My wife and I were in need for a vacuum for our first house together. I had always gone to big department stores to purchase whatever brand was on sale - even though I have gone through too many vacuums to count. She recommend us to check out House of Vacuums to see what they offered and my mind became wide opened with regards to the world of vacuums. The owner Matt was extremely knowledgeable and spent over an hour educating us (mostly me) on the various vacuums at the shop and we ended up purchasing a Sebo vacuum and we can't be more excited about it. If you are looking for a store with an amazing, caring and knowledgeable owner who will help understand your needs and will give you the information needed to help you make the best decision for your vacuum needs, this is the place. I'll never look at the cheap vacuums on sale at the big stores the same way again. Thank you Matt and House of Vacuums. And side note - love the anti-microbial microfiber cloth. We will be back for more.

After purchasing a supposedly “animal” of a vacuum from an electronics store I was surprised at the low quality and lack of user friendliness. I have always had Kirby and Simplicity vacuums but decided to give this one a chance. After I made one swipe across the floor I boxed that thing up and returned it. I decided that I would just wait and save up to get another Simplicity. I googled vacuum shops and found HOV and went in to get a price and left with a new Ricar that I absolutely love!! It was actually $1 less than the one I returned. Point is.. go to this family business and get a vacuum that will last for years and stop wasting time and $ on basically disposable ones. Awesome selection, knowledgeable and kind staff, and competitive pricing. I’m a customer for life. :-)

This shop is under new ownership, so definitely check here if you're looking for a vacuum! They have better ones than are typically available at big box stores, and it's locally owned. 👏Old review:Only buy vacuum bags here if you're pressed for time, because I could have bought the brand-name Miele ones (not generic) that I needed for $6 less on Amazon, free shipping and everything, I would have just needed to be patient for a week while it shipped.

House of Vacuums is the only place I will go for my vacuum needs now! I was brand new to what they had to offer and Matt, the owner, was so helpful in educating me and answering all of my questions. He let me test things out and went into detail showing me how things worked and comparing different items to find the best fit for us. Their store was also kid friendly, which is a huge bonus for people like us with toddlers. When I received my vacuum, they put it all together for me so it was ready to use upon pick up. The SEBO vacuum we bought has far exceeded my expectations! It’s actually a pleasure to vacuum now and the performance is incredible. I highly recommend this store to anyone tired of their cheap vacuums breaking, seeking patient and excellent customer service and great prices. Thanks House of Vacuums!

I was in the market for a good vacuum that would stand up to the amount of fur that is produced in our house. I only knew about the brands in stores like target, but I have gone through three vacuums in four years going that route. The house of Vacuums helped guide me towards the vacuum that would best suite our needs and boy did they not disappoint. Matt is super knowledgeable about vacuums and did not pressure a sale at all. I would highly recommend the House of Vacuums to anyone!

I've been researching a new vacuum for quite a while and thanks to the wonderful YouTube videos HOV has I was able to make my decision. My local retailer doesn't sell the canister I wanted so I reached out and placed an order with HOV. It was a seamless process and my beautiful Sebo E3 arrived in perfect shape. Thanks again!

Excellent products and customer service. On a busy Saturday, Rex was able to juggle multiple service requests and vacuum drop offs, and still provided my family and I with superior customer service. He guided us based on our needs and budget, answered every question, and was a joy to work with from beginning to end. The vacuum we purchased is the best I’ve ever used! I’m giddy over the cleanliness of our home. Thank you HoV!!! (Families with young kids: there is a small play area right in the shop so shopping with littles is so much easier! Our three year old had a blast playing with the toy vacuums and other toys while we made our decision!)

I live in Roanoke, about 50 miles away from House of Vacuums and have a Sebo vacuum that is almost 10 years old. I took the vacuum to another vacuum repair shop and the estimate was $600.00 to fix it. The shop told me that the vacuum needed a new motor and circuit board. I called Rex at House of Vacuums. He took the time and explained that it would be rare for a Sebo vacuum to need a new motor and board, and even if it did, his estimate for a new motor and board was less than half of the estimate at the other shop.A few days later, I took the vacuum to Rex, he diagnosed and fixed the problem (nothing to do with the motor or board), he even replaced some aging parts that could cause problems later. The entire repair was done for less than 1/4 of the estimate at the other shop. The vacuum is running like new. Rex had estimated that it would take about two weeks to repair the vacuum but I got the vacuum back in less than a week. If I need anything in the future concerning a vacuum I will go to House of Vacuums. I will also recommend House of Vacuums to family and friends. I could not be more impressed with a business. I bought a Miele C1 classic a couple days ago to replace my Dyson Animal. The difference is astounding. I don’t think my carpets have been this clean since they were new.The prices are reasonable. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. And the owners are incredible people. Do yourself a favor. Skip the big box stores and go to a local shop that will set you up with a way better vacuum.

I had been shopping for vacuums for awhile after an old Sanitaire stopped working. I went searching for a new one and originally thought I'd get a Dyson, but quickly my research changed my mind as I learned about some of the limitations of bagless vacuums and Dyson vacuums in particular. I ended up looking at Miele, Sebo, and Riccar and settled on Riccar after watching a few demos and trying the Miele upright in person. I reached out to Matt after watching one of his Riccar videos on YouTube. I asked for his help deciding between the R25, R30, and R40. I was originally leaning toward the R30 and had asked a local vacuum store to order it for me. After waiting over a month due to supply chain issues I considered moving forward with a purchase from Matt. He only had an R40 in stock and after a long conversation (40 min) about the pros and cons of it and reaching out to the local store that had ordered the R30 for me to make sure they wouldn't be stuck with it if I bought a vacuum from Matt, I bit the bullet and ordered the R40. Matt quickly sent over an invoice and within a week I had the vacuum in California. Though it is pretty heavy duty (and heavy) it really does clean exceptionally and I'm quite happy with it. If I need to buy another vacuum, I will definitely reach out to him. Matt is incredibly knowledgeable and really a joy to work with. If you need a vacuum--even across the country--I highly recommend buying it from him!

I have purchased two vacuums, in the last year, from this store. Both experiences were top notch. The owner is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Their products are the best quality. I am so glad that Lynchburg has a store like this; they make it fun to clean your house. The internet and big box stores cannot provide the service and product expertise that this store delivers.

I had tried various vacuums, including variations of the shark, dysons, and a Miele U1in the past and I was unsatisfied. After doing some research on my own I was convinced I wanted a canister vacuum and I was considering a Miele c3 cat and dog or a c3 brilliant so I went online to eBay. I found Matt and House of Vacuums by making a low offer on a vacuum. He responded very courteously with his lowest price on it and we got to chatting. It was a Saturday night and he responded quickly. We went back and forth discussing my vacuum needs and price concerns.Matt suggested that I research the Sebo e3 as he thought it’d be the best choice for me. I hadn’t heard of Sebo but I researched it and found it had a cult like following on reddit and I read a bunch of user reviews and decided it was worth a try. Matt quoted me a price and helped me decide if I needed any additional attachments. I compared his price to other prices online and his was still the best.It’s been over a month, maybe two, since I got my vacuum and I have to say it’s the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I have 3 cats and a 200lbs English mastiff in a large multilevel house and the Sebo E3 does everything I need it to and is more convenient than any other vacuum I’ve used.I would recommend House of Vacuums and Matt to anyone who is looking to buy a quality vacuum at a good price and may need a little advice to help pick the right one. In addition, they give guidance based on customer's need and budget- providing the best options based on the answers you give to intentional questions they ask. This family owned business bends over backwards to give the best service and information about vacuums and other cleaning products that protect you from allergens, pathogens , and chemicals. I love my Miele & Hizero vacuums that I got from them. Cleaning with only water and their silver infused cleaning clothes has made cleaning soooo much easier and safer without harsh chemicals!! High end vacuums right there, all on display… tried them out, operated and adjusted and compared their features and capabilities, learned which one worked best for me, and had it at my house vacuuming, all in under an hour.
