I was speaking to another customer about buying grain free dog food as multiple sources (FDA and Tufts lead the research) think they’re may be a causal relationship between grain free diets (the peas/lentils) and cardiomyopathy in dogs. All I said is he should consider talking to his vet about it, when the owner interrupted to tell me I was wrong and it was breed specific. This is not hereditary DCM seen with larger breeds, but considered a secondary DCM from diet. Though research has yet to show exactly what it is, four of my vets have now recommended to not use a grain free diet. Moreover, it IS proven that a large intake of peas can cause ventricular enlargement of the heart. The woman who owns this told me “I don’t think you’ve done your research, and not to say the vets are wrong but they haven’t kept up with this.”Who has more of a reason to keep up with research? The vets? Or the woman profiting off selling the food?Either way, I don’t want nutritional advice from someone who runs a pet store, I’ll take my four extremely well educated and well paid vets advice.I also asked if I could return salmon oil if it was bad (bc I’ve bought the same brand and it was bad, despite being before the sell date) and she just started patronizing me about “WHY WOULD IT BE BAD, IT EXPIRES IN JULY”.

I’ve had both our dogs (mini Aussie and a Aussiedoodle) groomed by Sunny, who does an amazing job! They always come out happy, cut exactly as requested, and adorable. Highly recommend her. Linda is always cheerful and helpful when I have questions - she is great with our dogs. The store is stocked with lots of goodies including baked and frozen treats. The only thing is to book in advance - I think they are about a month out for appointments. I would rather wait to have our dogs groomed here than take them anywhere else.

It was our Siberian's first professional grooming experience. I highly recommend groomer, Sonia. Huskies can be a bit temperamental to say the least, but her gentle and soothing way was the touch. From start to finish she was warm and friendly, quite the professional.

Great dogs is one of only 2 stores in the area that carries the Answers Raw food patties I feed my dog. Owner is very knowledgeable about dog nutrition and she is so pleasant. They carry the highest quality dog products and food. Love this store.

Great dogs of Great Falls is so caring. I called them to get our young border collie groomed as I felt he might feel too hot in the summer(it’s his first summer) but they advised me not to do so as collies’ fur make them resilient to heat and cold. It’s so nice that they didn’t just book the appointment but tried to educate me against a potential mishap. Thanks, guys!

Great Dogs of Great Falls is the BEST if you love your pets. I buy all my pet products from the store, dog and 2 cats and Linda supplies a wide variety of products and is knowledgeable on your pet's needs. She also grooms my sweet Molly, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, who can be anxious at times and is wonderful with her. I HIGHLY Recommend Great Dogs of Great Falls for all your pet needs!!
