We shop here on occasion and as far as Food Lions are concerned, this store is easily better than most I have shopped. It’s clean, it’s user friendly, the staff is always courteous and helpful… all positive attributes. They always have a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, and I’ve never seen an expired item on the shelf. The deli has a lot of delicious items, I only wish there was more to choose from but I wish that for every deli! :-)

Good food and prices but…the WiFi NEVER works. It connects but there’s no internet. Which is annoying because I get zero reception in the store. So looking up things for recipes is near impossible. Ridiculous for a chain grocery to have no WiFi.

Best deli service! They were super helpful and extremely welcoming. Fresh sliced black forest ham, honey baked turkey, cheddar and swiss cheese. I made a club sandwich with mine! So delicious.

Decent grocery store for the area, the only option. Use it for quick gets, typically not my full shopping for the week. Clean enough, convenient location.

Scottsville Food Lion does not practice pandemic mask wearing for all employees in order to do their part to protect customers. Distancing is a joke here. You're better off driving into Charlottesville where the Food Lion handles masks and distancing without such problems.

Better selection than the store closer to us and worth the drive out to Scottsville. The store is clean, bright, and well-stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bakery and deli isn't as good, but this store is far better for actual grocery shopping.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. As usual first carton of milk I picked up expired 6 days ago. Get to checkout on Friday evening and TWO registers open. One express and one full service. Ten people in line ahead of me with employee milling around talking. Just wait it gets better. I notice people in front of me getting to register and leaving. Why get mad at register after you waited 20 minutes and finally there??? Well when you waited in line and got to register you were informed it was cash only. People ask why didn't you make an announcement? And the reply was we have been. That system was not working either and they were not smart enough to figure it out!!! I said you you really think people would have waited 20 minutes in line if they knew it was cash only and they had no cash. She just shrugged. WORST MANAGED STORE IN THE US

The store is always clean and they offer a great variety of goods! I even love their order ahead and pick-up later service they have for customers. It's great for those busy days you do not have time to actually go in the store and shop. I love Food Lion‼

This is the nicest Food Lion I have ever been in. The store looks brand new and the food quality is fresh. The Meat Department manager is very nice and helpful. He helped me and my husband find a great deal on some organic ground beef!I very much appreciate the cleanliness and upkeep of this store. It makes me feel more comfortable and trusting buying food at this location.

Foodlion is a convenient place for alot of thing's from cat & dog food to Antifreeze & energy drinks. If you are looking for something in particular then just give them a call! Most of the people are friendly and go out of their way to make sure you get what you came for. 🙂

This is the most pitiful store I have seen anywhere. The shelves are poorly stocked. And one time I saw management and the produce stocker wiping mold off of the things in produce. The management is awful. They are more worried about smoking "cigarettes" and chasing the pretty girls around the store than anything. I saw one outside drinking a coors light. The cashiers do a great job for such poor management and no help. And watch out for the person who runs floor machine he will run you over. Very rude.

This is the only Food Lion I have to remind myself to check the dates on items. It seems like they literally try their best to get rid of the items that are out of date at full price instead of removing them from the shelves or marking them down BEFORE they get out of date. 3 times so far that I’ve come home with out of date food. It’s absolutely ridiculous!!

They always seem understocked. They never have what other food lions have. The deli staff is usually very friendly and helpful, however the young girl that works it sometimes completely ignores customers. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting for her to ask for our order, then left because it NEVER happened. Only good thing about this food lion is that is it close/convienent.

Clean store. It's very easy to find things here. You're not going to find any fancy food here, but this isn't a Wegmans. I shop in here knowing to expect just the basics and they do the basics well. Pricing is okay, it can be better, but that's put out by corporate and not by the store alone. The employees there have always been nice to me and my husband. I see that there are complaints about management, however we've never had to deal with the and my husband. It's just a great, well-placed grocery store to pick up any last minute items that you may have forgotten.

Some of the staff is friendly. Gave me the run-around on the price of cupcakes I ordered for my son's birthday and screwed up my order. Totally wrong on the type of icing. My son wouldn't eat them. Won't be ordering from the bakery again. I can't even eat the leftover cupcakes because I can't stand the icing.

The store is clean and mostly well stocked. Their employees, including management have always been nice and polite to me. I just wish there was a nicer selection of items and better constant prices.

Food Lion replaced a very run-down supermarket in Scottsville with a fresh, clean, well-organized store that is a pleasure to use. Especially the vegetables and fruits section is well-managed and inviting. It doesn't have every single thing I want, but it takes care of most of it, and is a great local choice. Thank you.

Staff are always friendly, selection is broad enough to meet my needs most of the time and the store is sanitary. The old IGA was so horrific that Food Lion would have to make an extraordinary effort to offend me in any way. My favorite thing about Food Lion: it doesn't smell bad inside.

Clean store normally well stocked unless the power goes out. Since the store isn't on a generator perishable goods get thrown out fairly often.

This place is owned by the same company that owns Giant up the hill. The lesser product is sold here, not necessarily cheaper. The better product is sold for more at Giant. There is no grocery inflation. It's corporate Greed operating with a monopoly.

I have no other choice but to shop here due to the convenience. I have no problem with customer service besides the long lines and wish your branch carried more Fermented Foods, Asian Spices, Organic choices, and a variety of Whole Bean Coffee. I recently had an experience with one of the workers who said they didn't exept EBT for purchasing Kombucha despite the label on the drink saying Nutrional( they made me feel insane despite the obvious label stating its NUTRIONAL.) They even went to the extent of trying to convince me that all other stores where ignorant and wrong for excepting EBT with the purchase of Kombucha( Its a NUTRIONAL drink). I keep mentioning Nutrional because if you actually followed EBT standard's I wouldnt be typing this redundant experience to begin with. I hope your store can fix that blitch in the system because all food/drink (All) listed as Nutrional is excepted by EBT. Your store is the only store in the area ( charlottsville, Dilwyn, Waynesboro, Palmyra) that I have had this issue with. Get your system corrected.

Very clean, neat store with friendly associates. I will admit though, that I do have trouble finding things in there. I don't feel like the aisles are marked as well as they could be at the ends to make things easier. Of course this is just my opinion.

Maybe cashiers shouldn’t get people out of line when no full service registers are open. Stood in line for 5 minutes and all 12 items lines open and when a full service one does old lady on register 1 tells me to get out of line cause she isn’t full service. 510pm on 9/21/2019. Ridiculous

I live in Dillwyn, and I would still rather go to this Food Lion than the Food Lion in actual Dillwyn. Not because this Food Lion is that awesome, because the one in Dillwyn is that bad. At least the employees in this store leave you alone and when I go shopping here I don't feel like I'm being scoped out.

For small town shopping there isn't much variety. Be careful of the produce and check carefully before hand. They have a very friendly staff and the shelves are seldom bare.
