I have been using Paws and Claws for a long time and will likely remain a customer for life.The prices are more than reasonable. The building is always clean and bright and Richard is always thoroughly professional and efficient.Richard has groomed my dogs for a long time and has always been prompt, courteous and highly professional.Richard has groomed everything from my unruly 220lb+ Saint Bernard to my rambunctious Beagle and never had a problem. He’s very good with my dogs; treating them gently and safely.

We have two wonderful little girls, the first being Buffy, which is part poodle, and Anna a German Shepherd. Both dogs have little issues and have to be treated a special way. I was surprised the first time I ever took them to Richard, because he seems to notice these things. He also knows how to win the dogs over, now every time we go there they’re running up the stairs dragging me behind. I have been using Richard now for four years and I don’t know how many hundreds of appointments we’ve had but he’s always on time, he has never canceled on us and is always willing to take them in emergencies. We’ve had issues come up where we immediately had to go the hospital and I had no time to find anyone else. Well, Richard has always been there for us! I wouldn’t even dream of going to anywhere else for grooming or boarding.

Richard has always been polite, professional, and he tells me exactly how he will cut or trim my dog. I have tried other groomers in the area but Richard does the best job on my Springer Spaniel (who is not an easy dog to groom). He has been grooming my Springer since she was a small pup and she is now 10 years old! I would not think of anyone else to continue with her. Richard is the best!

We have been going to Paws and Claws for about 2 years and have had a terrific experience. We are able to get our cocker spaniel in within about a week of calling for an appointment and she looks outstanding when Richard trims her. Daisy LOVES her “spa day” at Paws and Claws!

My Shitzu Pomeranian mix dog has been getting her nails cut by Richard for about 14 years. She is the only dog I have owned that wouldn’t let me cut her nails. Richard gets the job done quickly and professionally. I take her there every 5 or 6 weeks. It’s always clean. I also board my dogs there and they have been well taken care of.

I have been taking my 2 Golden’s and 1 large mutt to Richard for more then 10 years. He is the best in the area. My golden’s are 12 years old and arthritic. Richard makes sure they never stand for too long while being groomed. Richard loves animals and loves what he does and it shows.

Listen guys the lady I spoke to was very professional and sweet as well she stayed in touch with me and discussed everything with me. She's one of the few who have actually kept in touch with me during appts. But I got sick and wasn't able to take my fur baby to her and she was so sweet about it but I do indeed like her and I will make another appointment with her as soon as I'm better. Give them a call for your fur babies needs and I'm sure you'll be treated the same way as I was.

My standard poodle has always had female groomers so I wasn’t sure how he would do with a male groomer, I am happy to say he took to Richard very quick. He was one happy dog when we returned home and wanted to play all day. Richard did an excellent job on his cut and best of all no cut quicks on his toenails. We will definitely go back to Richard.

Worse groomer experience ever. How in the world do I make the appointment a week ahead of time and the day of the appointment I call because it was at 9:00 and he wouldn't answer his door. He states that my appointment was changed but I had never called and changed anything. So I asked him if anyone can just call and change someone's appointment. He's gonna say I guess so with a sarcastic tone.then have a nerve to state that we need to get our appointment straight. When he was the one to make the mistake and can not own up to it because as he said he had a long week and was o so tired. Way to unprofessional for me. I try to put money back In our little community but I will not be doing business with him. If I could give a zero I would.

Richard has clipped my golden several times. He helps me get him in and out of the car and does a wonderful job. He is quick to schedule an appointment so there is not a 3 or 4 week wait. I definitely recommend him.

We had been recommended to this place by a family member who lives in town and since we were spending Christmas near Kilmarnock, Virginia we called ahead of time to make sure that we could board our dog here. He assured us that he had space and that we only needed to bring the dog's vaccine records etc. A day before we were due to arrive I called to see if we were all good to go, and Richard, the owner, informed me that we are not on the list and he has no more room. He then proceeded to hang up the phone while I was still speaking. If I could give him zero stars I would.
