My husband and I just purchased Liberty, a 40 foot Catalina, from Chesapeake Yacht sales. Gordon was the broker. He kept us well informed throughout the process and was very helpful with his explanations on details such as haul outs, surveys, and coast guard documentation. We stored our "Great Loop" boat here for three years and our experience with the facilities and staff were first rate. The ability to get questions answered, services performed, post-weather-event reports and a friendly reception when arriving to work on our boat are all very key to being an out-of-area owner. An especially big thank you to Laura who made it all happen with professionalism, efficiency, thoughtfulness and warmth. She is the brains and heart of DYC!!Our 50 years and over 50,000 nautical miles have given us lots of experience with boat yards, marinas, boat brokers and mechanics. We recommend DYC for storage and maintenance but DO NOT advise you to use the in-house brokerage.

Excellent sales and service. We purchased a used powerboat from DYC last year. The broker, Gordon, was excellent in his knowledge of the boat for sale, boats in general, and the boat buying process. We had DYC perform additional work on the boat after purchase which was done expertly and for a reasonable cost. Gordon has been responsive to all our questions and a pleasure to work with. We had the opportunity to stay at the marina and experience the area which was very enjoyable. We look forward to visiting DYC again on future trips.

Deltaville Yachting Center is very customer oriented. No matter how long the question or how many times I've asked the same one, they also respond in a friendly and timely fashion. Beautiful amenities include clubhouse, pool area, dog walking area, BBQ area, a separate bathhouse and more! I went in looking for slip and service work pricing and got all the answers I needed and it made me rent a annual slip from them! Great people.

I have had a boat or two here for a long time. Lou and Ona Grimm could not be more nice and warm and helpful. Laura is always wonderful. The boatel staff has been very professional and kind. The facilities from the restrooms to the pool are always very clean and we'll kept. The landscaping are very nice. I can remember 40 years ago how rundown it was before Jack Dozier built the boatel. The Grimm's have taken that place and made a Best of the Bay!

If you are looking to purchase a cruising-size boat, power or sail, I sincerely say to you, go see the folks at Chesapeake Yacht Sales & Deltaville Yachting Center. Do yourself that favor and smart move. You will save money and be working with a team of yacht professionals. I am not certain the words “outstanding” and “most highly recommended” do justice to the truly top-level, first-class treatment I experienced purchasing my Catalina 445 through CYS at DYC. That was 3-years ago now and they remain “my boatyard.” Had the boat on the hard there over the winter and just relaunched this past week.From my first contact with the broker, Cori Williams, to accepting post-commissioning turnover from Lew Grimm (owner & manager) and their Master ABYC Technician who oversaw the commissioning work, it was a comfortable, no-pressure process best described as a partnership to get it not just right, but perfect. That is how it was, start to finish. Describing these folks as true professionals is not hype, just stating the fact.DYC is an active boatyard and their team of ABYC technicians are second-to-none. I am now on a first-name basis with all the techs and staff members. They very courteously take all my question and concerns immediately. When they are busy with other customer work, they get back to me by the end of the day or schedule a time to work with me as needed. My trust in DYC has never let me down and has saved me money. These folks exemplify the Deltaville charm and old Virginia gentility. What a pleasure to work with these wonderful people.

This yacht center is by far the best on the Chesapeake. Possibly the world. Down home service, with professional results that can't be beat! I've been struggling with my sailboat for a while and when I've got questions, their service team is there with the answers and parts I'm looking for. If you go anywhere else but here for your boating needs, you are just wasting your time.
