Rude and disrespectful towards people, falsy accusing people saying that cats aren't theirs when the one was born in my home to my cat and the other was found outside months ago and has had vet care to get him stable, they're supposed to be a professional rescue but cussing at people and demanding people to meet at their home when it was stated no because people don't want strangers at their house plus the safety of everyone my dogs do not like strange new people, we told them we could meet on the 8th they demanded the 6th accusing that we was going to dump the cars at a shelter when that was not ever discussed. Please be aware

I guess they like animals, but they certainly don't like humans. My wife scheduled a time to visit with out children. Despite many calls, they never answered and never called back to provide their hours. The day came and she drove 45 minutes, only to find their gate closed. After many more calls they finally answered and said she had no appointment and she could not come in. I guess if you have an animal for them to care for maybe they are good, but do not expect you will actually be able to visit as they claim.

Sorry your wife did not have a good experience, Ben, but you are correct in reporting that the gates will be locked unless there is an official tour going on. Early on the gates used to always be open at Rikki's, but people would show up and dump animals out of their car, try to kidnap the animals who live at the sanctuary or just show up and wander around. Ultimately the sanctuary exists for the animals and they have to be kept safe. This is a private facility and does not have "open hours" like an shelter would have.Rikki's gets dozens of phone calls each day and they are routed and handled by volunteers - many of whom hold down regular jobs. Likewise, tours and private visits are handled by volunteers, so it is important that you have a confirmed appointment. When you are scheduled, the person who will be showing you around should also give you their contact information, so make sure they do. Anything can happen at an animal sanctuary and sometimes plans have to shift on a dime, so keep that in mind. Rikki's respects and values volunteers, donors and supporters and miscommunications are never intentional.

Wonderful friendly people!! Animals are so sweet and you can tell the animals are very spoiled and 😍 We love Rikki's Refuge and will continue to support them anyway we can!!

They got me through the come here and volunteer for a day and we may hire you add in the newspaper, volunteered along with others that day and while working their regular crew pulls me off to the side and tells me they haven't hired anyone here in over 5 years they do this every few months to get free work out of people telling them that if they like their volunteering service they will offer them a job, maybe they finally broke up that deceitful newspaper ad they ran through all those years
