Magical place, it opens up and has a large selection of used books and the staff was nice to me even though all I bought was a copy of fight club while wearing all black and a baseball cap.Highly recommend.

Do you want book options? Sure, they got them. Do you want classics, current reads, stuff you remember from when you were a kid? Sure, they got them. But we all know why you come to this particular bookstore. They have two of the most friendly cats you’ll ever see, cats that absolutely love pets and scritches. Go buy a book and show these adorable kitties some love.

Quaint small town book shop. I spent quite a lot of time here many years ago when I lived in Front Royal with my girlfriend and still have several books I bought at Royal Oak. I recall always finding interesting reading material and being greeted by a friendly staff. I'm pleased to see it's still open for business.

It was my first time visiting but definitely not my last! They have a wide selection to choose from, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I did not leave empty handed and plan on returning in the near future! The cats were also a great addition to the cozy atmosphere of the shop.

The ladies working there were amazing and knew their books. They had them all sorted in various rooms and alcoves and nooks, exactly like a great used book store should be. The prices were more than fair. It even had the required roof leak on a sunny day, and the trash can catching the drips! I wish I lived closer to shop there more often..

Royal Oak is one of my favorite book stores in town. Great deals and an awesome selection. Don't go if you're allergic to cats though, because there are two in the store. We have enjoyed this local gem for many years and they even have a customer rewards program.

This is one of my favorite haunts and all the front Royal I don’t even live near the city but I always have to stop at the bookstore they have the John Rowe’s for anybody and I particularly like the books they have an art architecture and history biographies and fiction and nonfiction. They are very personable and the more you buy the more you save. Just remember the parking is around the back. Enjoy and happy reading

It's an adorable little shop filled with more books than I can wrap my head around. Tons of books from local authors and 2 absolutely wonderful cats who are very friendly. I highly recommend this shop to anyone visiting the area.

I love this bookstore. Found it about 20 years ago travelling from Chattanooga, TN. When you first walk in you think, Is this it? It'so small. But you keep entering new rooms and finally you're in an expanded room filled with books. They're everywhere! I love the old, rare book section best. It's great for young and old. Tomorrow I will be stopping there with my husband. Last time he found books on joke telling and I got Nancy Drews' for my granddaughter. So much to see. Afterwards we're going to get Ledo's pizza...ummm...the best pizza ever.

My absolute favorite used (and new!) books store. Very kind staff. And if they don't have the book you want, they can usually get it for you. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Great place to check out if passing through Front Royal. Also check out one other bookstore which is close to the shopping complex with the KFC and Salvation Army type store. Facing that complex, is to the right side of road going east in brick building.
