The staff is always polite and helpful. I have two Heelers who can be reactive and need a little assistance getting in and out of the building safely and the staff is very helpful and respectful of them, myself, and other people and their pets. We are new to the area, and so happy to have found this veterinarian, Dr. O'Brien and staff. We took our little girl there because she was pretty sick and nothing we were doing was helping. Dr. O'Brien did some tests and diagnosed her and explained what was going on and what the next steps were. She was really amazing both with our little dog and us. We followed the instructions she gave us and on our return visit, our little fur baby was doing so much better. We continued the medicine and today our little one is running around, happy and healthy. Dr. O'Brien's knowledge and kindness was really outstanding. These folks are the best, we highly recommend them. They are our vet from now on.

They are awesome. They fit in my fur baby who sick with an UTI when they did not have an appointment available. They kept me up to date on everything they were doing to her. Even when I called to check on her they were very understanding and polite about the extra calls.

Took our dog in to have her checked out due to her having seizures and not being able to walk. They saw her in a timely manner and have an amazing staff! Very friendly and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. We will be taking her there from now on. Very caring staff and very affordable.

Took my dog they were real nice at first. Few months later my dog dies. The cremation with these people were horrible! And the place they do it at! Not only they are so rude over the phone. Just called about seeing my cat and just got a huge attitude. You will never be getting my service again! I tired too many times and have been let down!

Joanne is still a star. I'm so glad she had opportunity to come back to work for this vet. Going in this office is so relaxing compared to others I've been to and there isn't a lot of extras you have to deal with. I would definitely recommend Dr O'Brein, go on in or give them a call, you'll probably end up talking to her husband Mark who will take care of you.

Dr. Linda O'Brien and her team are the absolute best. We are a former military family, and have taken our cats and dogs to many vets over the years. Linda is wonderful. She's knowledgable, caring, and patient. We are almost always able to get our pup in to see her the same day that we call (or a day that we request in the future). He's aging and in quite a bit of pain at this point, and she is straightforward but kind and I never feel rushed. You become more than a customer at this clinic; you become part of the family. As an added bonus, the prices for every service we've used (exam, vaccines, xrays, blood work, boarding) are very competitive and reasonable. We are on a single income so this is important and an added benefit of a great vet that's close to us! I highly recommend Dr. Linda and her staff!

I had a young dog that developed an aggressive cancer. Linda O'Brien performed multiple surgeries to rid her of it but it eventually took her life. The people of this animal hospital were so responsive and caring during her ordeal which included several extended hospital stays. The vet was on vacation during one of my dog's episodes but was constantly checking on her and advising the emergency vet. They were extremely saddened when we had to have our little girl put down and used so much compassion in the process. I cannot say enough about this animal hospital and all the people that work there.

We have been going to Dr O'Brian since we .over to New Kent in the early 90's. She left for awhile, but when she came back we were so relived to have reasonable, compassionate vet care for our babies again. Chickahominy is a gem. The staff goes above and beyond.

What can I say, I've known Linda since the 90s...so glad she opened a new office. I know she loves her dogs like the rest of us and their welfare is top priority for her. We are very lucky to have a plethora of good vets in New Kent. Personalized care is the office goal. Can't beat that.

Transferred to Chickahominy Animal Hospital when we moved from Far West End to Quinton. Staff is very patient with our sometimes grumpy Golden. Thankfully, we have only had fairly routine visits but feel confident that more urgent matters would be handled with the same level of professionalism and compassion. On site Groomer is wonderful and reasonable as well.

After rescuing a dog from the local animal shelter, we needed to have her spayed. The shelter sponsored both the spay surgery and a thorough health checkup. Chickahominy Animal Hospital and Dr. O'Brien were chosen by the shelter for these services. We scheduled the checkup first and were treated well until they discovered that the shelter was covering the expenses. After that, we were unable to ask any more questions of the doctor. As a matter of fact, we never saw the doctor again. Even following the spay surgery a week later, she did not meet with us to discuss the surgery. During the surgery, an x-ray was apparently performed on our dog's leg, but we never received results from the doctor, a copy of the x-ray or the opportunity to ask questions about it. We even took our dog back again to have her incision evaluated and still never saw the doctor. This was the worst veterinarian experience that we have ever had. Clearly, who pays the bill is more important than customer service at this establishment.

We were told we had to pick up our dogs at 5pm exactly on Sunday. We rushed home from out of state to be back in time and no one had the decency to show up. My husband waited and waited, now I'm sure we will be charged an extra night due to their own staff's negligence. We will never, ever kennel our dogs here ever again. What a terrible experience.

my most recent trip was a very sad one, but everyone in the building gave me all the time i needed with my little one to say my goodbyes. They also sent a very sweet condolence card and called me as soon as my pets ashes arrived.
