I found Goochland Animal Clinic to be amazing!!!! I have two juvenile kittens one which unfortunately fell off a handle rail in my loft. He was certainly frightened and hurting. Brought him into the clinic wasn't able to meet with the Vet directly but she was very kind and thorough answered every question I had regarding my kittens' injuries. I would personally request her again. . . and trust her completely. The staff was sweet and very engaging, comforting, and gentle with my kitten all this added to my confidence in the Clinic. Posey is doing well I'm so truly thankful the care given to him and myself.Christine

I have been taking my pets and foster animals here for a few years now and they have always taken exemplary care of everyone. They go beyond basic veterinary care! They also do orthopedic care, and have seen all of my pets. Other vets in the area had refused to do a dental on one of my senior dogs because she had a heart murmur, but the doctors here offered to do an ECG (I think?) and some blood work and cleared her for anesthesia. It went wonderfully with no complications. Their pricing is fair for the service, as well, and seem in line with other local vets. The front desk staff is friendly and personable, and are great advocates for their clients. I appreciate these folks and wholeheartedly recommend them.

Unfortunately, service continues to decline. Long wait times on the phone for a simple answer, and wait times while sitting in a confined space with high traffic of other animals is absurd. 45 minutes is unreasonable to wait and sit around with a dog. I walked out and of course, the vet or owner never called to follow up.I can't recommend any longer.

1st time, and LAST appointment! super nice, helpful and friendly folks upfront and assistants. When I called I was advised the Dr did not see owners, so I specifically asked not to see that Dr and I was told I would have a vet that would see me. Not sure what the heck happend, but we never saw the vet..took one of pups back for her shots, which I was not happy with that they could not do that there, waited over an hour in a room with no idea what was taking so long..we walked the heck out and will never go back!! Worse experience in my 40 years of having fur babies!

Phenomenal service! They have been able to quickly detect ailments in our senior cats. We always can clearly understand their diagnosis and treatment options. Very reasonable prices all around. Receiving estimates have always been on point and often pay less than expected. The ladies at the front desk are very sweet, polite, and are hardworking. I have nothing but high praises for the staff! Your pets will be well cared for here.

We've been taking our animals to the Goochland Animal clinic for almost 20 years and have never had any problems. They've always been wonderful with us and with our pets particularly. we've had to have several animals put down there over the years, and they are compassionate and kind through the process. We highly recommend them!

The absolute worse experience I have ever had with a vet. I have had pets for 50 + years. My dog was a patient at this practice for four years. I took her in because she was experiencing breathing problems periodically, she was 15 years old, I actually videoed her problem since she never did it on a regular basis so they could see what she was doing, but as soon as we arrived she immediately started the symptoms due to distress being at the Vets office.They took her in immediately and put her on oxygen. Dr.Leopold came out to the waiting room and informed me in front of other patients waiting that" my dog was tying to die". And that that no dog should have these symptoms no matter what was being to done them. Then I was told to wait while they did an ex ray. Then they informed me my sweet Sugar had cancer, and that I needed to immediately have her euthanized. Or she would suffocate. I refused and took her home. She lived another two weeks just fine, with pain meds that I had to call back and request. I had Journey's End come out at our final time of need to have her peacefully sent to the other side, in our home with our family surrounding her. And on a final note, they said they could send one of their vets out do to our house to do this, but the morning she was in distress, I called them first and they said, they were completely booked that day with appointments and surgery and could not help us. I end withthis- paid these people over $8,000 over four years to treat our beloved pet, to have this kind of service and response in the end. Do not go to these people. They do not care for you or your pets.

This is, hands down, the best veterinarian office I have ever taken my fur baby to. They went above and beyond for my Zoe ( i can gaurentee no other office would have done what these people did for her). No one was willing to see her the day of, and if i couldnt take her somewhere that day, she would not have made it. It was meant for us to find these group of amazing people! The owner, the vets, the staff, everyone is just absolutely amazing and work miracles there. ❤️ Thanks to this clinic, my family remains complete.

Goochland Animal Clinic has helped up with taking care of our cats, especially the elderly ones. They are very helpful in the office, their feline greeters are much appreciated, and they are very clear with billing. As for the veterinary care, I cannot stress how much they care enough. The veterinarians definitely take the time with the animals to understand their whole health, and found an underlying condition that we had missed before with our cat.There's closer vets to us, but they're worth driving to!

No compassion what so ever , they need training at the very least. I do not recommend this place for any of your beloved pets. It's pretty sad and sickening to see that this place just wants your money, they don't care about your animal / family member enough to show any sort of compassion. This place made mistakes left and right from the day we put my sweet baby down to the day we FINALLY got her remains back. They will not own up to their faults what so ever but will continue to makes excuses for their incompetency. It's disgusting the say the least. And for the owner not to ATTEMPT to make anything right and hide behind their employees is disgraceful. Needless to say this place has been reported to the board in hopes that this situation doesn't happen to another family.

Didn't Like the way I guess may be the office manager talked to her help.Not being able to be with my animal during visit was uncomfortable. No one wore mask that I noticed.No need to not allow owner with animal during visit.Then doc called you in parking lot and wanted to know what the visit was for.After all care was Good.But will not visit again.

I've been going to Goochland Animal Clinic since I moved here in 2014. They are excellent! I haven't had great luck since coming to Goochland as I've had to euthanize 3 dogs, and 1 cat. That's an average of 1 pet, a year. Even in such tough and unhappy situations, their Veterinarian was excellent and caring. She ensured that none of my babies had to suffer from anything and I'm grateful for that.

Came home to a very sad / sickly family pet, immediately loaded him in the car and went directly to Goochland Animal Clinic, unannounced. Without hesitation, they made room for him. Within a few hours they had checked him over, came up with a diagnosis, had medications ready, and a treatment plan.When I asked about having prescriptions sent to a local pharmacy, they were more than willing, but I found the clinic's prices were better than I could get elsewhere.All be told, I feel they truly cared for our pet (70+lb 13 year old pup), took a real interest in informing me of what was going on, our options, the money aspect, and understood our perspective completely.This is the 2nd time we have used this clinic for emergency (normal business hours) visits, and we received the same level of care for both visits.Kind to us, kind go our pets, flexible on treatments, just outstanding service.Wish people doc's all were like this clinic is!10 stars.

Sadly I lost my 15 year old cat last week. The entire staff was so gentle with us and our son. They let us say our peace, listened to our story, guided us in this difficult decision and never once made is feel judged or rushed. Teri the tech even sat on the floor with my cat and me while we waited for him to calm down. She was so soothing for me and my cat. The entire staff stayed late accommodate my baby’s last moments and I will never forget their kindness and professionalism in what was honestly one of my saddest days. I’m so glad we found them when we moved here.

This place has been amazing. All the staff are friendly and the vet is great. They work with you on treatment options so you get whats best for your animal. Note that they do not except Care credit. However they do have the best prices around.

I’ve been going to the vet for 20 years or more. I’m not sure if they changed ownership or what happened but since the pandemic they can’t be bothered with the inconvenience of seeing my pets when they’re in need. It’s a chore to try and schedule an appointment for routine stuff but they won’t refill my pet’s prescriptions without an appointment. They’ve turned me away when I was not sure what was wrong with a rescue dog. This is not the same group who cared about animals before and they need to bring back the all the caring vets who used to be there prior to Covid.
