the new covid one yet but got it in the next week. So I again scheduled on the web, and came in for that shot. I have cancer and am immunocompromised so of course I was relieved to get it. However when I came in just the next week after the earlier fiasco she again said they didn’t have me on the schedule. Sadly I had forgotten my phone so couldn’t show her that I again had a reminder text. She was going to make me go home and get my phone to show her until I reminded her we had gone through this the week before. I said surely I am not the only one this is happening to snd she said something about the web sign up Again no apology just rudeness. I do want to say that the African American (or black if she prefers) woman who gave me the vaccine was extremely nice. I think she was feeling badly for me.So a couple weeks ago my primary care physician and I wrote up a pain plan with hydromorphone being prescribed after trying many other possibilities. She gave me a very small amount to try and then when it was successful called in a larger amount Thursday. I went in to get it and Jasmine came back and said they didn’t have 60 pills and would need to order it so I needed to come back on Monday. I asked if I could have what they had and pick the rest up on Monday. She said if I took what they had they couldn’t give me the rest when it came in. Must be a newer rule because your pharmacy is often out of different meds and they have crossed out the 60 and put 10 for instance with the understanding that I could pick up the rest when it came in. Maybe it’s changed and I understand that. But the whole time it was like I was a great burden on them.So come today when the meds were to come in. I waited to call until later in the morning around noon to make sure it was delivered before I came to get it. After she checked she said it was there so I said I’d come about 12:45 as I had a dr appt in Tacoma. She said it wouldn’t be ready by then because they would soon be blocked out for lunch. Again I felt like I was a pain for her. I’ve seen elderly people be treated the same way there. I guess since I’m 72 I would fall in that category.So after my dr appt in Tacoma and in much pain by then I went in to pick it up. And after she handed it to me I said to her that I have been getting prescriptions from them for 25 years but that I’m the last year I absolutely dread coming there. I pointed to the male pharmacist and said he is very kind but you and a couple others are not. That I had already contacted my primary care person and was switching to Olympic Pharmacy. (Which by the way I’ve gone to already a couple times when you had been out of prescriptions.In closing I want to say I taught at Artondale for several years and could possibly have had some of your kids as students. They are also often vulnerable people and I have tried my best to be kind and supportive.Very sick people and people who are dying have difficulty as it is getting there to pick up their meds. They shouldn’t also have to feel they are a burden along with the burden they already carry. I am sending this to corporate also.

My night began at the pharmacy, greeted at the window by a most uplifting spirit. Please forgive me for I forgot this young man’s name? That said, I enjoyed the conversation we had, along with the pharmacist she prepared my meds. In short time, I was given consult on med prescribed, payment processed, med in a bag, thanking me and wishing me a good night. A WONDERFUL ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience. Loss of one star because after processing payment cashier did not offer me a bag. Granted, they were travel size items? Still, I’ve never experienced that at any time I pass through this store. And if this be a new company policy I don’t know of? Then, i will grant grace. And will return to apologize.

On 10/10/23 my husband had major surgery. His prescription was sent electronically to this GigHarbor Riteaid. It was pain meds. I called at 4 pm to see how long it would be for pick up. I talked to a woman to see when I could pick up. She said she didn’t know and they closed at 8 pm and she didn’t know if it would be filled or not. She was very rude!! I called back at 645 pm to get an update and was put on hold for 28 MINUTES!! I hung up and called again 3rd time and asked about my prescription. Emma (very nice) took my call and told me if we could wait 30 minutes it would be ready before they closed!! I work retail and understand customers get upset about prescriptions not being filled in a timely manner now I truly understand why customers get upset. Every time I go to this GigHarbor Riteaid they are rude and tell you to come back later!! Had I known I would have to wait so long I would’ve had my rx transferred to Walgreens or Bartells!!

Great Store! I love coming here because they make me feel so welcomed. Being a minority in a mostly white community, I feel like I'm like accepted like everyone else. The staff is very friendly here and most of the customers seem like decent people. This is by far my favorite "drug store," in the area. And, I've been to pretty much all of them here. (Don't really care for the Walgreen's up by Costco).Also, I'm not sure why R.R. feels the ways he does. But, as he mentions, (maybe it's just me), I think he is correct. I noticed one of his other reviews and he seems to be needing attention. You won't get any respect that way.

Night manager is openly bigoted and hostile. Put the sicko back in the unemployment line where she belongs! Edit: it seems I'm not the only one having problems with this location. If you have any visible minority, or frequently discriminated against traits (Like you know, an obvious medical problem that doesn't come with a large medical device.) strongly consider taking your business elsewhere for your own safety. If you absolutely must come here avoid interacting with staff before checkout, know where things are ahead of time, and try to shop during the day.

Incompetent to order a simple glucose monitor that I was told they usually have in stock. I called 3 times and was told should have been here by now. Dr. Prescribed on May 20. Robo called on June 30 to say it had arrived.

The pharmacy staff is very professional and courteous. Rarely have I had a more positive experience in a pharmacy during Covid 19. The staff needs to be commended for their attitude in this difficult times.

Hi. It has not been perfect here, but they have answered all of my questions, provided me with quality customer service, assisted me with decisions. The pharmacists have a lot of knowledge, but not a lot of time to meet with you because they are given so much to do in a day. They are always courteous and take care of the primary concerns. They have some really good quality people working at this pharmacy. I have no true complaints about this pharmacy. They have been good to me.

They never have enough people working here. The people who do work here are good people but they are under a lot of pressure. I’m standing here at 5 pm on a Tuesday and there’s one guy handling a long line and a pharmacist who isn’t talking to customers. I’m supposed to get my shot at 5 but I’m thinking it’ll be long after that bc it’s 5:10 now and I haven’t been able to speak anyone yet.

This pharmacy closed 3 hours early with a handwritten sign in the back of their store. My physician sent a prescription over electronically because their business hours are listed as 9pm. They still filled the prescription even though they closed early. My prescription was being held by this Rite Aid as hostage so another pharmacy that was open could not fill it. Even another pharmacy couldn’t call and get a response. This is the 2nd strike against this pharmacy.

had a 9am appointment for vaccine (made online) only to discover the pharmacy had changed its hours to 10am opening. No attempt was made to contact me to let me know of the change. Front cashier laughed when asked what I was supposed to do; manager said she'd told 'them' for the past 5 weeks that the online times were incorrect. Wasted 2 hours of my time and now must wait at least another 2 weeks to get a new appointment elsewhere. I will not be using Rite Aid pharmacies in the future.

There seemed to be only a pharmacist and the single clerk, I did not see any other employees in the store. One woman at front of check out line was very rude to checkout lady, was loudly talking on her phone the whole time. Checkout lady was very polite and helpful to everyone else in line.

Really awkward, we were trying to shop quick and security was following us? Like peeping around corners really obviously. Then they overheaded "security sweep for the sales floor"... And we were like the only ones in there? I asked if they had bang energy drinks and the lady (who was watching us) said she's never heard of them and asked if I was shopping for myself..?? Who's never heard of bang energy drinks and works at a retail store? When I got to the checkstand she went outside and was against the building across from our car, smoking a cigarette or vape or whatever and watched us get in our car. She went inside when we left. We laughed about it but the whole thing was just uncomfortable.

This used to be a pretty decent pharmacy, but the last few times we've been there we've found the assistants and the pharmacists rude and disinterested. The final straw was that they lost my prescription after it was dropped off to be filled. There was no apology, just more rudeness. We're taking our medical needs elsewhere and suggest others do as well. When you're already not feeling well, you don't need incompetence and attitude.

My husband and I have been using Rite Aid for the 4 years that we have lived in Gig Harbor. We are in the store for the pharmacy as well as many other of our daily and weekly needs.Between my husband and myself we have several prescriptions each month we are required to get.I had called in 4 scripts that were the same ones I have been taking for 4 years. I went in the day after they were supposed to be ready and they were NOT ready. They told me they could have all of them ready in 30 minutes except one and it would have to be approve by the insurance company . I never heard anything else from this medication until I was called and told they had held the medication for me as long as they could and they would have to put it back if I couldn't come and get it that day. Well, I could not go that day. So I did as they told me to do and called it in again. When I went to pick it up, it was not ready. I finished my shopping in the store went back and it still was not ready.Now, I could understand if there were a lot of people in the store, but there were no customers. They had orders I am sure, but I was a customer standing right there.It has been 4 hours since I left the store and I have not been called to say the script is ready.TOO MANY TIMES WE GO IN AND OUR MEDICINE IS NOT READY!!!!!!!! These are not new scripts!These have not just been called in!!!!!!Then the pharmacist and/or technition is rude. They leave it all up to the cashier to deal with when it is clearly their fault.RITE AID NEEDS TO GET A HANDLE!!!! Too many other choices!!!!!GETTING TIRED OF BEING TREATED BADLY AND HAVING TO MAKE TOO MANY TRIPS TO RITE AID!!!!

The staff here has always been rude and slow. The past 3 times I have gone ther the cashiers have blatantly informed me until they finish what ever they are doing. Usually it’s “Hey I’ll be right with you” nope not here they will look at you and take their sweet time getting to you without even acknowledging you exists. So bad. I don’t even know how they are still operational to be honest there are far better choices.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. Rite Aid is overpriced and their selection of products is spotty. 2 out of 3 trips to the pharmacy results in them messing up my insurance. They are always late to fill prescriptions and they frequently "forget" to place them on order. Don't shop here if you have a choice.

The last four visits to the pharmacy have been very frustrating. Each time we have called to check if it was ready and were told that it is done. When we get there the prescriptions hadn’t even been started and we had to wait 45 minutes to an hour. It is really hard to do this especially with kids.I don’t like to usually complain, but this is getting a little out of hand

I’ve shopped Rite Aid for years as it progressed through many buy outs and name changes. It’s kind of painful to walk in the store these days and it looks like it’s closing next week. I know there have been shortages on some items at most stores but none look like this. It’s very sad.

Haggen transferred my prescriptions here when it closed. Of the 4 times I've been here, my prescription has never been ready on time. I request refills more than 24 hours in advance but they still can't fill them on time. Twice they messed up refills, saying my doctor denied the refill when she had already authorized it. Staff never even apologize for their mistakes. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Not going to lie every-time i come here, i always get weird looks (not due to my appearance i wear polos and slacks almost everyday lol) and to be honest Gig Harbors a pretty friendly place for minorities but this is probably the first time where whenever i go here both the customers & the staff are always giving me this "you dont belong here look" i dont know if its just me but as any review this is just my opinion. I do go here for one service that i cant seem to find anywhere else so ill update this if anything changes.

The pharmacy at Rite Aid lacks customer service.there is a heavy set lady with brown hair and glasses, she always wears a long sleeve blue shirt. She treats me like crap every time I go in there. I was standing in line and I was the next one to get helped, when it was my turn i sat my basket on the counter and waited for her to help me. Instead of her hwlping me, she made a phone call to what it soumded like her kid because she was asking how their day was at school. I still am standing there waiting to be helped. When the lady cimes back from making a call she told the guy that works there that shes going on break. I stood there for over 10 minutws and no one helped me. Today I drop off my scripts and it was the same lady. I was next in line and she helped a customer that wasnt even in line, she cut me off to talk to the other lady. It was unbelievable. I was completely blown away how I get treated by this lady. Finally she looked at me and didnt even want to help me, she had another lady that wrks there help me. I leave and come back to pick up my scripts and its the same lady that checks me out. She was told that she has a phone call, she stops helpig me and runs to the phone. Some guy I have never seen before had to ginish my transaction. I am switching pharmacies. I have had it with rite aid.

Carol in the pharmacy is personable, professional and friendly. She remembers me, and actually helped me emotionally ( with a hug) during a very tragic stage 4 Cancer diagnosis of a loved one. ❤️

I have gone here for years and I keep going back so that says something. I find the employees very friendly throughout the yearsI have shopped there. They have good deals on a lot of things.
