It is one of the cleanest and most well organized grocery stores in a tourist market. As you will see in the pictures they have a great variety of products. The produce, bakery, deli, sushi, and flower section had great selections.

It's a great safeway. Only problems is it's busy AF and more expensive than any other Safeway in the state. So. Recommend starting a competitive business in Cle Elum. Steal the customers because you offer reasonably priced items and force them to be competitive in the market.

22mar2022 ~09:15 .. came in the Safeway Cle Elum for my favorite Cherry Turnovers. The Store was neat, organized and clean. Also, the Staff were cheery, courteous and helpful .. (i can only hope their Bosses recognize, appreciates, value and reward them well 😔).

It seems like a fine place except there is only a diaper changing station in the women’s bathroom. It’s pretty dirty and the latch is broken to clip in your baby. We have two children in diapers and it works well to each change a child at the same time, but here they put all the responsibility on the tired moms. What happens if it’s only a dad traveling with kids? I’m disappointed.

This is a great store for travelers to stop at. Handy on and off the freeway, great deli, clean restrooms, cheap gas, coffee shop. Store is at just the right distance to make a stop welcome. Stop here pretty much every time I cross the pass.

If you're a member & have a rewards card then this is your store. Better yet being a member & shop the weekly ad you can get some awesome deals!! Highest & freshest quality for their produce & meat! They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all their meat or you get your money back, & yes, they will refund if you're not happy. Out of 20yrs of shopping at Safeway I've maybe had to return meat two or three times & they really do stand by your satisfaction!! If you shop Safeway's ads & sales, you can stock up on everything and it will cost you less to shop here then at Walmart!! Just show their ads. Happy shopping!!

Usual excellence in groceries. Cheapest regular gas in town. August 2022-$4:06 a gallon.The porta potties need urgent attention on a Monday morning. Not nice.

Self check out closed and 1 cashier 11 pm.... 1 customer holds up close to 10 cause they can't read a coupon correctly. Just open self checkout and have that cashier assist those who need it.Worst run Safeway in Washington

Cheapest fuel between Tacoma and Pullman by far, sushi and a Starbucks on the premises-- excellent. The bathrooms are acceptable: there's sometimes a vague smell and it's not always super clean, but my picky a** will still use it. Regardless, a star must be deducted for the inconsistent bathroom :(

Sale Items are NEVER in Stock.The people are nice here, and try hard to do the right thing. but the truth is : this store is over priced, underserviced and would be out of business if there were ANY competition.I read these reviews and wonder how many of them are FAKE, as I have been stuck with Safeway in Cle Elum for 20 years, and have a different experience history.

Safeway is great. Been here for years and years. My go-to store whenever I don't feel like going to Ellensburg. There is a lot of food there and it is always being stocked up basically 24/7. Every time I walk in the store, there is always someone stocking more food on the shelves. It's very wonderful.But, for a small town I don't expect much, except when all tourists show up, it becomes very packed and crowded. To the point where it's sort of difficult to access carts and baskets. I couldn't really shop for food the last time I went because there were no carts or baskets.

Convenient access to the i90 and a good pharmacy and meat counter but the selection of items is small and the self service checkout lanes are more delicate than a china doll. If you use your own bags it needs assistance, if you start a new bag the self service needs assistance etc and to make matters worse there aren’t that many manned checkout lanes open so you’re forced to use the finicky self service machines.

Todays instalment>OVER PRICED:Just checked Fred Meyers website in Ellensburg where had I driven there, I would have saved 2 dollars on each Freschetta pizza I purchased. (Bought 10)That would have been a $20 dollar swing for 1 ITEM?Yes painful but true.Safeway Picks your pocked AFTER making you jump through al of there de-humanizing hoops.The Folks who work there are Kind and helpful, there corporate overlords are not.SAFEWAY= CORPORATE SHOPLIFTERI am Praying to end this hold on our little town,UNDERSTAFFED:As a local, I usually drive to Ellensburg as this store has a difficult time keeping staff paid despite the overpriced goods they sell.Corporate America doesn't pay wages hi enough to support housing in this area, so many of these folks are commuting to townThe people who work here are generally good hearted and kind, with the occasional outlier, crushed under a constant flow of travelers.The shelves are thinly stocked, and most everything is priced above what you would pay in issaquah or ellensburg.A Monopoly at its zenith.The pharmacy replaced an institution in town with exactly what you would expect from our corporate overlords.10-20-22:Updated to include my latest visit:- Even more hoops to jump through to check out.- Beer is overpriced by 20 percent....jump!- Cash only? no Card only? Travel through the gas station for the last 9 years 2023 has gotten so bad there needs to be direction one way in and out as I have seen people all over the parking lot waiting and almost coming to blows lately. The restrooms quality is the worst today the toilet paper holder upside down on floor and paper towel holder sitting in garbage can. Going to switch to warrior across the street price usually the same and restrooms well taken care of!

This is a EXTREMELY busy store that I haven't visited in years. I always enjoyed my previous visits in past years.I would say it has outgrown it's space as it is a main grocery outlet covering a large very rural area. Staff was nice and friendly inside. Parking lot needed some attention due to litter and how busy it was.

On our way to Leavenworth or Lake Chelan, we stop at this Safeway.When we try to get some sandwiches, always it takes about 20 minutes or more to have 3 sandwiches done (it wasn’t just one time, at least 3 times). And then I was surprised by the prices $8-$16. I think is too much for just a sandwich.

Safeway is a chain of grocery stores known for its savings on things, along with a healthy variety of grocery related items ranging from dairy to meat to produce and even home goods. This location is in Cle Elum, and is one of the only places to grab groceries around the area. It's usually pretty busy here, and the parking lot, although very large) can turn into a mess pretty quickly. Overall it's easy to get to though. They're pretty well stocked and prices are average, along with the staff being pretty good.

Deli makes sandwiches BETTER THAN SUBWAY! Always fresh sushi & AMAZING MEMBER prices, HOWEVER ALWAYS a long line or wait because it is constantly short-staffed. Customer service is extremely poor except for a select few individuals.

Linda at the deli is the bomb! She was so friendly and kind and gave us a really good takeaway lunch. Was going to just make a pit stop for fast food but I’m glad we decided to pop into the Safeway deli instead. Great service Linda, thank you!

It’s really nice having the safe way in this location. We were able to get a good supply of groceries and snacks that we needed for our trip. It was clean and conveniently located. They pretty much had everything we needed. Didn’t really need much produce, but it did look fresh. The prices were pretty competitive to any other grocery store even though they are pretty much the only ones out here. Recommend it.

I used to love this place. They had surprisingly good sushi. I recently began spending a lot of time in Cle Ellum and at this Safeway. I heard multiple employees make racist remarks and one of the employees told mutual friends what items I was purchasing. I'm sure this is illegal, and at least incredibly unethical. I've tried to contact them and have been hung up on multiple times. There are plenty of other stores in Cle Ellum and Ellensburg is 20 minutes away. Avoid this Safeway if you can.

This review is the for the DELI - Thank you for the great sandwich tonight. AND thanks for taking the time to split it so my wife and I each had our favorites. The flavor was amazing and we are already planning to come back for more in the near future. - YUMMY!--> 09/22/2022 UPDATE - wow oh wow - another amazing DELI sandwich tonight! - My wife & daughter went in to get basic groceries and since I was at home working overtime so as to afford to continue to live in Cle Elum—was hungry—they got me another absolutely amazing "made just for me" sandwich from the deli. <-- if any C-Suite that has Cle Elum Safeway on their radar is paying attention to this... as a local family—we cannot wait for grocery store options... BUT your current deli is damn good. Focus on such and even when another grocery store comes to Cle Elum our family will go into Cle Elum Safeway for the awesome deli sandwiches. :)

Highest priced grocery store I've been to. There is only one store in Cle Elum they have a monopoly., they have locals and I 90 traffic by the 🏀's and the prices there reflect that. Extremely busy on weekends during the summer. The lines resemble those of the concessions stand of a Seahawks game more than a grocery store. The profits have to be some of the highest there are for a grocery store but they still refuse to open more than two of the six lanes they have.
