Our first visit to this location and Peter (groomer) knocked it out of the park! My Andrew was groomed to perfection and was very happy in the end. His coat was shiny and low cut as requested and smelled lovely per the deluxe package ! We even got some toys and treats while I waited for his grooming session to conclude. I would highly recommend Peter and the Fair Lakes location ‼️🐾

We came into PetSmart today trying to adopt a cat we were ready and from the very start explained to the lady that our cat was a boy and everything about him she proceeded to let us hangout with the cat we wanted which was a girl cat she told us everything about the cat and afterwards told us to fill out an application as we were going another family also wanted the cat that we wanted. We filled out the form gave them all of our information and this Rude lady pulls us away to tell us that we can’t adopt the cat. We asked why and she says out of nowhere the fact that we found adopt since our cat is a boy and a girl wouldn’t be a right fit she told us this after making us go through everything having our hopes up that we we’re definitely going to get her she was rude and made us go into tears this isn’t right and no way to treat a customer pet smart pick your people better we are incredibly disappointed.

Our dog absolutely loves attending day-camp. The staff is very friendly, warm and accommodating. Our dog gets super excited every time we enter the store, as she knows that she will be well taken care of by the PetSmart staff!

20220419 Decided to stop by to get some guppies. It has been over a decade since I had fish. Got to bettas recently and decided to add some guppies to keep them company. The guppies were $3.99 each. It's amazing how much a little fish can cost. Prices definitely have gone up. I picked up 5 of them, with 3 males and 2 females. Hopefully some of the babies will survive from getting eaten by the bettas. Need to put in some hiding places soon. The employee who helped me with the fish was patient and the cashier and another employee were helpful. They were all professional and nice.I ordered the wrong hay for my bunny. I ordered a bag around 3:30 and it was ready within an hour. I got there around 6:30 and decided to use curbside pickup. Downloaded the app, and the message immediately display for me to click "I'm here". After a few minutes, the PetSmart employee was coming out with my bag if hay. So easy!!

I have a 6 month old Aussie Shepherd puppy and I wanted to get him a "puppy grooming" near Potomac Mills Mall the next day but they had nothing available. I live in Lorton and asked if any other location was available. They called several other Pet Smarts and Fair Lakes Mall did. I made a reservation and got there early. I was asked to wait for the manager to finish his appointment which took less than 5 minutes. I thought that this was a positive thing and he was an excellent manager. He did a short interview about my dog and wanted to review the phone interview i had the previous day. Again I thought he was an excellent manager. He told me to allow 3 hours and even the time to return. When we walked in to pick him up the employee asked my puppy's name. I told her and she asked for my name. Again I thought this store was well managed. She brought him out with a new collar and leash and asked if we wanted to keep it...free. I asked how did he do. She explained how they acclimate the animals so they don't get very nervous and that he was very good and even seemed to enjoy it...even when they trimmed his nails and the fur on his paws, face and rear end. Remember that this is a 6 month old puppy's first grooming. I'm certainly biased but we were pleased that he was so comfortable among other dogs and strangers. When I took him to my car the first thing I did was call the dog trainer I'm using...just for 3 weeks...to tell him. He told me that i have an exceptionally smart dog that wants to please us and we also were doing well with learning what he's been doing with our puppy. I called the Fair Lakes Pet Smart and asked for them to transfer our records to their location. I definitely recommend Pet Smart as a company and specifically this location.

Great place to find all you need for your pet, or even to find your NEW pet, if you like!! Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team 🐈🐕‍ holds adoptions on Saturdays and Sundays at this location. You can also find exotic pets here, as well as specialty foods, a grooming center, a daycare center, and there's even a Banfield medical center on site.

It was very first time to my dog bathing with groomer. I concerned a lot but everything went so well! Annie, the groomer, did very thorough and awesome job on his double coats, feet, legs, genital area, and his tangled ear hairs. Besides, she was very cheering and delightful, my dog was nervous but soon was eased. Look at his smile and the result of good bath, haircut, and nailcare: picture in the forest was him before grooming today. Fluffy but fresh texture of his hair is an extra gift to me:) Very satisfied, five stars to Annie

I brought my Maltese dog for grooming but he was turned around on the grounds of snapping the groomer. He never been refused services before. I don't know why he acted this way. I bet the strong smell of other dog urine and big dogs around without seperation scared him.

Absolutely atrocious care given to the reptile species here. Nearly all the leopard geckos have had stuck shed every time I've been here, which can be a very serious issue if not addressed. Bearded dragons are usually missing tips of tails, toes, etc. due to housing a ridiculous amount together. On top of that, sometimes they'll be housed with other dragons who are double their size which is extremely dangerous. I understand having limited retail space, but if you can't provide proper care you shouldn't be selling them. Pleeeease don't support them by buying your reptiles here, or at any chain pet store. There are several local reptile expos with vendors who actually care

Mel was a rude groomer. She didn’t take my dog in for grooming because I was late… I had traveled 30 mins for this appointment. Never coming back and definitely not scheduling grooming with Mel again.

This review is for the grooming salon at PetSmart Fair Lakes. Me and my fiancé brought our dog here for a grooming appointment for a much needed washup. About an hour or two later we get a phone call from their office letting us know that there was an incident resulting in our dog’s left rear paw being split open by a cut. Apparently, this took place when the groomer tried to cut our dog’s nails and obviously failed to do it right. They told us that it was a minor cut done by clippers / scissors but looking at his paw afterwards we knew for fact that it wasn’t just a simple cut but rather looked like it was done by a nail trimmer or some other machinery. Yes, it was a serious injury. We were in shock that this had happened to our dog and without a doubt disappointed with the service. What should have been a $26 grooming session ended up costing us over $300 in medical bills at our dog’s primary care hospital to get him rightfully treated for the wound (Banfield was no help at all and you can read my review for them on their Google page). I’m really upset about this because I was already struggling enough after losing my job due to the coronavirus and figured I could take our dog here to get him groomed for a low price. Now I am in more debt with all the medical expenses me and my fiancé have incurred due to the negligence of the grooming staff of not doing their job properly. These amateurs obviously have no knowledge on how to do a grooming job well. I guess that’s what you can expect from people who only make minimum wage. Our dog was left limping and in a lot of pain on top of no grooming completed. Next time I’d rather take our dog to a professional dog groomer, even though it might cost us more money, than to bring him here and possibly costing me another $300 or more in veterinarian bills. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon and will be informing all our friends and colleagues to steer clear from this whatever you call it, because it’s anything less than a pet grooming salon I’ll tell you that. We will never ever be bringing our dog back here again.

This review is mainly for the cashier who attended me today Saturday July 27th at 145pm. I never received such bad customer service from this location before. To start off she snaps at me to come to her register, I walked towards her and said Hello and she responds with "what's your phone number" Then proceeds to scan my items, I pay, while gathering my things to put in my cart she just throws the receipt on top of my things, doesn't even let me finish grabbing my items when she's already ringing up the person behind me. This visit genuinely made me feel so uncomfortable.

I have used the Fair Lakes Petsmart Pet Hotel and Doggy Day Camp numerous times and have come to trust their team to do the very best for my Dixie! They call her by name as soon as we enter and her tail just wags! They will always reach down and pet her head a bit as they talk to her and put on her identification collar. I have watched her walk back with them and coming to the front for pick up and she is still wagging her tail as they take her back and bring her back to me. I would recommend Their Pet Hotel and doggy day camp to anyone who is looking for an upbeat active place for their dog to run around or be boarded.
