Cute restoration, I was lucky enough to see it back in February when they were still working on it. Glad to see someone taking care of it rather than it being a casualty of age like so many.In and out repeatedly since moving nearby, love the place and what they are doing.

This place is worth your stop right along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owners are a part of the family who started the store back in the 1800’s. It’s impressive to see the store well loved and taken care of.

The new owners daughter was there and she is so sweet. The place looks amazing, they've upgraded it a little but kept the original charm. We love this place.

While traveling around the region visiting Bob Childress churches, I was becoming increasingly hungrier. I did not realize that I would be wandering for so many hours and had not packed anything to eat. As I was driving toward a church in Meadows of Dan, all of the sudden a country store popped up, seemingly out of nowhere. When I stopped to look for a quick bite to ride me over, I met some friendly folks, heard a bit about the history of the old post office, and grabbed a big, dill pickle to ride me over. There were also some delicious looking hand pies that tempted me. This place has charm and a welcoming family running it. I would recommend a visit to anyone in the area.

If you want history this is the place to visit. Original mailboxes and the sweetest woman who has worked there for 58 years. If you are interested she informed us they have Brunswick Stew on Sunday's in October.

A neat stop on the BRP! We almost missed it. Make sure to give this a look, especially if you want a quick snack. They had a ton of the old Foxfire books, which are somewhat difficult to find. Bought a fairy stone. Also, check out the artist next door. He does wonderful oil paintings!

Restored old fashioned country store. Beautiful! Kitchy. Lots of neat products. Owner and daughter are awesome! Truly care about a very historic landmark in our area! They've done it justice!

If you take a trip to visit Andy Griffiths hometown in Mt Airy, NC take a 40 minute drive up to what was once Mayberry, VA. This structure was once the post office of Mayberry. It is very aged, but does have restrooms on the side of the building and serves as a nice general store. They have a surprising selection of books and some T-shirts.

Quaint old Trading Post that dates back a lot of years. Kind of dark inside, but crammed with tourist finds and memorabilia. I picked up a period t-shirt, a kitchen magnet for the fridge and some candy. A real find was the small artist's studio on the same grounds. We spent some time there admiring all the paintings and talking with the artist. That was the best part of the visit to Mayberry! This property is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Definitely worth the time to stop and rest on your journey through the Blue Ridge.

Old general store with a connection to The Andy Griffith Show. Andy's mom grew up in the area and it's likely where the name Mayberry came from.

Store building closed 9.30.2022 for remodeling. Will re-open April 2023. Building on grounds was selling preserves, apple & peach butter, books, etc. outside. Very sweet lady working there was informative and friendly. We will return for sure next April to see the restored version of this historic place.

Outstanding piece of living history! A real "Old Country Store" full of oddities and history of the area. My wife Valerie and I love going here. We always find something to buy. From arrowheads to vintage blue jeans, they have you covered! They have historical books on the area for sale here. We met one of the local authors, Aaron McAlexander. Very nice Gentleman, friendly and full of history. The Lady that runs the store is always glad to take time and explain how things used to be. My wife and I truly love this place. We've noticed that it is for sale. Hopefully it will stay open when it changes hands. Go by today and see this piece of living history before it's too late. We've never seen another place like it. If you want to experience the home town comforts and atmosphere of yesteryear, stop at Mayberry Trading Post in Meadows of the Dan, VA. Beautiful handcrafted items, snacks, a game of checkers or horseshoes, smiles and laughs from the new owners Pam and Misty. It's a must stop and shop!

Last fall my family and I took a picnic to this place. They have 2 picnic tables outside. And it was stuff I packed from home and frankly was the best and cheapest meal we ever had while on the parkway. The store is small but been there forever and is a tradition for us. Very sweet little woman runs it. They have clothes,magnets,crystal's,toys, and snacks. Definitely worth the stop.

This was an excellent little store! It was tucked away and off the beaten path, but an awesome stop nonetheless! They had some cute gifts and accessories, but some of it looked old and outdated which just added to the charm! They had some delicous canned foods (the salsa is awesome). Definitely a cool stop!

After reading reviews I realize you've closed for remodeling please update your Google listing we for visiting the area over Thanksgiving and drove in from Mount Airy hoping to do some shopping here just to find out it was closed for remodeling until April it looks like you're abandoned so please temporarily update your Google hours.. thank you

Visited here on sunday nov. 20 2022. Wbsite said it was open from 9:30-5:00. I got there about 1:30 pm...it was closed. I did get pics of outside but wasted about 2 hours and gas for pretty much nothing.Dont believe hours on websites.

We just loved the old trading-post store a lot of neat things to look at and buy , the artist shop next door has a lot of beautiful paintings . The artist operates the art store. We purchased a painting of a beautiful old tobacco barn .Spent about one and a half hours there looking and talking to the owners of the stores.
