Everything was fine at check-in. We had a very long drive that day and went to bed early. Around 10PM my wife and I were both awaken when someone unlocked our door and tried to walk in our room. The hotel staff gave someone else our room WHILE WE WERE STAYING THERE!20 minutes later the front desk employee (not the one who checked us in, but someone else) pounded on our door demanding to know who we were.The following morning I spoke to the front desk attendant to discuss the issue she was rude and obnoxious and tried to blame us for their mistake by saying: y'all were in the wrong room. You were supposed to be in room 311 and you stayed in 211. My response was that we were given keys to room 211 and that's where we were told to go. The front desk attendant who checked us in written 211on the card sleeve and handed it to me. That discrepancy is not our fault. The reply I received was yeah well that happens at least once a week here. He's been here 16 years and keeps screwing up.I let the hotel attendant know we didn't sleep very much because of the incident and the acted like she didn't care. This place gives the Hilton name a worse reputation than Paris' TV show from 20 years ago.Safety: The hotel staff's incompetence compromised my safety.

I stop by for a night here and there as an in-between rest up to and from where I am going. I like the location because of the different places to hike and sight see. Digital key acts up here and there so just be plan on going to the front desk for the physical key. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfy- ish.I guess my only complaint would be the big gaps in the doors. So much noise and light comes through...

Very nice hotel, the rooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly. Easy access back to I-81 North and South. Mrs. Peggy was very considerate when choosing a room for us. We had driven all night. We were placed on the 4th floor to help with any noise.There is also a good Mexican restaurant next door.Food & drinks: Next door is a medical restaurant! Very good food. A lot of different menu items

Update: I was charged for the room. Even though i was assured i would not be & we never even got a room. Now i have to fight to get my money back.If i could put 0 stars, i would. Checked in at 9:30 pm with my husband & son & went to our room & it was not cleaned yet. Went to the front desk & they gave us another room. We got to that room & it was not cleaned yet either. Went back to the front desk & the desk clerk went to find a clean room. He came back 5 minutes later & realized he had forgotten the key. After another 10 minutes he returned & said he has a room & he is upgrading us to 2 king room.My husband asked if there is any type of discount for the troubles. He gave us $10 off. As i walked away, i double-checked that there were 2 beds. He says well yes a king bed & he will bring up a cot. I said, "Wait, where is my son going to sleep?" "he said on a cot. My son is 15 & not the age or size of cot sleeping.After everything that happened & not even sure if he just tried to tidy up a room while we were waitingWe decided not to stay at the hotel.

It was clean and modern enough for a one night stop on our road trip but we got NO SLEEP because you could hear everything happening in adjacent rooms and the noise went on throughout the night. There was no way to turn the AC unit on so that it didn't kick on and off all night, which forced us to use an app on our phones for white noise to try and drown out the sound. So this place completely failed its intended purpose: giving weary travelers a good night's sleep before continuing on their journey.

This is the kind of hotel that reflects well on being a Hilton honours member!Friendly staff. Fast service. Greeted evening and morning in such a professional and friendly manner. Dig key wasn’t working but didn’t mind using old school;). Hot plentiful breakfast. We travel this north south route a lot and will stay here again! The bed was so comfy but ya the shower could use a little bleach on the caulking.

I have always stayed at Hampton Inns on our travels. This one was dirty the ceiling was stained. We were traveling from NY home to FL on I81 we stopped no reservation just when we were getting tired rented 2 rooms November 20th and the next morning we were on the road and stayed at a hampton inn in Calera AL Nov 21st. Imagine my surprise when we were charged for 2 rooms and a 3rd amount. Spoke to Brook the manager and she told me it was for a canceled room but wasn't billed.My question was why would i book a room for the next night when we were headed home and stayed at another hampton on I65. Long story short I was billed and charged an additional 127.00 for a screw up by the desk clerk that neither Brook nor the customer service rep would rectify. This location is ripping off their customers. We should have continued on to Bristol where we usually stay. WARNING to anyone traveling I81 don't stop at this location fort chiswell.

Nice room for our family and friendly people as soon as we walked in the front door. We enjoyed the breakfast before leaving to finish our road trip. The room was a double queen room that had plenty of space to unpack and get comfortable for our one night stay. It's nice that there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Have stayed here before and will probably stay here again.

Had to get off the interstate to rest and I was impressed by this hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Just what the doctor ordered, a hot shower and a goods night sleep!Rooms: Clean and modern

Stayed here overnight on my way up to Pennsylvania and had a great experience. Nice comfortable in a pretty small town location just off the Interstate. Super comfortable room, very quiet, well stocked food and snack options in the lobby, and a very nice fitness room. Also the breakfast Sunday morning was super with great food and the woman who ran the breakfast was so kind! I definitely will keep this location in mind for further overnight stays!

Hampton Inn is a brand I trust, and the one in Ft. Chiswell, VA, did not disappoint. From check in to check out impeccable service, clean and comfortable, easy on and off from the highway.My only criticisms - 1) the towel I grabbed for after my shower had seen better days - edges were worn and frayed, and 2) breakfast was not appetizing - eggs, sausage and potatoes looked greasy, no variety in bread or fruit. I wanted to grab something to go, but I opted to eat elsewhere.

Booked a one night stay on September 1st. Shortly after getting in our room we noticed bedbugs. We immediately went down to the front desk and advised the front desk clerk. She was very accommodating and helped us find another hotel for the night. She printed out a receipt issuing a refund. Fourteen days later and no refund. Reached out to corporate and they basically said it was not their problem and to deal with the hotel directly. Called the hotel twice put on hold and no one ever came back to the phone. Sent several emails, no response. We are frequent travelers and diamond members and only stay at Hampton Inns.Management at this hotel non responsive and highly disappointing!To the hotel, if you are reading this review the reservation was under Marie Boccio Thielman, the promised refund would be appreciated!

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Worst Hampton ever. The only positive thing I can say is that the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were renovated and staff were friendly. The rooms are not clean, certainly not what I expected. Pillows stained, sheets very thin and zero amenities. Crumbs inside the drawers. Noisy a/c. Nothing in the bathroom, other than two bars of soap, a shower cap and towels for two. No shampoo, body wash, conditioner, nothing. Pool was gross and had been out of service for a while. Breakfast was equally gross. Poor selection of food and choices. In fact, so bad that I brought my own breakfast crackers the second day and just drank coffee. Next time, I will go to Wytheville. Better choice of motels and food. No food worth eating in Fort Chiswell. Do yourself a favor and pass through this place.

Upon arrival we discovered only a partial roll of toilet paper, one set of towels for two people and crumbs all over the bench seat and floor.The hotel was completely booked and a room change was not possible.As far as service, it was more self-service. We went to the front desk to request the towels and toilet paper which they then provided.Hilton properties have a high standard and this one missed the mark. The front desk said they would leave my contact info for the GM to call. Unfortunately the call never came.Rooms: The room was okay, however, Housekeeping missed a number of opportunities for success.

The one guy there took care of everything I asked of the hotel. He was great. Good stopping place with not a lot of traffic. Just your basic Hampton but that’s what we wanted. Clean. I feel like it’s a decent value in todays state of inflation. Would stay there again without hesitation.Rooms: Curtains were stained and drapes looked old but as with most Hampton Inns, it was clean. Bathroom looked updated and bed was comfortable. A comfy bed is a top priority.Safety: Didn’t see anything that bothered me. Kind of up there on the hill with just the guests.Food & drinks: Food was good, not great, but that’s more on the hotel than the staff. Beacon was really thin. One waffle iron didn’t work quite right but it did work. No other meat offered. Oatmeal was really good. Fruit was good but limited choices. For a “free” breakfast, I’m sure you could do much worse.Noteworthy details: Rated 4/5 because no towels or cleaning supplies in fitness room and the breakfast food choices were limited. Towels were available at the front desk easily enough. Breakfast was ok for what it is supposed to be, I guess. The staff there seemed to be taking care of everything the guests asked of them. Not really knocking the breakfast but maybe more the food offering. One waffle iron didn’t work quite right so that didn’t help. Decent place and good value.

I would have given this place 4 stars. However, the outdoor pool was out of service and had green water in it, and it was not mentioned in the advertising or at the front desk when we check in. Although this Hampton is newer, I would have preferred to stay in the Hampton at Wytheville it has an indoor pool and hot tub. And was very nice even though an older facility. I stay at Hampton's often and this facility was very nice, very clean. Nice rooms.... very disappointed in the pool, though and lack of hot tub... my recommendation is to stay at the Hampton in Wytheville.Rooms: Clean and updated

Not a good place if you value cleanliness and sleep. Beds were not the worst, but the air conditioning would not stay on so spent the night fluctuating between hot and cold. The refrigerator condenser sounded like a fog horn every time it ran. The lamp shades and furniture need an upgrade, and someone should dust or vacuum next to the fridge. This was not up to Hampton Inn / Hilton standards and should be addressed.
