In Richmond VA we have Food Lion instead of Food City. Stopping at this location and the one in Bluefield VA, made me wish we had Food City 😂🤣. The stores are very modern and clean. The prices are higher than at your really large grocery store chains (but that's expected). They have a very good grocery selection. Their bakery/deli has a really nice selection and everything looked fresh and delicious. And the staff are very friendly and helpful

Food City is always a bustling store. Friday was no exception. With great sales in the meat department and as crowded as it was, the meat dept. Stayed stocked, the workers are always helpful and polite. I love my local Food City!

Sad when a store stops customers from getting water out a public water fountain. Also, hope y'all know about the roach problem in the kitchen sometimes they fall in the fryer.

Edit: dropping two star because they sold me rancid chicken. They also had 3 month old expired oat milk that I informed them of 4 separate times before they did anything about it. There is no pride in the staff that works here. They don’t care about quality or doing a good job.Decent prices. Sometime cheaper than Walmart, sometimes not. The staff is more friendly though!

Shopping experience was good. They have a lot of selection. Their bag boys are awful. The one I had did not offer to help me out. Instead insisted to pile a birthday cake and cupcakes ontop of my already full hands. Long story short my daughter's birthday cake was destroyed in the parking lot because they wont help you out as well as my bread and eggs was squished. Management handled it amazing. They also was not surprised and stated they had a lot of trouble with the bag boys. Only reason I gave it so low was because of them. They dont do their job appropriately.

Went there yesterday afternoon for the sole purpose of getting some beer. Didn't realize the wide variety of beer they had to choose from. Craft beer, imported beer, domestic beer, near beer..even root beer!Needless to say I got what I came for, and then some. That was the best part of my trip. However the cleanliness and friendliness was not to be outdone.That being said, I would highly recommend any one to this store. Then would be amazed if they had one negative thing to say after they're visit! 5/5 *

Good, helpful employees, good helpful management. Only complaint is the self check out is terrible! At least every other item scanned causes the machine to say "please see attendant"... Takes longer to use it than standing in line at a regular check out.

The only place in Grundy Virginia you will find live lobster I swear. I did get some looks for bringing in my service dog, but I think it's because the area isn't used to it. The management was welcoming to him. They have wonderful fresh cut meats and fish which I think is super awesome in this area.

Popular regional chain. Full line grocery. Deli, day clinic, pharmacy, Western Union on site. In January, 2022, department layouts were rearranged. Also l, during slow business hours there is a face lift being done on interior walls with drywall fixes and paint giving a brighter look.

I have shoppoed here for years. The workers are always nice and help if u need help i just dont like their pricing they know this is the only grocery store besides walmart now and they are very high on everything and the sales that they usaually have is the normal price on those items at any other store it is and has always been a place to meet and greet family and friends.

Prices could be better based on the area's current poverty level and economic status. We all have to eat and more than likely, if you're doing your own shopping, the struggle is real. We will take our business to where we get the most for our money.

I ask the deli personnel to slice me some cold cuts, well i told the gentleman i would come back and pick them up as he was backed up a little. I continue shopping and go back to the deli some time later and not only has my cold cuts not been sliced but this gentleman was cleaning the slicing machine and wouldn't even come and ask me if i needed help with anything.... Bad customer service right there....

Love their produce and meat department. Prices can be a little on the expensive side. They do offer a store savings card that you can use for discounts on advertised items.
