Switched pharmacies from Walmart and dealing with long wait times. CVS on Barterbrook Rd has been great and the RX is filled within an hour or so. The app is awesome too, it gives you a notification when they receive the RX and another one once it's ready for pickup.

Save your time and money and patience and just go somewhere else. This is the biggest joke of a pharmacy I've ever seen. They filled my old prescription(they filled my new prescription last month)and when I tried calling back and telling them the lady hung up on me so I went in there and the pharmacist told me that I could have my other prescription if I paid for it again!!! I had to contact my insurance company to get them to sort it out. Absolutely ridiculous and very poor business practices.

We used Walgreens for years and thought poor customer service just came with all pharmacies. When we moved here earlier this year, insurance made us switch to CVS. This location has gone above and beyond every single time we go. Our new doctor told us that this particular location is exceptionally good. It's true.

The actual retail store is decent. The pharmacy is a joke. You wait days for medications. They’ll call and tell you it’s ready, just to show up and it’s not. Oh and my personal favorite, they’ll give you someone else’s medicine.

What a joke of a business. Poorly ran and waited as long as a week for perceptions. Needs help and good management. Poor employees in the pharmacy are short staffed big time and stress out. Not fair to customers or employees.

It’s just how everyone else put it. The pharmacy staff is nice and helpful but there are not enough staff. I typically spend an hour here trying to pick something up that would have taken 15 minutes at a different pharmacy.

This is the worst pharmacy ever… they claim your RX with your insurance and never have the medication in stock and then it’s hell to get the prescription reversed so that you can pick it up elsewhere … I hate this place I really hope they shut this place down.

I'm sure they are short handed but right now it is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!! Prescriptions are called in and 2 & 3 days later it is still not filled. End up having to sit around for 30 minutes waiting. And God forbid you try to call so you don't go the whole way there for nothing and NOBODY answers the phone EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I will be transferring all of my prescriptions.

The pharmacy never answers their phone!!! Today no only did they not answer the phone they must have taken their phone off of the hook because after trying to call for the past two hours their phone is dead!!! Didn’t even ring!!! I’ll be changing my insurance at the end of the year to make sure I can go to another pharmacy. My wife’s insurance is at Walmart and their service is fantastic!!! Walmart here I come!!!

The pharmacy here is simply too busy for the few people they have to do their jobs. The staff themselves are great when you get to them. They're friendly and effective despite being overloaded. They are, however, completely overloaded, and it's a situation that has remained constant for years. Either CVS isn't paying enough to attract staff or they are too cheap to spend the labor hours needed to staff this location properly.I bet there's some cycle going on where customers in store get tired of waiting and fill out the surveys indicating that the wait time is bad. Corporate tells the pharmacist that the metrics are bad, so the pharmacist focuses on people in the store (the ones filling out the surveys) and stops answering the phone. Eventually someone will call corporate to complain about that and corporate will warn the pharmacist about that too. At no point is the pharmacist given the tools needed to actually accomplish everything (in this case, more man hours). Seeing the writing on the wall, the pharmacist leaves this location. While the above is speculation, i've seen new pharmacists behind the counter every few months for the few years i've picked up prescriptions here. The pharmacists keep changing even as many of the rest of the staff remain the same. I suspect they're being blamed for a situation they can't possibly change.I originally chose to fill my prescriptions here because the location was convenient, but i've given up on it. It has had the same problems for years now. If something were going to change or improve, it would have done so by now. The staff themselves have always been great, but there have never been enough of them. I have my prescriptions filled elsewhere now. The location isn't as convenient, but the staff are just as friendly and helpful. Importantly, they also aren't overloaded. I spend much less time waiting and they actually answer the phone there.

Pharmacy was obviously running a skeleton crew, and they were hustling to help everyone in a timely manner. Friendly, even though they were pressured by impatient customers. I like them, and so glad to have finally found a friendly pharmacy. I'll wait happily if treated respectfully, and I was. The store front clerks were exceptional as well, even though their printer kept breaking, and challenging customers, they kept at it with smiles. I'll be back! I hesitate to post this, because I want them all to myself!

So many bad reviews- they deserve it. I don’t blame the staff. They were swamped and understaffed in pharmacy. Do NOT rely on the pharmacy- go elsewhere if u need any prescriptions. Shame on cvs- I am from RI and cvs is excellent closer to headquarters.

The pharmacist A.Lam denied multiple people they prescription because he felt uncomfortable! How can my doctor say I can get something and a pharmacist deny me it? I was the third African American that was denied today by him! Worst cvs I’ve been too! I have a torn achilles too so he denying me pain meds is ridiculous!

I only give this horrible CVS pharmacy on Barterbrook Road a 1 star because I can’t give a BIG FAT 0. They lie to to you about your meds being ready after you receive a text and even after waiting 2 weeks for them and then asks if you could wait 30 minutes to fill it and even then they tell you we will expedite it when you can’t wait because I am expecting it to be ready to pick up while I’m on my way to work. And it’s still not ready the next day. I am DONE with this poorly run pharmacy. Everything the other reviewers say are true. I even called the Customer Support, they lie and don’t care either.

This is the worst CVS location I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If you call in a refill be prepared to wait weeks for it to be filled. If you need to talk to anybody, forget it. I’ve spent a total of 8 hours waiting on hold for someone to pick up the phone over the last few days because my son is completely out of 3 important meds and nobody has ever answered the phone even once. I have a dog on seizure meds which can only be filled 5 days in advance and the stress of worrying each month whether or not they’d fill them in time is too much. 2 people and a dog rely on them for meds and I can’t continue to spend hours on end on hold or standing in line in person just to find out if they ever plan on getting to my refills. I tried to switch my prescriptions over to another CVS location and since I had 4 “in process” one of which has been in process for 2 WEEKS, I was unable to transfer them. The other CVS even tried to call for me and they kept getting hung up on. If a store cannot be properly staffed in order to fill important medications before customers run out of them close it down. I’ve never had such an awful time month after month trying to get meds filled.

I was an employee of CVS for almost 5 years. I understand how the pharmacy can be and don’t like to bash anybody! But it’s disappointing when you call 3 days in a row to get a prescription refilled and can’t get a single person on the phone EVER. Especially after 20+ mins on hold that’s sad. Sorry to say but they have lost my business and I will be transferring my prescriptions to Walgreens. Need to step up the customer service.

I really wish this pharmacy was better!! I have waited on the phone for over 1/2 hour at a time just trying to get through!! They simply don't answer the phone. Prescriptions have been messed up and/or not refilled in adequate time. The staff is flat out rude both in the pharmacy and at the front of the store. If you are able, go to another pharmacy for your needs!!

The staff in the pharmacy are relatively friendly. However, every single time I have a prescription filled it’s never ready when I arrive. I understand if I come straight from the doctors office and they haven’t had the opportunity to fill my script yet, but I usually wait until the next day, after my doc sends the script (to give them the chance to get to it) and I still end up waiting in the lobby. I understand being busy, which they always are, but I do get frustrated when they have a whole extra day to have my medication ready and it isn’t. This doesn’t just happen “sometimes”, it has been every time sense I had to swap to this pharmacy..

I am a fellow pharmacist. I can not get through to them by phone to get a copy which transfer access is required by law in Virginia. Guess I will go there after I close and stand in-line to physically get the transfer. If CVS is not going to support their staff then they should close this store and transfer the patients/customers to a pharmacy that will like mine, Honest Rx.

If your needing your medicine then you better call a refill as soon as you pick one up. You wait 1 week for them to send the refill notice to the doctor. Then 3 weeks for them to continue to say they never received it then when you go in you wait over an hour for them to tell you they never got it. You have to make them look and tell you oh yes we just got it. It will be over an hour for us to refill it. They blame the fact that they have lost people but even coming back the next day you are in line for 90 mins!

The CVS is always clean and has a wonderful staff. There is a staff member up front that always says hello. Actually there is one lady that works there..... she seems to know everyone that walks through the door and she is so kind. They do a great job with pictures. They have a full selection of all items. Additionally, the Pharmacy is wonderful too!! They are all kind, quick and easy to work with. I am new in town and I actually drive several miles out of my way to go to this store because it has such a delightful ready to help staff.

If I could zero stars I would. Hands down the most difficult pharmacy I've ever had to deal with (and I've dealt with a lot because I used to work in health care). Will not answer the phone so you can't call ahead to let them know you will be coming to pick up your prescription. Left work early yesterday and walked in to let them know I needed a prescription filled. They told me to wait an hour. I left came back in an hour and 10 minutes and then they told me it would be another 15 minutes because yet again somehow their system erased my insurance... I shouldn't have been surprised it's like that every time. I will be filing a formal complaint and refuse to buy even a candy bar at CVS ever again.

Take my 1 star rating & subtract stars from it. Negative 10 is the score I would give CVS on Barterbrook Road. I seriously sat for 20 minutes at the drive thru window listening to a speaker blare "CALL FOR PHARMACY" every 10 seconds... while a lady stood there staring blankly, leaning on her elbows, fixing her hair & ignoring it. No joke! They don't have an understaffed issue. They just have a staff issue period. I so badly wanted to say... are you going to answer that?? It was annoying & redundant & this girl wasnt doing anything. If I could hear it from outside the closed window & in my car...then surely she could. She was standing right next to it!When I pointed out that I never got an answer, when I called earlier, the gal was very rude and shot at me that they are understaffed. No sweetheart, you're problem is that you have workers just standing there, staring at the sky out the window, and purposefully ignoring it! Let's be honest. Walgreens has the same amount of workers but they never just ignore their phone... you might be placed on a short hold but they do answer it, & you can too. It's just called being lazy.I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone. Whoever runs it needs to be fired... along with their lazy, very rude staff. I am not shocked by how many 1 star ratings they have recieved here. It's painfully obvious they can't do their jobs efficiently. You need to reasses & figure it out! Pay better attention to who you hire. It's not a shortage issue. It's a lazy issue. 100%

I have gotten my prescriptions filled for several years here. The last several months has changed dramatically. The staff is not Friendly, they take an excessive amount of time to fill prescriptions and they can’t seem to keep The correct information on file concerning insurance and prescription.I recently changed pharmacies and have had a much better experience.

This CVS location used to be great. Now, they're always understaffed, rarely answer the phone, and my prescription is never ready when they say it will be. I spent a combined 45 minutes on hold tonight. I hung up before getting to speak with a human. I understand it is a very busy time with flu season and COVID-19, but it has been happening a lot lately. I'm thinking of switching to another pharmacy. I don't want to because it's close by and I've been a customer for years, but it might be time to change if things don't get better soon.

Terrible experience. We wasted hours trying to get medicine to be turned away at the end and told they couldn't fill it because it was filled elsewhere. Normally they just transfer it and it's no big deal. She refused to do it. I asked why nobody could have told us that it was filled elsewhere during the previous two interactions. She said she didn't know. So we are driving most of an hour away to pick them up in another city. They're very busy but the customer service is terrible. When I called it in she said give them 2 hours. My husband went after 3 hours and had to wait 2 hours-only for them to close for the night and still didn't give him my medication. Today I gave them most of the day to get it filled, called and they said give them 2 hours. We show up and it still isn't ready and this is the first she tells me they cannot fill it which isn't true.

I move a lot. And I have been to a lot of pharmacies. Insurance can make getting medications a TOTAL nightmare, but they always go above and beyond to do everything that they can to get it resolved. And they are kind. And they are courteous. I have never had a single bad experience with one of their employees. In fact, remarkably enough, I don't think I have had anything short of a delightful interaction with anyone. I tried changing to a location closer to my house, but why settle for anything less than the best in customer service?

I had a vaccine appointment. Upon arrival I was told that NO one was there to give them. I was told they would call me to reschedule. Someone should have called me and others to inform them before we drove in. POOR POOR POOR PLACE

NEVER in my life have I dealt with a more unprofessional company. I called the pharmacy and was hung up on TWICE because (in her words) she doesn’t have time to discuss my issue. I called the store manager. She said there’s really nothing she can do. The pharmacy called me back for whatever reason and I tried asking the same question I had been trying to ask and the pharmacy manager cut me off mid sentence for the third time and told me not to get loud with her. I was talking at a normal tone. Not rude. Nor was I cussing. It almost seemed like she was putting on a show for someone who was listening to her. Ended up hanging up on me again for the third time. THE WORST store I’ve ever spoke to. I’m just in awe that a company would allow anyone ESPECIALLY management speak to a customer the way she spoke to me. Not only did she tell me to stop talking multiple times but she flat out insulted me.CVS really needs to consider looking into this location. I can’t imagine they’d allow any employee to speak to customers that way.Additionally each call was recorded on my phone. It doesn’t give me the option to attach to this review but I’d be more than happy to forward it to upper management. And I will be posting it to other review sites.
