We like this park. There is hiking available in the park and nearby, and the campground has both private and more open campsite options. The only negative is road noise if you choose a campsite closer to the road (which we do not). And if you walk from the campground across the street, the Geoduck has the BEST burger dip sandwich EVER (you will take leftovers back to your campsite).

Straight up amazing hike with a crazy fun name. The steam donkey loop trail is so beautiful. Trail can get tough (steep) in spots but definitely doable.

Stopped here to do some exploring and checked out the campground and river area. Definitely looks like a great spot to camp and has cabins available to rent also. The river access is close and there are some swimming spots but like all rivers, do not underestimate a slow looking river. Undercurrent is a real thing and you can be swept under so please be careful and have a life jacket.

Beautiful state park right on Hood Canal & next to a lovely river and a magestic forest filled with old growth trees wrapped in lush moss. Even our Buddhas were happy at our campsite!

It is quickly becoming one of our favorite campgrounds. It's a great launching pad to explore the Olymic Mt Range as well as the Hood Canal. Do yourself a favor, and while there, book a reservation at Hama Hama Oyster Farm located 20 minutes done the road. It's our favorite restaurant on the Olympic Peninsula.

This is a good size and well maintained facility with lots of RV and tent camping sites as well as about a dozen cabins to rent. The primary detractor is HWY 101 running through the park. On the whole, there were few loud vehicles within hearing distance. Although I'm sure you'd hear everything in a tent. The river does a great job of neutralizing most annoying noises. There are multiple restrooms and shower buildings. You can buy firewood on site for $6 which is typically good for one evening fire. There's no playground except nature's own. I didn't notice any handicapped accessible rental cabins. If you found this review to be helpful please consider adding a thumbs-up. 👍Restrooms: A new facility right next to the ranger station at the entrance is very roomy with a dozen 8x8 foot private showers and handicapped accessible restrooms. Shower tokens are each good for three minutes of hot water. You can buy tokens at the ranger station at two for a dollar.Dog-friendliness: Almost every camp site had at least one dog, but only one was a barker. Folks have been very responsible and considerate.

It's nice. But I could hear the road which wasn't cool. We were there in July, off season would probably be better. Some really nice walking trails. Restrooms were good

We decided to do end of year dispersed winter break family camping, but unfortunately, every campground we checked out was closed or road block due to the storm. We drove on HWY 101 for over 6 hours and finally made our stop to check this place out. We're so glad we stopped in and found out this campground is open year round 🙌 from very nice host "Jerry". We were the only tent campers here, lol... we had a few RV neighbors. We ended up staying here 2 nights we had one day of sun the last day was raining. We stayed at campsite #42 and had the whole loop area all to ourselves, so that was nice. Definitely be back to check out the cabins.$20 a night is not bad.Including hot showers 🚿Fire pit and picnic tableThere is plenty of warm, clean restroom 🚻 👌Nice trail to hike onNext to the river Definitely a plus to go fishing.Note: Book 6 months in advance during the summertime.Restrooms: Warm and clean token showers.$1 you get 2 tokens1 token = 3 minutes of hot showerDog-friendliness: Dog friendly, dogs must be leashed, and plenty of poles that provide doggy bags and garbage cansPicnic area: Every site had a nice, in good shape picnic table.

Lots of fun little side trails to explore. It was amazing to see the salmon spawn. We camped for a couple nights and got to hear the elk bugle. The ranger we met during the day was really nice, but the one we met in the evening was a little rude to my family and I.

Beautiful, well cared for park. Our spot (89) was level, paved, and degrees free. Our loop was away from the main park and Hwy 101, which helped keep the noise down. The loop had a building with 2 pit toilets and a short walk to the main restroom/shower building.

Excellent park for family friendly vacations. Bring your bikes and scooters for the biking trail. Showers and restrooms throughout and many options for tents to RV spaces. Park pass included with your stay or you can purchase one for a year for not much more. Also, the squirrels will break into your Nutella and Graham crackers if you leave them out.Restrooms: CleanDog-friendliness: Leash required

There's plenty to do at Dosewalips. You can hike, play in the river, walk to the beach or just hang out on the well groomed fields. There's lots of spots that have full hookups for those that need them and although most spots are out in the open, they do feel spacious. There are many bathrooms and a few showers. Like all other Washington State parks, you buy tokens to use the shower and it's $.50 for 3 minutes. The water is nice and hot but pressure is low.Although Dosewalips is a beautiful park with lots to do, it's also located right along the highway. It's a popular highway for motorcycles which is fine but some of the groups that ride through can be very loud. If highway noise doesn't bother you too much, this is a great park to camp at.Restrooms: Clean and well stocked but lack water pressure for showersDog-friendliness: There were a lot of dogs at the campground. Owners seemed to be very good about keeping them leashed and cleaning up after them.Picnic area: Each spot had a grill area and a picnic table.

Updated Review:The park was bustling on a late September weekend in 2022. This looks like a great spot for family camping and picnicking. There is a manned ranger station nearby, clean bathrooms with showers, and RV facilities.I have seen elk here in the past.Previous Review:I stopped through just briefly on a clear but cold February Friday. This looks like a great group of facilities and was not as deserted as I'd expected for late winter. There are campgrounds, RV lots, picnic areas, and nearby hiking. There's a boat launch not too far down the highway as well. This may be a bustling spot in the upcoming spring and summer months.Olympic Otter

This was my first time being here, and we drove from Seattle early in the morning to go clamps digging here. The state park is so spacious and clean than I expected, and there are many restrooms right across the entrance to the parking. We got some beautiful and delicious oysters, clams, and mussels. The whole experience was great and memorable. If you have kids and want them to have some great recreational activities, you can take them here for a walk while digging some clams. All you need is a clam shovel or specialized tube (clam gun) and most importantly is your clam licence. Please check the weather and tide information before coming and after all please enjoy your moment

A beautiful park with in park trails and access to Dosewallips river. Some tent camping at beginning of park road, but more catered to RVs. Nice grassy areas with some big trees dispersed throughout. Overall, many sites are pretty sun exposed. This is a great location for families or RVers. Sun shade shelters advised, especially if tent camping. Due to the openness of the campground, also not the quietest experience—might want to bring ear buds or ear plugs. Each park has for it’s own uniqueness, but these are variables here to be prepared for during peak season. Facilities and campground expansion construction is going on now. Can’t wait to see it when it’s complete!

I love Dosewallips, especially in the fall. It's peaceful, and usually, you can see the Elk come down into the park.

Beautiful views of the hills behind you and the ocean in front of you. Small little walk to stretch your legs after a drive. The kiddo loved the view tower. It had signs for fun information on the nature!

Beautiful park with cabins & some are heated. Very peaceful. They just added new shower building with 8 to 10 private shower rooms, Due to open by April 1st or sooner. This is 1 of the best parks we have visited & stayed at, It have a lot to offer for the Visitor or Camper. This would be a great model of what a WA State Park should be like.

A beautiful park that is well maintained. But the real beauty here is the sorrounding areas such as the beach where you can pick oysters or clams(check the board which season is open) and cook them at your site. There is a running river in the area you can walk by and if you love birds you in for a treat because there are bald eagles in the beach area, in I counted at least 8 hanging around at one tree overlooking the beach area where you pick clams and oysters. Definitely will be back here because of the rustic setting/vibe this location gives.

This is a wonderful campsite to take your family to. I went with my partner and her family and we had a great time! Lots of trails to walk and there is a river that you "could" technically kyak down if the river is high enough. It says it's not recommended but it defiantly looked like it was possible. I highly recommend bringing something like a volleyball net or something because there are lots of kids and my aunt basically had half of the camps kids having a blast playing volleyball! Dog friendly!

A great and beautiful place for photos of mini waterfalls and a big waterfall. Beautiful and easy hike. Though if exploring for better spots to take photos be careful not to lean on a tree that'll give way and have you soaked from head to toe.

Loved the trails and the camping facilities. Wish the camp ground area had a few more trees for shade. Nice to see so many campers with dogs, so bring yours if it's friendly. Lots to do nearby and lots of wildlife.

Add this place to the list of places to go and experience. I've lived in WA for a long time and had never heard of this place until finding it recently on Google Maps. Directions were easy enough. Park on the left hand side and you're there. The "hike" is about 10 minutes max. Not handicap accessible, but my 3 year old managed just fine. Skye made it back in one piece too. Well worth the drive. Bring a picnic and good camera. According to the locals, when the rains hit, it's another story altogether. Don't turn this place into a trap and do pack out any trash you bring with you. Keep it special. Keep it clean.

Great place to camp. Nice hiking trails in the park, and more a short distance away. Fun to walk out to the beach and watch the tide come up so quickly on the gently sloping beach. Explored the local flora, identifying some plants that were new to the group. In the morning, we found a herd of about 40 elk wandering through the campground looking for some shade.
