No fancy but great country food. I love fries but never have I been served HOT French fries. The burned roof of my mouth was worth it. Pulled pork sandwich was tender, spicy and sweet. While eating watched so many carry out orders for burger and fries. Can’t wait to come back and try a burger and fries. Highly recommend

I've been stopping at Howell's since 2004-2005. I doubt he remembers but the customer service worker, Dean, knew my great-aunt Linda and her husband so whenever I'd go into the store he was always picking on me which at times turned my day around. Very neighborly store to visit

I'm from Ohio My sister in-law lives in Patrick springs and needed some help fixing up her house . I saw the Howells gas station and stopped I got a hamburger and found out we was family they rock and are very friendly. I will come back and visit y'all again

They have such awesome customer service and are so very friendly. The food is really good and fairly priced. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! It also doesn't hurt that the women that work there are very attractive. 😁

The food is outstanding. Friendly folks and a great atmosphere. The hot dogs were excellent and cheeseburger was the best. Its kind of out of the way but worth the trip.

Quite a quaint old school kinda store. They offer a number of services, from quick grab items you would find at a convenience store as well as a deli area where you can get good food at a fair price. The VERY best feature of this store is they will come out and pump your gas!!!! This is the closest you will get to full service in this day and age!!!!!!

Awesome simple food and great people. Hamburgers, hotdogs and the best tots! If you're around Stuart during lunch or breakfast check them out. They also are one if the only places around with non-ethanol gas which our old truck craves.

Just drove to Portsmouth the other day that got me to thinking about how many times I have driven the whole length of 58. I stopped here this morning and realized from Portsmouth to Hillsville, maybe beyond, there are only other 3 places this good and one of those in a completely different price range. (Not considering business 58 that goes through some towns still). I wished I would have stopped years ago. BLT has been good but thought I would try a chicken biscuit, with tomato, and mayo. Holding it didn't help make it look as good as when they made it. Thick tender chicken. Going to be a while.before I get something else for breakfast. Will fill you up. Great dinners. And local honey's. They go quick I meant to get some sourwood honey last time, sold out this trip. Would also make a good stop if going to Rock Castle for a hike on RT 8 or if making a trip up on the parkway further out 58. Inside and out the Restaurant and store are kept clean and organized

Has great home cooked style food and big hamburgers for very good prices. Service is a bit slow as they get very busy at lunch. Seem like they need an extra hand during peak hours

Very friendly at staff that appreciates their customers. Excellent breakfast I had for 3 different times However today for the lunch special was a Chicken Salad sandwich and fries for $4.99. The sandwich had a spoonful of chicken salad on it. For that price it should have been more chicken salad . My rating for breakfast is 4 stars Chicken salad a 1 star. Next time If I order the chick salad sandwich please put more on the chicken salad on the sandwich so I can taste it.

Really great diner! Place your order at the counter and they bring it to you right away. All the regular Southern favorites from biscuits and gravy to a country ham plate, they have them all. We got two lunches with two bottles of Coke for $11. Good food, great price and Christian music on the radio-it just doesn't get any better-but it does! Attached to the diner is a small grocery store with a good selection for it's size and there's also a full service gas station. Even though they pump your gas for you the prices are always better than average. This family owned business gets two thumbs way up!!

Wonderful environment!! The food is great and fresh. They cook breakfast all day and their lunch and dinner menu has a wide selection. Friendly workers and gas is pumped for you. The cleanest place I've been in to eat ever.

I DARE anybody to find a bigger, better tasting and cheaper biscuit anywhere along US 58. The ladies in here know how to cook! I've only eaten their breakfast biscuits, but if there out of this world, the rest of the food has got to be good. This place has been here for decades.It's a great community restaurant, convience store and Full Service Gas Station.GREAT people, friendly down to earth! Just the way a hometown business should be!

"Good mornin' dear. What can I get cha?" Southern hospitality at it best. Friendly cook/waitress knew everyones name and order as soon as they walked thru the door. Small town gas/ grocery with a resturant tucked in the corner. When I got out of the car all I could smell was bacon. A perfect start to my breakfast outing. My BLT with egg and sweet tea was served within 5 minutes. I look forward to going back, maybe for lunch or dinner.
