I moved down to Raleigh, NC, 3 years ago and I really miss this place. At that time, Pam (ran the hot food section in the store's rear area) had already departed for her new life in the Pacific northwest, but her legacy was upheld by the great staff who succeeded her. I lived in Haymarket and would often make the drive to Glascock's for the great chicken, steak and cheese, and other delectable offerings. I'm a senior citizen, but Ryan at the register would always smilingly ask of me, "How are we doing today young man"? How refreshing! If he is still there, he may remember me - I once excitedly told he and Joe about this beautiful hawk that seemed to make the space in back of the store its own preserve. Miss the place a lot - but NC does not take $500 a month out of my military pension as the exalted state of Virginia did. Hence, my departure. Cheers and bless all at Glascock.

Just a charming store. And the food at Pam’s in the back is EXCELLENT! Friendly staff! Fantastic fried chicken. Today they had fresh fried catfish. My son and I have stopped by both times we were riding 🏍 in that area!

This was an absolute phenomenon of a store, the nice staff, and the kind cashiers really depicted how I viewed Nick's Market. The amazing staff and how they always have a good firewood supply really shocked me. If your out of food, and you want a quick lunch, the deli is there for you. They have, and I'm not joking, the best potato wedges your mouth will taste. The chicken aroma smells absolutely amazing, and I when I went there, the chicken doesn't dissapoint.

In here, you're family. Joe and Ryan are awesome. They greet everyone who walks in and most by name. The food is great, fantastic breakfast sandwiches, lotto, beer, cash checking service, fresh vegetables, etc. It's a full service store with a huge dose of friendly. If you like cold, big chain package stores - pass this one by.

Unbelievable home cooked food. No atmosphere and only an old chair and counter to eat at if you have to have it right away. But the quality, taste and prices make it a real winner! Sometimes I'll drive a half an hour just to get some fried chicken and potato wedges. Can't be beat!And they have a market for the things you need tonight.

No place like it anymore ! Homemade food and family owned. I am always pleasantly greeted when entering the store & and they make a point to remember the items you frequently purchase and have them ready for you. You can keep your nasty microwave food from Wawa and Sheets...I will be stopping at Nick's and picking up a half rack of ribs, cole slaw and corn bread for the same price as your watery sheetz steak and cheese sub.

2 words, fried chicken. The hot food counter is really good. The fries, chicken, devil eggs is delicious. Rest of the store is standard bodega, but they have a lot more stuff in there than you would think. Ask and they probably have it. Unlike the other reviewer, I think they are funny.

Awesome eating option for going to/fro DC/Shenandoah. I think they run the smoker daily and all the meat options from the deli were delicious (e.g., fried chicken, pulled pork, ribs). Also plenty of space at the picnic tables outside as well!

Glascock is an awesome grocery store they have just about everything, the cashier's are all very welcoming and friendly they make you feel like a VIP the Deli is super good, the Chef Chito goes the xtra mile on everything he does, nothing but love for Glascock and their employees. ✌

My buddy found this place by chance but I sure didn't. Been coming here since that fateful day. Sometimes I make excuses to go ride bike out in front Royal just to go here. Delicious!!! And just like everyone stated in their review, staff is super nice.

Glascock's is locally known as Nick's. It's a truly unique place and you either love it or you don't. We love it. Nick's is sort of a general store complete with wooden floors. You can get wonderful hot food to take out from Pam's kitchen located in the back. I mean real food like mashed potatoes, green beans and bar b que freshly made in a huge cooker outside. Or you can pick up wine or bread or chips or fatwood for starting your fireplace or whatever. In season there is a wide array of vegetable plants or flowers or shrubs for your garden. The staff are friendly and get you out fast. Cool place!
