I went in this afternoon for soda and snack cakes and a friend that was with me bought cigarettes. The store is quite nice and has all kinds of products at reasonable prices. The two ladies at the register were very nice and checked us out quickly. I will definitely shop here again when it's not necessary for me to go to Wally World.

I only give 3 stars due to the store layout! The registers are in the way of the medicine aisles! And other aisles are placed so your shopping can't flow smoothly! Other than the layout, the store is always clean and organized! Staff is friendly and helpful!

I've lived next to this dollar general for 3 years and from first hand experience I can tell you that if you are buying anything in the fridge, it's rotten. The trucks get unloaded into the aisles where they sit for weeks. Im talking about milk and other perishables just sitting out for days. I was desperate for some milk one day though for my toddlers and wanted to reach in to get one of the gallons of milk and I was told that I could not purchase the milk. I was rudely told by the employees that it wasn't their fault that I couldn't buy the milk..? Who else's fault is it? She followed me out to my car yelling at me about how she doesn't want me to come back! Like couldn't you have used the time you were following me to my car to just sell me the milk? There is one person that works there that is very pleasant but everyone else that works there is extremely lazy and rude. They act like their job is hard and they are overwhelmed. They act like ringing you up is a burden. A lady in a wheel chair was Infront of me in line and mentioned to the employee, very kindly, that she couldn't get through the aisles because of all the unloaded products in the aisles. The cashier said "that's not my fault." The disabled woman continued to tell them that it was a fire hazard and it was actually illegal. The cashier was clearly angry with this woman's legitimate safety concern. Every aisle is filled with palletized products. Who knows how long they've been sitting there because apparently it's not the employees job to stock shelves. Most of the employees don't even know how to run the register. The store is dirty and cluttered while the employees constantly smoke outside. Everything is cheaper at at every other local store too. The management of this dollar general is laughable and pitiful. They should change the sign to "that's not my fault" because that's their slogan.

I used to love this one stop shop until the recent remodel. Forget grabbing a cart and shopping there's no way you are getting past the large carts filled with boxes.Today shelves were empty so I had to seek and find a box with toilet paper. It's a shame this store is losing business due to lack of walking around to see what is being offered.

Good deals. Just wandered around while the wife looks for birthday card. I'm not much of a shopper but there's always stuff to be curious about. Takes the shopping ache away. Casual and comfortable is good.

I lot of people dog out Dollar General, but it is really good at what it is meant to be. A smaller store with a mix of discount and name brand items. The prices are good but not fantastic. You could get almost anything you need in there in 5 minutes or less. What more do you want?

Convenient, usually pleasent. Please tell your female employee to stop complaining to the customers. No one wants to hear how they can't restock because the manager is behind a computer all day and doesn't know whats going on, or the fact that they only eat once a day because they can't eat at work. I'm sorry they are unhappy at work but makes me not want to come in here. I really don't care what's going on behind the scenes. Please don't make my trip unpleasant and awkward because your not happy. If it's that bad find somewhere else to work. No one wants to hear it.

Fire the dude with the long nails and disgusting attitude. He picks and chose's who to treat well, I know his type, hire people who will treat everyone the same regardless of skin color. Its very sad to see him perform. The area is pretty weird to begin with, I wouldn't recommend coming over here too many weirdos.

I had to adjust to the new remodel BUT i like it a lot. The carts look newly painted. The aisles are labeled which is helpful. Check it out i think you'll like it to!!

Employees are very nice. Store itself is a hot mess! Never stocked. Boxes everywhere. Aisles are blocked. What is going on???

This is the worst dollar general. Seriously. You can’t get to any shelves and if you ask for help you’re bothering people. I literally smiled at an employee & she just stared at me. Then refused to sell me items on the floor. Against store policy. Ridiculous.

Growing up we had corner stores in my neigborhood. We could walk there and even though they were smaller than big grocery stores, they always seemed to have what you needed. Dollar General reminds me of those days. My family loves our Dollar General here in Mechanicsville.

They have really turned the store around recently. It is cleaner and more organized. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will keep going.

Would gave given 5stars but alot of empty shelves with merchandise ready to be put up. They have Help Wanted signs posted. Very friendly worker there.

I love this store. The staff is very helpful and friendly to me. I always get a smile and a hello. The staff helps me with coupons and locating items.

You cannot shop at this store at all.. carts and carts of items blocking the Isles, you cannot walk anywhere.. and horrible customer service.. we will not ever come back to this store ever.

I stopped at this location which is not my normal store. The store was a mess there was so much stock in boxes stacked everywhere it was hard to shop. I decided to leave and find another location.

I like dollar general and it is close to home. Why is there carts of merchandise blocking all the merchandise on the shelves? Somebody isn't managing this place to well.
