The sandwich I got was personally the best I’ve ever had. I got grilled chicken on whole wheat with fresh mozzarella, garlic Mayo, pesto, lettuce (which is shredded), roasted tomatoes, and avocado. It was toasted and everything was so fresh and delicious. I think it was slightly overpriced for a sandwich but it was delicious. I also wanted to try the pizza, and unfortunately I regret it. The crust had a strange taste and slightly weird texture. It just tasted doughy and floury even though it was fully cooked. I liked the crunch of the pizza and the flavor was decent. I did find the Italian seasoning or oregano on it overwhelming. I wish I had one closer to my house because the sandwich was truly amazing! Overall the service was good and they were nice. I don’t drink and I asked to not sit at the bar and they were totally fine with that and they warned me the service would be a bit slow. Nothing about my order was messed up and overall I was extremely pleased with my sandwich. I’m craving it now.

We have occasionally ordered food from this place, as it is nearby. They have a great selection of menu items, including sandwiches, pasta, and pizza, which we like. We especially appreciate their lasagna's good quality, delicious taste, and generous portion size. It is always baked to perfection, making it our favorite dish.Parking: Retail parking garage in the building for customers.

TLDR: Great Pizza, Outdoor Seating, Nice Casual Atmosphere, O.K drinksAte here for a nice outdoor fall dinner. We got the Popeye Pizza, Bendito Sub, Fries, Arnold Palmer alcoholic drink and Moscow Mule. The highlight for me was the pizza (very crispy, but chewy pizza crust, not dry, good mild flavor). The sub was also good, although it was advertised as spicy and it wasn’t really to me. Good bread though. The fries were nicely fried and not too salty. The drinks we got were a little on the meh side, but the good service and food made up for it. Would recommend for casual dining in good weather, sit outside if you can!

Good place to have some good food in a family friendly place. Nothing so far I have found there is fantastic but everything thing I have had is good solid eats. Nothing fancy but still good enough for me to keep going back again and again. I highly recommend the place for a no fuss good pizza, sandwich or pasta! Also a great selection of beers if that is your thing!

We've gone to this Lost Dog a couple times a month since it opened and we've watched it heading downhill. The beer selection has always been excellent and that remains. The food has always been serviceable (though typically under-seasoned) with several decent vegetarian options. Still the case. But the vibe isn't what it was. You often have to search for an employee to seat or serve you, many employees seem annoyed to have to be there, and the place is not clean. On our most recent (and possibly last?) visit, we sat at the mostly empty bar. I eventually was able to find a napkin to sweep up a large pile of crumbs and garbage from our spot, and it remained on the counter for the duration of our lunch. One of our beers had several things floating in it -- we told the bartender who dumped it out, didn't refill, didn't ask if we wanted anything to replace it, and charged us for it.Again, it was not that she was in the weeds -- the place was pretty dead for a Sunday lunch. Probably because people went someplace cleaner.

This was my first time here. I had never heard of this place before and I work right down the street, so going after work was a great choice! They had a variety of subs to pizza to pasta! The price was a great snatch as well for the deliciousness of the food! The selection of beer was huge. Karen was our server this night and she provided excellent customer service! She was very friendly and knew what to recommend when I asked her. The artwork inside the restaurant is also neat! I will definetly come back and recommend it to others!

Update: I appreciate the cafe’s response. This is true- on their website, the price is $7. I’m not sure how expensive it is for delivery. I still think this is far too much money for what you actually get. Throw some chips and a box juice in with it, or actually make real mac and cheese, or make the price make sense. The sandwiches are solid. I would just find a different place to feed the kids. This is purely because of the absolutely ridiculous kids menu items. Using Uber Eats, $9 for a quarter of a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. About 30 cents worth of processed cheese macaroni and cheese. $9. Their sandwiches are good. But the complete absurdity of the kids options deserves this rating.Kid-friendliness: Food options are ridiculous for the price.

My wife and I like this place a lot. They have a really good selection of drinks and great pizzas and sandwiches. The menu can be a little intimidating as theirs about 30 different sandwiches and 20 different pizzas. Honestly they’re all really good though so take a chance. I’ve been here about two dozen times over the last three years or so and the service has always ranged from very good to great. The plentiful outdoor seating is great when we want to take the pooch with us. They have a great mission with their rescue support. They also have a store inside where you can buy swag or six packs.Parking: There are two free municipal garages about a 3-5 minute walk away. Theirs limited app paid street parking nearby.

When I see the word “gourmet” used in marketing/advertising descriptions of pizza I expect a flavor jamboree which was not the case for the pepperoni and mushroom pizza I was served at Lost Dog Cafe. Old Dominion Pizza in Arlington is my taste benchmark standard for excellent pizza in NOVA in my taste opinion. LDC pizza dough was totally bland and uninteresting compared to ODP’s flavorful corn meal dough. LDC toppings also lacked strong flavor profile by comparison. Using the word “gourmet” indicates to me farm fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I would be stunned if LDC verified that.LDC beer selection is commendable. I appreciate that LDC has bottle Pilsner Urquell which is reason enough to come back. Would be a nice touch if they had Pilsner glasses. Carrot Cake icing was a bit cloying but saved by distinctly flavorful fresh black walnuts and fresh raisins in the cake. My guess as to $7.95 (let’s call it 8 bucks) a slice price. Coffee was pretty good with it.The staff was friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. Could not ask for better in that department. I like the light color wood square bar design having 5 bar stools with backs on 3 sides of the square. The cafe is exceptionally clean. Their pizza box should win a design award for its solid construction and the Lost Dog logo that covers the box top and includes QR code. I hope they find their dog.Pizza = 1 starCarrot Cake = 3 1/2 starsThe rest of the package = 5 starsPizza really drags down the overall to 3 stars. I am compelled to give heavy weight to the pizza component because of the loud marketing/advertising that it is “gourmet” which, in my opinion, it is not.

They sell the worst Fettuccine Neptune and Pizza that I couldn't even stop throwing up after I ate both. They made Fettuccine Neptune with low quality Alfredo cream and it tasted like feet!! For the Pizza, I have no clue what was in it but I knew it tasted different, and I had to go to the hospital and spent 3 days at home. I will never go there or even order a bread. Do not waste your money!

Outrageously good sandwiches. We’ve tried countless options from the menu now, and we haven’t been disappointed by a single one. My all-time favorite is the Fat Molly. What’s particularly impressive is their willingness to accommodate dietary needs. I can’t eat bread, so they put the entire contents of the sandwich very neatly and carefully packaged in an aluminum tray to keep it hot. Excellent. This is our favorite sandwich shop in the area, and we always make sure to have our out-of-town guests try it!

Pizza was great! As it always is. Good beers on tap. Me and my wife stopped in on a hot and humid Monday night to grab a beer and pizza. We decided to try out their sandwiches. My wife ordered a chicken wrap and I had the Italian. Sub had good flavor but there was little to no meat. For a sub to be 10 dollars I was expecting more, not a subway sub!I've been going to the original Lost Dog for years and the subs at the Arlington location are much better. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but they have to make better sandwiches than what I received. Staff was very friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. We will be back......just not for the sandwiches.

We stopped by here on a weekday for an early dinner. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The service was great and the options for food can be overwhelming. We tried soups, salads, and sandwiches. Its hard to get these wrong. My wife and I traded sandwich halfs. The salads and veggies on the sandwiches were fresh and the bread was nicely toasted. We will have to try the pizza next time.

So you find yourself in a place called Dunn Loring. You just got off the metro rail from having a wonderful day at the museum in Washington DC. You decide to walk around the local area and you have a recommendation from a local to try a nice little beer place called The Lost Dog Cafe. You walk in you see some of the funkiest art on the walls I don't know who the muralist was but they're awesome this little hand-crafted place has got a thousand different beers in the cooler a heck of a microbrew beer menu and awesome sandwiches, pizza, and other dishes all very affordable and all very delicious. My son had a meatball marinara $8. It was awesome he was only able to finish half and then he finish the other half for breakfast the next morningThe food is excellent the service was outstanding it gets 4.5 stars because it almost has too much beer if that's possible. Please if you are in Dunn Lorung near the metro and want a great beer and pizza go to the LOST DOG CAFE.They also support local animal shelters. Good on you guys and gals.

Lunch time - No Host or Hostess. Confusing entrance as signs say to check in. Was standing and waiting 10 mins before I took the initiative and approached the bar tender, who saw me standing there clueless.Other than that - waiter and food were great. 3.5 stars

Do you like Pizza? Sandwiches? Salads? Pasta? They have a huge variety. Indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant sits on a quiet corner but is worth the hunt. You won't be disappointed.

We love this place and eat/carry-out at least once a month. Have never had an issue and the staff is great. The parking situation can be a little hairy, but that's not LD's fault. I usually order the El Presidente (sandwich) on GF bread or the Great Pyrenees (pizza) + bacon on GF. This time I tried a new sandwich and it was really great. The El Presidente is stilly favorite though! Husband loves the National.Went for lunch and got to sit outside. Infant/newborn enjoyed it too 😂

When I initially saw this place I thought it was a place where dogs came together to talk about why their owners trick them into thinking the ball was thrown. Even though I was wrong, it definitely did not disappoint. They have a variety of beer, pizza, and sandwiches. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The best part was the awesome doggo art on the walls.
