If you don't get there well before end of work day, picking is slim. Especially with the meats. Seems produce is old as it turns bad a few days after purchasing. We Don't have a choice as we live in BFE.

Store has done a complete turnaround in the last few months. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the newer front end staffing is tons better than before!Store is decent but any female cashier under 50 is rude and acts like they are annoyed that you’re there. A little civility goes a long way if you in customer service. Only going to stop her if i have no choice or if i get the urge to either be ignored and not spoken to or be snapped at by an uppity cashier that wants me and the entire county to know that she’s “closed”

Can't say alot about produce. I see some of the prices have dropped. I don't care much for the steaks.However,in the later month or so the store in Lovingston Va has improved greatly. The shelves are always stocked, the workers are busy and customer service is wonderful. I am impressed!!!!

Though store is designed for local traffic, I needed a few things, parked big rig at bottom and the store was nice n clean restroom was as well!! Employees nice, hard working, busy!! Cashier at tobacco stand was not!! Asked for can of wintergreen pouches and almost got my head cut off!!

Our local Food Lion has as much appeal as going to a gas station. They really need to update or move to a larger location. It's near me but just awful. Willing to drive 10 miles away to find a real supermarket.

The staff is wonderful and they have expanded their offerings, but they are frequently short-staffed at peak periods. In addition, their produce is often overripe and spoils quickly. With no real butcher, bakery, or other similar offerings, I will frequently wait to drive the 30 minutes to a full-service grocery where "rural" mark-ups are not in place and more conveniences are offered, including fuel points that more than offset the drive.

The employees here were all super nice and helpful! There was hand sanitizer everywhere for customers to use, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked as well. I passed an employee cleaning the glass from the frozen food section early this morning. You can tell the staff and management care about the look of the place.

3 Months ago.. They only get one star from me. Everything that I buy there, they're always out of everything that I need. Well Here we are January 28th 2022 As yesterday I went grocery shopping for me and my children and I had a cashier that was on number two I told her that I wasn't feeling well as I have3 Slipped disc's and the big jugs if you can scan them and all she could do is put her hand on her hip and roll her eyes four times to me with attitude LIKE CRAZY ‼️ As I kept being respectful and calling her ma'am But the next time she does this to me, and have an attitude again there will be some issues! LIKE GIRL GROW UP N GET A JOB YOU LIKE‼️

Half the time they don't have what I want. Unfortunately that's why I'll drive to Amherst or into Madison Heights. So need to get someone in there that can rattle some cages for their stock. Shelves remind me of when we locked down.

The store is nice in terms of organization yet a few cashiers will try to start conversations with everyone holding up the lines at checkout. Some of the cashiers are nice and others not so much. Prices here are about the same as the others of this chain in Amherst and Charlottesville.

This Food Lion is clean, well lit and typically stocked well. I gave 4 stars because they need more lines visibly open. There were cashiers working but they did not have lights on which was causing a long line to stack up in the aisles.

Friendly staff with a smile, very helpful and well staffed from what i saw even close to closing time on a friday night. No one attempted to rush me. I don't do "rush" but, that late at night i do like go get in and get out quickly. No problem there. Clean store.

Shelves are never stocked, seems can't get items from their warehouse. Makes no sense to me because other grocery chains can get items in. Specifically Figi bottled water, sweet Asian chili sauce, rice vinegar etc.

I have always liked this store previously until today. When I parked there was a small swarm of bees on one of the carts. I put out the word to bee keeping friends and one was going to come scoop them up. As a responsible human being I thought I should let the store manager know. I told the assistant manager that someone was coming and asked them not to spray the bees. THEY SPRAYED THEM before she could get there. I expect they're excuse will be that the bees are a liability. They will be sorry when there are no bees to pollinate the flowers that make the food they sell.

Extremely nice staff; very helpful. Very clean store, but like all Food Lions I have shopped in, the produce is lacking variety. This has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ASSOCIATES; it lies w/ upper management in what they allow to be purchased.

All prices have risen since remodel and the employees can not even get a good paycheck. The store is no good the employees don't even care about the customers neither does the compay care about the associates. The company is beyond hopeless. You are better off shopping at kroger.

They've remodeled. Much more vegan/vegetarian foods. Only thing I don't like is that near all produce is prepackaged in environmentally insane plastic, not free. Many of us don't like to purchase all that plastic & want to select our own individual fruits and veggies. Best place for that is still the small IGA in Nelly's Ford & as tiny as they are, they also have much more organic produce.

I have definitely noticed the rising cost of groceries, particularly meat. In my 67 years, I have Never paid $6 bucks for one pound of hamburger. Otherwise, it was just ok.

Probably the nicest Food Lion I've ever visited. Clean, well stocked with really helpful staff. It's been awhile since I've been to one and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent shopping experience.
