I just got two wonderful kittens, Luffy and Nami through mainstreet mutt. I found a Facebook post on their page, showed interest, and was able to communicate with both Amy and the foster mom Kelly without issue. They settled in right away, and I received their medical records and chip information through email before taking them home. Thanks!

Attempting to charge $550 for unvaccinated or fixed animals is mind blowing. This so called rescue get their animals from puppy mill auctions, Craigslist for free, and maybe some from actual rescues and shelters. This whole place is sketch. They DO NOT GIVE SHOTS NOR FIX THE ANIMALS per the 501c3 and rcw rules. You can see endless negative reviews backing this not only on google but Facebook and other social media platforms as well. The conditions these animals have been in at times is horrendous. Puppies barely old enough to eat hard food being given adult dog food and again never receiving actual shots or vet care. Steer clear of this puppy flipping rescue, because that’s what they are. They flip free animals and do nothing to ensure population control or vaccination status. Some of their fosters have even released private convos and photos on social media!

My daughter adopted a puppy from Main Street Mutt Rescue about five months ago. The puppy got one shot. Every time my daughter tried to contact them about shots and now spaying, they never got back to her. Before she worked with this group I warned her to get a spay certificate or something to insure that the money she spent would pay for the spay. She didn't bother to get one and now is going to pay money she doesn't have to spay her. A rescue should care whether or not more unwanted puppies come into the world. If they can't afford to back up their promises, the fee for the puppy should have been minimal. Get a puppy somewhere else or get some guarantee from a vet that they will keep their promises.

A wonderful rescue. I foster small dogs for Amy and she has been helpful, responsive and kind. She adores these animals and does all she can to save them and get them into loving homes.

Overall their organization is nice. Being a small rescue organization, their adoption fees are noticably higher then others of a similar type in Whatcom County. We've adopted one dog through them and she's a loving little pup and a great addition to our family.

I just adopted the sweetest kitten through Main Street Mutt rescue! Amy promptly put me in contact with one of her fosters (who could not have been nicer!!) & we arranged a meet so I could see the kittens. Everyone made this process super easy, and I couldn’t be happier! Big thanks to the whole Main St crew!

I adopted 2 sweet kittens from them 3 years ago. I was told that they had “all shots”, but could not tell me which ones or when. I contacted the main number and sent an email to ask about the shots, but never heard back. They should have been able to tell me exactly what vaccines they were given.I wondered if they had at any shots at all? I heard the same thing from reviewers.

I adopted a puppy from this business through a foster family. I'm very happy with my new pup but things are tough going. Firstly, the $450 adoption fee claims to cover vaccinations... Except those vaccines aren't administered by a licensed vet, so any organization (e.g. airlines, behavior schools, dog boarders), won't recognize them. So even if puppy actually was vaccinated, we had to repeat the shots regardless. As well, Main Street Mutt Rescue has no phone number because apparently it's a business from the nineteenth century. As well, they've not responded to any of my emails or questions about puppy. (EDIT: they eventually did, and even got us in touch with the families who adopted the siblings of our pup, so we could all cross-reference health stuff.)So through some veterinary investigation, we found that she has giardia, demodectic mange, kennel cough, and an abdominal infection resulting from some type of insect bite. We were told that the kennel cough and the bite infection could very possibly have been from after adoption, but the giardia definitely predated that. Mange is a little more complicated, so it's difficult to lay the blame at the mutt rescue, but their startling unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and opacity in presentation are all kind of red flags that we should have noticed.I would advise folks who are looking to rescue to go elsewhere. There are plenty of shelter dogs and puppies around Whatcom that need adoption and their shelters will continue to provide clear communication after adoption and they actually administer vaccines properly. I am happy with my mangy puppy, and every puppy is a lot of work, but there's clearly something missing in how this place conducts business.

I had very specific needs when looking for a dog. Everyone at Main Street Mutt was very kind and helpful. I was very needy the entire time, but everyone was so patient with me. The foster parents I adopted from we're absolutely amazing and trained my new little baby so many manners. My entire experience was amazing and they helped me so much. They don't have any pricing lists that I could find online. It was $350 to adopt my 5 year old dog. So if that's not what you're looking to spend, shop around. That's the only down side I had.I think it's well worth it for a little companion and main street mutt helped me find the perfect little fit

Inexperienced fosters. Terrible communication. They will lie to you to make themselves look better. They say they have the puppies best interest in mind but don’t realize the puppies are in bad situations and eating adult dog food…. Please. If you want a healthy puppy or dog… go to your local shelter. This is a joke of a company and have 0 idea what happens with their puppies/dogs. The “Foster” parents didn’t even know if the puppies were going to get shots/vaccinations. Whole process is sketchy and the dogs are treated very poorly.

Was a foster for this so called rescue. Had 2 fosters one named Sadie and the other Onyx. Sadie is 7 and aggressive with other dogs although we were told she was fine with other dogs. She attacked the pup twice, the last time puncturing him just over the eye. He was swollen down to his collar and oozing pus. Pam from MSMR took him on the premise he was going to the vet. He never did, and I'm not sure what happened to him. Cuz Pam blocked me after picking him up. Sadie was taken back also, and less than 3 weeks later, she was surrendered for euthanasia to the humane society. The young girl that brought her in said her name was Katie, and that she had adopted her from Texas. Funny thing was, Sadie had her tags from MSMR with her name on it. When asked about the tags, the girl said they were from another dog. I would highly recommend you stay far away from this rescue, as they are in it for the money not to help the animsls.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Plenty of reputable, responsible rescues in the area-- this is NOT one of them. I think Amy Millman, the owner of MSMR, means well, or at least meant well at one point, but she is in way over her head (something she has personally admitted to me on at least one occasion) and continues to overcommit to "saving" dogs from "high kill shelters", adopting them out to wildly unsuitable homes, then refusing to take them back whether it's weeks later or even less than 48 hours. Instead she instructs her adopters to take the dog to the local open admission shelter so they have to clean up her mess. I could go on and on about this "rescue", but you can read for yourself in the many reviews and articles throughout the years. Steer very, very clear from this place.

We filled out an application as required and stated what dog we would like to adopt over a month ago...the same dog is still on their website today? We are very interested in this dog and tried many ways to get in touch with them. You think that they would at least inform you one way or the other rather let you hang there. My wife and I are both retired with a nice home on 5 acres, I'm a cancer survivor we're both looking for a friend for companionship. This dog has been on my mind since day 1...very rude!

Any animal "RESCUE" facility whos adoption fees go up 200$ based off the cutness of an animal is straight trash. I get trying to make money but 1000$ to rescue a puppy..... Your trash..... We already have to get 1000 $ worth of stuff and new pet rental fees etc... And saying it's to ensure financial responsibility is A lie, just like the "vaccinations" you provide that aren't administered by a professional (or accepted by airlines, etc)
