Passing through - really enjoyed the ambience, decor, and sitting area on a rainy day. Ordered some coffee to go and had a chance to sample the quiche which was excellent.Cappuccino was ever so slightly over roasted but that might be a preference (for me!). Coffee is intelligentsia though, and best coffee I’ve had in the area. Had the Cuban coffee on site and enjoyed that immensely (so might be the difference between to go versus on site).You could swing by here for souvenirs and there’s plenty of parking in back. Overall would stop by again if ever in the area!

Never have I EVER been so pleased by the service. I walked in and was greeted by a frightening smile from employee Sarabeth Ellis. She did a little jiggle which made me laugh. She was just delightful! You should definitely go here! (Be aware that there is a game of chess inside, watch out) (also employee Sarabeth asked me what I wanted when I wasn’t ready)

We came here during the fall foliage season, and the coffee shop was fully packed. The pastries were nice, and the lemon bar was also pretty good. We enjoyed eating the desserts nearby the river in their backyards (there were also some chairs there). Overall, it’s a nice bakery / coffee shop in this small town. (Follow me on IG ➡️ miss_dawang)

A great serendipitous find on a drive thru Sperryville. We noticed the sign for the shop and doubled back. Parking was a bit odd but plentiful. The shop is small and crowded. A large blackboard displays the fare. We both got a ginger scone that wS delicious. Light and airy with chunks of ginger. We got a maple latte and a Black Bear latte. Both were hot and creamy fresh with wonderful natural tastes.A lot of the shop space is dedicated to tourist t-shirts and stuff. But please take the time to use the most outstanding restroom I have seen in a while. Toasty warm, crisply clean and beautifully appointed.The building is historical so take the time to read about it.A great little coffee shop.

This is a beautiful cafe! The ambiance is wonderful and feels cozy. Love the gorgeous chandelier.I hike often and stop for a latte at a new place every time. I stopped in and had a vanilla oatmilk latte last weekend and I was *shocked* at the price - it was almost $8! Additionally, the latte was fair but very heavy on the oatmilk so it lost its flavor.Overall, I would not come back for just a coffee. However, photos of the food look delicious!

I am extremely food picky and to say this is the best turkey BLT I’ve ever had was not an understatement. We ordered the weekend “picnic” sandwich, which comes in the cutest box packed with chips, a cookie, and a sandwich. I got gluten free bread which I would definitely recommend!! My husband got a turkey cheddar sandwich which came on a hoagie-type roll. The BLT had the perfect ratio of content to sauce.. most places don’t add enough sauce. The women working were also SO kind and friendly.. the place itself was also cool, VERY busy, but for good reason! We sat outside in a little garden area and will return. Also, the coffee was fantastic .

Normally the service and food are delightful, 5 star worthy. I called and asked if the Chicken pot pie could be made to go. She said yes. I got back to my office and it was frozen. I called and asked about that, she said all Togo pot pies are frozen. I reminded her that I called and asked about it, she had no response. I asked her to just please tell folks it comes frozen when it is to go. The microwave made my crust too chewy...no directions given.My husbands lunch was great!!

Beautiful little cafe in Sperryville! Sweetest staff and one of the best coffees we tried recently! They had soo many flavors for Latte I can't even keep track 😅 tried the Toasted Marshmallows Latte this time and an Oat Milk Mocha - Both made to perfection 😋 They have different collections of t-shirts, sweatshirts and some local beauty products on display too, we couldn't check it out this time but hopefully we'll be back soon.Wish they were a bit closer to home though, we'd be regulars here for sure!

Before & After is such a wonderful and quaint coffee shop. My husband and I frequented this coffee shop while on our honeymoon at Skyland. The lattes were wonderful, especially the honeysuckle! We’ve tried their breakfast (highly recommend their quiche) and their sandwiches - all of which were fantastic. The employees are incredibly kind as well! If you’re anywhere near this area, we highly recommend this coffee shop!

Wonderful! Spectacular coffee (notes of chocolate and nut)! The breakfast croissant sandwich was delicious made with quality ingredients, yum. The people who work here are beyond friendly which was such an added bonus. Oh yeah, you’ll like the view!

It may look like your average neighborhood cafe, Before & After is anything but!I wandered in with my family one Saturday afternoon, and was greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of coffee. The walls are decorated with beautiful artwork from local artists.Since we were just driving through, we simply ordered coffee and cupcakes. The coffee was spot on but the cupcakes were a bit on the dry side.We enjoyed this little Cafe and we will be back to try the food and Espressos.

Bright and cheerful, full-body experience of food and drink with a side order of relaxation. Everything at Before & After that we tried was exceptional. The popular turkey and fig pannini was tasty and hot, and it was such a treat to have a real mocha that was made the right way and tasted like it's supposed to - very creamy. We didn't have time to enjoy the wine selection but it was a full selection of Virginia local wine that could please any wine personality. A Sperryville gem!

Charming little spot in lovely Sperryville. Their food is good quality and delicious. I had the turkey fig panini and my friend had the chicken pesto. We both really enjoyed our food, it was perfectly warm and the bread was soft but also crunchy from being toasted. I highly recommend this spot if you're in Sperryville! Also, it looked so yummy i forgot to take a photo before eating, so here is a photo of my half eaten panini. It came with chips and a pickle (so good!)

We came on the weekend from out of town and got the picnic box lunch with the taragon chicken sandwich, chips, pickle, and cookie. It was the chicken sandwich I've ever had! So much awesome flavor from the seasoning, sweet grapes, and juicy chicken.Also got a match's latte with oat milk and a chocolate croissant. Both were good.This place was a great stop on our weekend getaway and I highly recommend this spot.Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives and good menu variety for all diets.

Appreciate so much Kerry for all his hard work with this perfect spot in Sperryville. It was nice to have him do a cappuccino for me one day. Check out that attention to detail. You eat and drink with your eyes first.

Order online and pick up at the window - remember to ask for any sweetener/creamer/milk since there is nobody to be found at drink pick up or after. We wish we would have known this prior to placing our order - otherwise it’s a 5! Super cute place to hang out and drink your coffee.

Cute little coffee place in the beginning of Sperryville's historic district! We ordered online and picked up a couple of minutes later. Make sure you check out the back yard with the tables by the river!!

The Mocha and Latte we purchased were both piping hot and delicious. Simply put a well made coffee. We split a breakfast burrito, and it was tasty. Nothing special about it, but good food. If you are in the area the Before & After is definitely worth it. It’s also a good on, and off destination if you are hiking in Shenandoah. Easy access from Skyline. Be aware there is no LTE on the route. Thankfully Before & After does have Wi-Fi. I also loved their restroom sign.

So glad I decided to stop in here. This was easily the best London fog I've had in a cafe. Most cafes use a powder mix or don't steep the black tea long enough. Not a problem at before and after. All the pastries looked great but sadly I only got the tea. If you're coming down from hiking in shenandoah this is the place you want to stop in for your caffeine.
