Excellent, Excellent!!!Down home delicious food!! I will be returning to this place, I tried the meatloaf it was delicious and made from scratch with perfection as well as the green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. My husband tried hamburger chopped steak it was tender and delicious. Excellent all the way around with extremely friendly service!! We both tried their milk shakes while waiting on food OMGOODNESS THE BEST!!

Absolutely the best I've had in Vinton. Cooked to perfection. Large portions. The green beans were the best I ever had. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. Had the chopped steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The steak and washed potatoes were covered in the best gravy. Had a chocolate milkshake while I waited on the meal. It was also awesome. I will definitely return again and recommend that if you haven't yet tried them that you owe it to yourself to give them a try, you won't be disappointed 😉.Parking: Plenty of free parking availableKid-friendliness: Burgers, dogs, and fries for the kids, not to mention the milkshakesWheelchair accessibility: Yes

1st time there today. Awesome & even silly service if you want to have a good time & have a sense of humor. Grant it, if you are a foodie perfectionist & very precise about textures & flavor points this is NOT for you. This is a local comfort food spot. Economic prices & a "chill" menu. PLENTY of parking spots across the street (hence the tremendous library parking lot) Beats the pulp out of the Olive Garden lolParking: Parking by the HUNDREDS !!!

Didn't get a chance to try the food, there were four of us that was going to try Smileys but one of us was in a motorized wheelchair and no ramp to get up on the sidewalk to enter the restaurant. This is after it says on their website that it is wheelchair accessible???? That is definitely not true!!! I went in to ask if they had a ramp and was told no," we are sorry. That has been a issue here several times." Well by law there is supposed to be a ramp and also it is very non caring about people confined to a wheelchair! You know people in wheelchairs enjoy going out to eat just like people that have no trouble getting around!Wheelchair accessibility: There is no wheelchair accessible entrance!!!!

David, his family and staff cook and serve tender, good tasting food. From barbeque (bbq) to comfort food, I’ve never had a bad meal. The salads are made with fresh veggies, and the dressing is great.I’m also a fan of their fried chicken.They have been a favorite of mine for many years when I lived in Vinton. Now that I live in Florida, I still make a stop there.Today I had a salad, then for the main course I enjoyed the fried pork chops and mashed potatoes with white gravy. Very tasty!

Honestly, it's everything you want in a local Mom and Pop joint that also does killer BBQ.I hope love doesn't carry too many calories, because they are packing everything with it.Yeah, we gush - but Smileys is worth the extra gush.

The food was good and the christian atmosphere and service were very nice. Only suggestion would be, is to offer different breads for their chicken salad sandwich which is what I ate. A croissant, wheat bread, or pita would be nice choices as the Texas toast overwhelmed the serving of chicken salad. The potato salad and carrot cake were delicious!

I really wanted to give this restaurant a 4 but I couldn't after weighing the "cons" with the pros. I will put the pros first, we were feeding five people. The people are SUPER nice, I did not have to wait long for the order to be bagged and parking was very ample. Chopped steak and gravy was good! Mac and Cheese, pinto beans and mashed potatoes were also good. Chicken Salad sandwich, hot dogs and the double cheeseburger were a thumbs up as well. Cons: The burger was ordered with a sunny side up egg and the egg was NOT sunny side up, it was more of a partly scrambled fried egg. The cake of the day was so dry, it did not get finished, total waste of money. The fries with the hotdogs and the smiley fries must have been cooked in old oil. My daughter would not eat the smiley fries saying they had a funny smell. I bit into one and understood what she meant, spit it out and they hit the trash can with the cake and other order of fries. Nonetheless, we will give this place a try again because there were many positives, I think we will know what to avoid in the future.

Ate there for the first time this past weekend. Friendly server and our meal was very good. Delicious fried chicken and good home style coleslaw. The green beans were nicely seasoned. Looking forward to a return visit.Parking: Parking is fine. Parking lot is rather small, but plenty of parking on the street.

Food was terrible. Nothing really redeemable. For a “Grill & BBQ” the food tastes like it never touched a grill. I feel like they boiled the pork and then just spurted some Sweet Baby Ray's on it afterwards. Fries were terrible. Overall truly heinous.Atmosphere is terrible. If you are a christian maybe it’s a plus for hokey jesus music to play over cheap speakers and for a picture of jesus watching you eat, but non-christians (or even non-evangelicals) will feel pretty assaulted by the decor and music.Staff were nice enough, I guess.Truly a miracle that this place is somehow open given how terrible every aspect of this place is, and the fact a vastly superior BBQ place is like two blocks away.—You know a place is bad when the sketchy five-star reviews by the jesus crew (and probably fake people) praise the *PARKING* more than anything else.Also, the parking lot is terrible and not handicap-accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: Good luck lmao

Came in this restaurant to get some food. Watched the manager threaten a doordash driver saying he was going to punch him. The driver had not done anything. I'm surprised about the owners actions and highly recommend you stay away from this restaurant. When I did get my food it was cold and undercooked. I thought about trying to get it redone but I thought twice when I realized the actions of the owner. There was also a fire code violation that I observed. Also a health violation from my understanding because the men's room did not have a toilet paper holder. The soap was also out when I went to wash my hands. The parking is also horrible only a very small lot only for about six cars I think it was.I do not recommend coming here at all.

Got take out Friday, fried catfish, and it was delicious! Lunch after church was meatloaf, again delicious! Mashed potatoes, broccoli, and cabbage both times, so good! But THE best was the coconut cake! Oh. My. Goodness!! We'll all be back for sure! ❤️

I found this place on Grubhub by complete accident. Got "familysized" chicken dinners both time and their chicken is amazing as is their dinner rolls. However; BOTH times, I never received my second side dish with the large "family sized" dinners and it made me a bit grumpy. However, I'd give this place a try (go in person to ensure you get your sides LOL)---I'm telling you, best fried chicken that I've had in Roanoke.

Been ordering thru uber eats and I love the meatloaf dinner with two sides and a roll only things was the slaw was sweet and the cooked cabbage in which I love was alittle to sweet. Love cooked cabbage but savory and my slaw savory havent tried nothing else but all in all it was good and plan to order again
