I've been trying to reach someone at JCPenney in Harrisonburg, Va. for two days. Nobody will answer a phone in any department you call. This is terrible customer service. Yea you have a customer service 800 number but I want someone to answer a phone. I wont even give you a one star...but, I had to to get this to post. Doesn't even mater what time you call. won't be shopping there any more.

I have to say JCPENNEY has went down in quality as a store since the days I was used to. They carry no real selection of big and tall brands in the store. Apparently relying on the online store for that purpose, and what they do carry carries a price that they should be ashamed to show considering the quality. Not to mention the lack of any real helpful staff. All they seem to want to do is hang out at the customer service area. It is very sad to see what was once a great chain store to have fallen so much.

One of the better JCPenney's that I've been to in the tire country. I love the store. The staff are awesome and very helpful. Great selection of clothing. Clean restrooms. Clean changing rooms. Glass display places for jewelry had a lot of fingerprints and even nose prints on it which I found to be weird. I even seen somebody right there name using their finger oils

Store Employees don’t know how to resolve issues.I returned 2 items to this store and didn’t got refund for my 1- item so i tried to call and figure out on call they told me come to store with receipt and we will help youwhen I went in store today and try explaining my thing they didn’t tell me anything.They didn’t explain anything What they are going to do something after they figure out Nothing……Manger don’t know how to do …..This is not right thing to handle customer first talk with customer nice and friendly.what about my refund I don’t know??

I still enjoy going into JCPenney‘s but the store is a ghost town. Only three people appeared to be working in the entire store and they were all behind the same customer service desk. Could only find one dressing room in the whole store that was opened. No mirrors in the stall, so had to come out to the big mirror. i was half dressed and in walks man to try on his clothes. Could not believe they had one fitting room available for everyone! Ridiculous.

I WAS DECEIVED...I picked up two men's neckties adjacent to a red sign staying "Buy one, get one". At the register, instead of two ties for (unit price of) $34, they rang up as two ties for $50. Store manager Taylor told me that the sign didn't mean buy one get one FREE. It meant buy two get a discount. She wouldn't sell me two ties for $34, so JCPenney lost a sale and gained an annoyed customer.

I was shopping with my mother and had several dresses to try on. It was just before 6:30pm and the store does not close until 7. The fitting rooms were all closed and blocked off, except for 2 stalls in the fitting room in the men’s department. I asked to have a room opened, and was told by a female employee that the night manager had closed all of the fitting rooms, except for the 2 stalls in the men’s department, that were full of men. I asked her to get the night manager so she could unlock a room for me. The very unprofessional night manager, dressed in a black hoodie, says that she did lock all of the rooms and I can wait until something comes available in the MEN’S department. I was expected, as a woman, to try on clothes in the men’s department that was full of men. Obviously this girl needs further training before she takes on any management position, and the person who decided that she was ready and able to successfully perform management duties should’ve made sure that she completed Customer Service 101 before acting in such capacity. I was in retail management for over 10 years, and this is unacceptable. You simply don’t lock up all of the fitting rooms more than 30 minutes before closing and then deny a lifelong customer access and expect her to try on clothes in the men’s department. We have spent countless amounts of money in JCP over the last 30 years, but no more. This is why JCP keeps having financial trouble. The customer service is awful and you can’t get in touch with anyone to make them aware of the experiences. Even when you call customer service, they refuse to give you information on who to contact, and then hang up on you. Go to Belk!

Don't shop here very often but was in yesterday and spoke to Ashanti and Natalie while I was shopping and both were very professional and helpful. In a time where customer service is all but gone it is nice to see some who live by a different standard of respect for the job

The carpet in this store was filthy and the children's department was completely trashed. No one offered to help us and they didn't have any sneakers to fit my 9 year old.

I placed an order site to store and had a horrible experience! Would not recommend. I’ve been waiting three weeks for my order, still no sign of it. I called customer service and they said everything had to be handled through the store. I called the store and spoke with supervisor Adrian. She was extremely rude, talked down to me, and would not help me. She would not cancel my order, she refused to even try to be helpful just kept saying “maam” I can’t do anything until I have your order. I want my money back and she refused. I would NOT recommend using these services, i know I won’t be again!! Needless to say we ordered the same product through another store and received it in three days!! Still waiting on that refund….

JCPenney was okay but a lot of these stores don't have really good clothes for slim people they have senses is an area where they are very large people but slim people are growing up every day and it's hard to find clothes

Great deals shopping during Black Friday/Cyber Monday for clothing for Christmas gifts for our large family (plenty of nice selections). Only 3 salespeople covering one open station but wait time was minimal, they were friendly and composed, and very much appreciated for showing up to work during these trying times.

Who trains and manages the sales staff at this store? I asked the girl at the front of the store just folding clothes and placing them on a table if she would check a price for me around 6:30 pm this evening knowing that sales associates carry a price scanner. She told me I would have to stand on a 5 plus customer-deep line (today was tax free day so the store had many customers) at the checkout counter. I told her that was ridiculous because I wanted to try the item on for size and got nothing but a shoulder shrug.After that incident we had picked up a few more items and went towards the checkout. The same girl appears at the additional register and calls my husband "dear" (ick) to get his attention to come to her register. I rarely shop at this store and will not be going back any time soon.

Seldom do you experience an incident related to customer service that you carry with you after having visiting a major retailer, but my recent memory of Sara Z., stays with me as positive and pleasant. After wandering through the department for a while, I'm approached with a simple, pleasant, and sincere "may I help you?" that left me surprised, dazed, and simply admiring of the effort and sincerity of her effort and genuineness. Not stopping there, she CONTINUED to assist, direct, and reach out in the spirit of a simple but powerful service long gone. It took me hardly any time at all afterwards to leave with what I came for. I congratulate you and J.C. Penney for your association with Sara Z. and the efficiency, because of HER, in your operation.

I've always done my Christmas shopping there but today things were over priced, no prices on the tables that the always showed on their shirts. The seasonal things weren't priced. It wasn't a good experience. I'm guess I'll have to find another favorite store.

Hadn’t really shopped at Penny’s in years. Found the people very nice, the merchandise better than I remembered and the prices were outstanding! I couldn’t believe how much I purchased for so little. If you take the time to look around and hunt for hidden clearance gems you might be amazed. I was very pleasantly surprised!

I ordered a dress online, it was shipped to me, but it wasn't the same dress! The manager made it seem like it was my problem that the dress online & the shipped dress were not the same!?:However the young gentleman, Adduual(?) was very helpful in trying to help me find what I had originally order, but no avail since the dress was needed in 2 days.

I enjoy shopping at JCPenney. It's easy to get in and out of the parking lot, the store is not usually crowed, and the employees are very helpful. I like the bedding section, their bedding is actually very nice. The handbag section is a little skimpy though. I also think some of the clothing is too tightly packed together. I like the clothes they sell, if you shop the clearance racks, you can get some really good deals. Definitely recommend.

I want to say that the JCPenny had a bad customer service and they try to work with people money I ordered a mattress last year for almost $500 they charge me shipping $75 that’s fine and after 3 months the mattress filled down and I called the customer service they said we are sorry as always if you want buy a new one and we will pick up the old one I said no problem so I bought a new one and they charge me $75 again for shipping and they charge me $56 because I return the old one I said no problem after I paid I get my mattress the new one and the driver he don’t like to pick up the old one so I have two mattress right now and they charge me to time and they don’t want to pick up the old one I called the customer service again they said sorry we cannot do nothing for you we will contact you within 48 hours to see how we can pick up the second one so now I need to pay For the second mattress from my credit card until they pick it up the old one and the refund my money and that’s not right no thank you for JCPenney
